One of my OH’s colleagues contacted him earlier to say they had heard our cat had recently died (R.I.P Proot :(), and they thought it might be a bit soon for us…..but wanted to know if we’d willing to foster their Mum’s cat for a few weeks while she’s in hospital.
So, after thinking about it for a full 10 seconds, hopefully Dinah cat will be arriving on Thurs/Fri!
She’s 17, an indoor cat who spends most of her time asleep, likes being brushed, likes sleeping, likes a bit of fuss…and sleeping….
;D

So, after thinking about it for a full 10 seconds,
LOL you sound just like me !!!
Let us know when she arrives xx

Thats lovely Baggy
-
That is so kind of you, how nice it would be if more people were so accommodating.
-
aaww so much better you havin her than an old lady like that going in a cattery.
are you at home most of the time ? maybe you could (or the owner) get a feliway plug in just to help her feel more at ease altho hopefully she'll be so busy sleeping she'll not notice the change of abode
-
We're just glad to be able to help out - it's nice to think someone would trust us to take care of her and it will be very nice to have a bit of cat company again :Luv: Bet we won't want to give her back.....
She'll be on her own for about 6 hours a day so I think we'll try the Feliway. At least we have the whole weekend to help her settle in (well, settle her on the bed from the sounds of things!). I can nip home at lunch times to check on her too.
Will update when she arrives, probably with a picture!

she might not need it baggy but then it wont hurt .
lookin forward to piccies.
-
thats wonderful baggy ;D

That is wonderful, the cat is lucky to have a home environment while her owner is gone - I would also use Rescue Remedy on her while she is with you - the Cinnamon Trust use it a lot in cases where cats might fuss due to missing owners/other cats. Cant wait to see pics and hear all about her
-
We have Rescue Remedy by the bucketload so if she's fretting will give it a try, thanks. We'll go for the feliway if she's really not settling.
Husband just emailed this to his colleague :evillaugh:

Brilliant!
Send us a picture of her when she arrives ;D

Well, Dinah is here - she's very sweet and looks fantastic for a lady of 17. She's conducted a brief tour of the house, punctuated by lots of "miaow?" and has now returned to the safety of her carrying cage for a rest :shy:. She's looking a little bit pensive but isn't hiding away or charging round so I think she'll settle in well enough.
Pictures as soon as she's out of her cage!
-
Bless her she sounds lovely :Luv:
Can't wait to see her pics ;)
-
Aw bless her. That's really nice of you to be doing this, esp so soon after losing Proot.
I bet those rules don't last 5 minutes!
-
Hugs to Dinah and I hope she enjoys her holiday - bet she does ;)
-
Aww, fingers crossed she is still fine - where are the pics?
-
How lovely. Well done you. Try not to get too attached to Dinah.... I said try not to get too attached to Dinah... Oh well I tried...

;D We're trying...but she's very sweet!
Fingers crossed Dinah seems to be doing fine. She's quite a timid girl, but is much more settled today and not running off each time one of us comes into the room. She didn't really sleep at all yesterday (nor did we ), but has claimed a cushion today and been getting some good snoozes in.
She has just tucked into some delicious fresh chicken which is a relief, as she hasn't eaten very much since her arrival (though apparently she has a very small appetite).
Myself and OH have both really been missing the Proot, suppose because we can't help but compare her habits and character and have been talking about him a lot.....
Here's a pic of her with her brush, which is her most treasured possession!
