hi, I have a query for you all.
Bubz has become less sure-footed over the last few months. I'm not meaning she's falling over or anything like that but when she jumps up onto my desk or my chair her back legs don't always coordinate with her front legs, resulting in a bit of a scramble to get all four feet on the same surface. Its a bit like watching a cat jump onto a high fence, its that kind of a scramble.
Am I being paranoid or could there be something going on?

How old is Bubz, Helen? I ask because this happened (indeed, continues to happen) to Blip and it turned out to be the first signs of her arthritis in her hip.

That has happened with my old cats too I would probably mention this to vet just to make sure

My old boy Eddie is like this ,its down to him having arthritis in his back legs,they dont always go where he wants them to,i have him on Synoquin which i put in his food, this helps him and doesnt stop him from trying to climb trees even tho hes 17yrs old :wow:

I would take her to the vet then if it's a recent thing and she's so young

Bluto starting loosing his footing has he developed kidney problems but again he was a much older cat

I would too. You might find she has an ear infection or similar: I'd get it checked out and treated :hug:

Hi again,
I got Bubz an appointment for this morning (amazing feat that, since I only rang this morning!!!) and the vet said there may be a bit of swelling round one knee so I came away with some Metacam for her for 2 weeks. If there isnt any impovement they'll then look at possibly sedating her for a proper examination. At least Bubz is insured!
Mind you, getting the Metacam liquid into her might prove a challenge as she is very definite as to what she will eat and what she wont eat!!!!!

Blip's the same but she really likes Metacam and takes it readily in her normal wet food. You'll find it smells - and presumably tastes - of honey.

I've given up giving Bubz wet food because she wastes so much of it and chops and changes what she will eat so often! I just cant afford it!

This morning she squirmed a bit as my PA was gving it to her orally, but she seems to be a shade more energetic!
She's certainly not stopped jumping up onto my handles when my hair is being brushed as she loves being combed. All you have to do is to pick her comb up and she's looking all expectant. :rofl:

Bubz has got a more-or-less clean bill of health! She's got to have a half dose of Metacam for another week, then if she's ok that is it!!! ;D

She seems to be fine now Christine. :) She's snuggled up against the monitor with front paws covering her eyes! ;D
