Taken from a rescue workers Facebook page:
Oreo - Due to be put to sleep in next couple of days. Oreo managed to get in with the family rabbit 6 months ago and killed it. The owner believes that this means that he has blood lust and will attack the baby when it is born. He has been assessed by a vet and has been confirmed to have a great temperament.
Oreo is in Leatherhead,Surrey.

Again J.S try posting on RHU. My dogs would kill a rabbit, but I wouldn't be stupid enough to let them near one >:(
-
Can you PM me a link to RHU, please Woowoo? :)
-
Wonderful news - Rescue Remedies has come forward and offered this lad a place at their rescue. :)
-
I think RHU are Rescue Helpers Unite JS

Good news ;D blooming stupid owners
-
Absolutely - like a dog won't know the difference between a rabbit and a baby!
-
Just reading this and laughing at how :censored: stupid the owners of this poor dog were, my cats would kill a rabbit !!, this is a Staffy arent they part of the Terrier family (sorry I dont know about dogs) and arent the terrier family bred specifically to kill rabbits/rats etc etc ?, people do :censored: amze me sometimes. >:(
-
Their history goes way, way, way back to when Bulldogs were crossed with Terriers. Staffies were originally bred for bull baiting, it was both for purpose and entertainment back in those days bull/bear baiting was a form of entertainment. They were also bred/used for dog fighting, so in short blood sports.

Are you a member of Facebook Daisy? (or Den!) Check out a group called "These dogs urgently need homes" - about 80% of them are staffies or "dangerous dog" breeds.

JS .... what has happened to Oreo .... I thought he had a rescue place! Why is it now RIP :(
-
The owners put Oreo to sleep before transport could be arranged. :(
RIP, Oreo. Life treated you very unfairly.
-
:'(
RIP Oreo xx
-
That's awful, did they give a reason why? :-: Poor Oreo, RIP :'(
-
I would imagine the usual reason Claire. They cared less about giving Oreo a chance and more about "sorting out the situation." (Not that there really was one.)
