It seems whatever we use on Clapton, he gets a red patch on his neck. I just saw Program and it says for the treatment of fleas and allergic dermatitis. I have ordered some - I think it goes in their food?
Anyone tried it?
-
Please remember Mark that Program is only a flea contraceptive.
-
So as long as we are flea-free, it should work?
I'm desperate to find something that isn't going to irritate his neck. I wonder how it treats allergic dermatitis?
-
Is he allergic to fleas or just the spot ons? Have you tried advocate?
It has to go with food so follow the instructions as you find, its a thick white fluid and you will probably need more than one vial.
It works by stopping fleas producing but does say in heavy infestations it wont work and will need other products to get things under control first (says it all imo!)

The vet thinks his sores ATM are a flea allergy but we think they are just another allergy of some kind. He doesn't have fleas so it is a preventative. He used to be fine with Stronghold, then he started getting pink patches, then it got worse. The vet gave him advocate a while ago and he reacted to that as well.

Mark we have all of ours on the Program injection - 40 currently as Blue and Ace are not visitors to the vet being totally unhandlable so they are cornered and Profendered!
It has cleared up feral Miss Cissy's flea allergy and her hair has grown back and we have had no issues in all our years of using it - our current vets order it by the box for us we just advise them how many of each weight catergory is coming it comes in 40 for up to 4kgs and Program 80 for the larger kids!
Our dogs are all on program Plus in tablet form - again it comes in various sizes for dogs we use 3 different weight ranges
It done 6 monthly and is so much easier for us than trying to do them all monthly - we also have no fleas and it works well on the Ticks they all bring home to!

Thanks Liz - Fingers crossed it will help Clapton

Our vets wont use it for some strange reason? it is very popular in Germany and we used it when we lived there and never had a flea problem.

we used the program injection when we lived in London
