My kittens are now 8 months and 9 months old now, the female Ice keeps trying to run out of the front door as soon as it is opened if she manages to escape she runs into some bushes next to the house and will not come out ( i have to bribe her in with food) >:(
Boots my other kitten will not go out full stop he prefers to hide behind the sofa when the door is open bless him.
So with Ice keep wanting to go out is now the best time to let them go outside with the weather warming up? she is tiny for her age and i'm worried about losing her but she keeps crying by the door and watches my older cat go outside
So i'm stuck HELP please
-
As long as they are both spayed, there's no reason for them not to be going out already. I know it's hard the first time but they have obviously made their choice and what to explore!

A few tips ....
Make sure they are hungry when they go out as easier to coax them back
Short spells out to start with ensuring they are able to run back in if they want to
Rather than bringing them out, allow them to wander out of their own accord under your supervison
We're going to be doing likewise in a week or so as babies being spayed tomorrow...looking forward to their excitement and dreading it just as much :scared:

my 2 are the same. Merlin is desperate to go out but Mouse hides behind the washing machine if the back door is open :evillaugh:. i've been letting Merlin out in the early evening while i am calling the rest in for dinner. he escaped a couple of days ago in the morning and was a búgger to get back in again

Agree totally with Rosella ;D

mmmm good idea about them not being fed before they go out, Ice is very strong minded and does whatever she wants and i think she knows i panic when she escapes because i bring her straight back in. I shall try tomorrow for a very short time and see how we get on with Ice, Boots is such a mummy's boy though so i'll probably just let him go out when he feels ready.
Fingers crossed i'm more nervous than the kittens :-[

Are they chipped? If not i would hold off until thats done and you have had a confirmation letter, if you decide to use a collar please dont get ones with elastic inserts, they are dangerous :(

The first MM is spelt with a Y and the second MM is spelt IE - simple :wow: As for MM (Maddiesmum) that's where I lose the plot :evillaugh:
-
Not simple if you forget things like me :innocent:
-
Yes it's definitely confusing can you change your name on your profile cos i don't mind changing mine?
Any way i opened the door for the kittens yesterday and stayed by the door.Boots stayed by my side having a cuddle but Ice was soon off, i left her out for about 10 mins but panicked again and brought her in
As it's a nice day today and i'm at home i'll try again for a bit longer, they are both chipped and spayed and mummy coddled :naughty:

Keep your name, lets mess Gill up :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
