I thought any Truman fans out there might like to see how he is getting on. I took this picture of him, with his friend MacGreggor in the background, last weekend.

Oh Moira, truely brings a tear to my eye seeing him like this, mission complete I say. You always said you'd be happy if he just got one day out in the sun in your garden and there he is, what an amazing thing you have done I'm so thankful for purrs and so happy you answered my plea.
I know shes a modest mouse but shout out for Trigger too ;) I will contact sypher now, the gent who found him and link him to this page.

joote kindly pm'd me on another forum so I could see this thread. Truman is looking fantastic, what a massive improvement since March.
Thank you so much moira for rescuing him and taking such good care of him.

Thank you for rescuing him too Sypher, I don't think he would have survived if you hadn't rescued him from the road

Truman is an absolute joy to have, he has such a sweet nature and is very affectionate.
He has a really good appetite at the moment. When I first had him he only weighed 2.8kg and he now weighs 3.5kg. Also, the condition of his coat has improved a little. He is still, however, a very fragile old man and does mostly just like to eat and sleep. It has only been recently that he has taken to coming downstairs by himself when I leave the bedroom door open (only when I am there) and going out to the garden. I was worried at the weekend that he might be getting too hot and moved him to the shade but he just went back and lay down in the sun again. When he had had enough he went back upstairs by himself to his room. Two of my other cats, MacGreggor and Stinky, are very good with him and sleep beside him on the bed at night(I'm lucky if I get a corner to myself :) the others stay downstairs. I can safely leave them in the room with him when I go to work, so he usually has company during the day. My son is also at home during the day and looks in on him occasionally.
His rescue was definitely a team effort. So much can be achieved by networking on sites like this. I only wish we could save them all

I just read this poem on the Paws4Life website and wanted to share it. It sums Truman up, I think.
BORROWED TIME
He sits by the window and gazes outside,
He will not be with us for long.
He once was a young tommy, bursting with pride,
But now he is no longer strong.
He once had a coat that was shiny and thick,
It's now dull, and starey, and thin.
His liver's not perfect, his kidneys are sick,
His life, though, is precious to him.
The vet thought he should have been dead months ago,
His lifespan is over, it seems.
Yet he loves each moment, enjoying the show,
And he is still young in his dreams.
