Those poor technicians - how on earth can they go into work each day!
-
If it's a PTS video, I don't want to watch as it's heartbreaking. I saw one on youtube before where they were putting dogs in a bunker about 4ft square - some of the dogs were wagging their tails :( - they were going to gas them with an exhaust pipe :( - it should be compulsory to spay/neuter.
-
Yes it is a really upsetting video but as long as people dont care, then sadly this will go on and on and on.
The older I get the more I despair of the human race.
Just going to compose myself now before work.

Just put it on. Thank you

I've put it on the London, Birmingham and coventry gumtree sites. Maybe others can help putting it elsewhere?

If I'm honest Mark, I haven't actually watched it........I can't face it at the moment but I'm hoping it will help drum it into peoples heads. I've just had a guy on the phone, he's got 3 cats, 2 with babies and one pregnant and he can't keep them :censored: :censored:

I did just watch it, and am sitting here in bits now :'( :'(
If ever there's a message to hit hard, that's it :'(
-
gumtree - aberdeen, bath and belfast done - anyone else want to put some on 6 down about 50 to go......
I've got to go and cuddle something.

What is the video about ?? Sorry I cant watch anything sad/cruel/distressing/shocking :'( It's just the way I am :shy:
-
Stuart, the video is about an American animal shelter doing pts on unclaimed strays.
Might be best if you didnt watch it.

It's a harsh look at the real world Stuart :'( But if it makes people think about what they're doing when they want their babe to have a litter so they can see how cute her kittens/pups will look, it will have done some good
-
I found this really distressing, I cried for ages afterwards. As I clicked on it I knew I shouldn't and couldn't watch it the whole way through.
I found myself so thankful for places like CPL and all of the independant rescues out there, without them the same thing could have happened to all of my cats(except garf) as I know they were in care much longer than 4 days.

Unfortunately, posting on sites like Purrs is preaching to the converted. However, I have cross posted on Pet Forum with warning
-
Thx for the warning, I won't watch that, I'm too soft :'(
I'll put a link to it on My Bebo page, for others to watch
with the heading
REMEMBER, AN ANIMAL IS FOR LIFE NO MATTER WHAT !!!

Not necessarily, this is an open forum and has many visitors who don't actually join........it only takes one to realise what they are doing by adding to an already out of control problem to make a difference, however small.

I've had an email from someone who saw one of my 'do buy pups from byb' postings before and ranted to tell me how good she is. I sent her the link and she did make a valid point that quite a few rescues do refuse to home and perhaps should do more to support a new owner - though of course who would have the time to do that.
But it is a valid point......

Some are just set in their ways on how to do things though Ang, I've had a guy on interested in a couple of mine, he lives near the motorway and a train track on the other side, already had to have his last one pts because of road injuries but thinks it's cruel keeping them in and he still thinks I'm going to rehome to him :tired:
-
I take your point, Dawn, though I wasn't actually meaning that the link shouldn't have been posted here.
-
I think that's the saddest thing I've ever seen. Heartbreaking :'(
-
It says at the start of that video that every 6.5 seconds an animal rescue dies - do we actually have statistics for this country?
-
I braced myself and watched it. You don't see any animals die in the film. It is basically the techs saying they have to do what they do as so many more animals are brought in every day. They cry as they say dogs are wagging tails on their way thinking they are going home. Cats crying for help and they can't give it :'( - There is a still at the end showing dogs and cats laid out on the floor. It is like a holocaust - all caused by selfish humans :(
-
That was in 2004 in the States - what is the situation in this country?
-
Not alot different Yvonne :( its kept alot more hush hush
-
This is so heartbreaking to watch and im sitting here in tears :'( those poor animals, still so trusting right to the end :(
-
If you look up the annual reports for the big charities they normally details the numher of animals PTS..... one I looked at about 18mths ago from one of the largest in england and wales had (remembering off the top of my head) PTS around 70,000 animals BEFORE they had seen a vet and around another 40,000 after. :'(
I did look at others at the time but this one is the one that always sticks in my mind! (wonder why :tired: )
-
I think the worst of it is, some people will watch this video and still continue to breed :sneaky:

Yes maybe the situation would be better if we could spay & neuter the root cause - ie the pikey BSBs :innocent:
