My gorgeous special little Burmese boy Koko was killed last Friday in a RTA.
I am not on the main road & have fields behind me so he would go in there.
He had just been into see me & within minutes it seemed, the vet rang me to say a lady had brought Koko to them as he had been involved in an accident & unfortunately died. He suffered trauma to the head & a broken jaw.
I couldn’t believe it!
My poor baby.
He was a very special boy, only 2yrs old, who loved cuddles, kisses & asked to be picked up.
None of my other 5 do or want that but still love them the same.
He was my bed partner & loved being under the duvet with me, all safe & warm.
He loved people & attention, not a care in the world, so soft & a beautiful nature.
I can not eat & my stomach heaves when I think of him & to expect him bounding in at anytime.
I find myself just starring out of the window seeing him in my mind, in a daze full of grief & overwhelming sadness.
I miss him so much!

RTA is always such a shock and it always seems to be young and robust ones who are taken (I suppose the older ones are a bit wiser), I've lost one this way myself and know how horrible is can be :hug:

Nothing much I can say to make you feel any better at this time but wanted you to know my thoughts are with you. At least as much was done for him as could be done and the lady was kind enough to take him straight to a vet and he didn't lie and suffer on his own.

Poor Koko - I would speak to his spirit, tell him much you love him and comfort him. :hug:
(hope you don't find this strange)
If you can, try and eat a little, maybe just a boiled egg at first - I've always found that works for me when I'm too upset to eat.

I too lost a 2 year old to the road - it's such a shock because so sudden - your system will need time to recover from that, although it will take much longer to get over Koko's death

I'm so sorry. I know myself the pain and feeling of injustice at an RTA involving a young cat. I can not imagine a harder way to lose a loved one but when you begin to recover, I promise you will remember the good times and smile. :hug:

Oh Sue, so very sorry about little Koko, its devastating, I also know that feeling of shock only too well. Its so hard to take in isnt it? I remember losing Tim to an RTA, in much the same way as Koko, I had just seen him go out as usuall in the morning and literally minutes after there was a knock on the door. I too, had fields at the back of my house, but unfortunately a quiet, but fast, country road running alongside it. I kept saying to myself, I've just seen him, it can't be him, but it was. :(
It takes time to recover from the shock of something like that, take care of yourself :hug:

Found out that Koko was visiting my neighbour each eve & made himself comfy on her sofa.
Wonder how many more houses/people he was visiting, which could have been on Friday

I am so very sorry to hear this Sue, it is so much harder to come to terms with when they are young and it is unexpected. Please take comfort in your other cats, and do try and eat something, Koko wouldnt want you to end up poorly. RIP little one

Mine was 10 months, I dread coming August as it will be one year ago and I will be devastated once again.

Oh honi, i have been through this myself not very long ago & know exactly how you feel. Your message has brought tears to my eyes. I still find it very difficult to come to terms with. I lost my Zak in an RTA so know what you are going through - do feel as if it is not real, and he will pop his head in the door and say Hi mum what's for tea???.

So sorry to hear your news and understand a little of what you are feeling having lost my Biggles to a RTA 3 years ago. he used to go over a lane to fields as well :hug:

I have been to see the lady who found Koko & took him to the vets ~ gave her hand made card with Koko's pic on, chocolates & flowers for her kindness & compassion.
I needed to ask her where exactly on the road it happened so I can ease the pain of not knowing. I wasn't in a sane state of mind that horrible day to take it in. He was so near the house when it happened. He had only been in to say 'hello' a few minutes before hand.
She told me he moved when she got him there & that just started me off again. I know I shouldn't dwell on that but it hurts so much. The vet said to her that it was him muscles relaxing during death. That awful, awful word!

Im so sorry for your terrible loss he was a beautiful kitty and had a spesial place in your heart. We lost our Millie at a young age its heartbreaking.
