Title: Cross Eyed cat

It's a while since I last posted on here, but could do with some advice, Digby, my 11 yr old scardey cat is looking slightly cross eyed - yesterday his 3rd eyelids were visible, but today they seem to be back more to normal, but he still looks slightly cross-eyed.  Any suggestions?

Vet time!!! I would think that if he has not had cross eyes before that the chances are he has had either a bang on the head, or a minor stroke - so vet, within the next 24 hours.

i was going to ask if he'd had a bang on the head.   my Lupus quite often goes crosseyed before falling over but that is a symptomof his brain damage.  definitely get him check out.

Thanks, I thought it needed looking at quickly so have appointment for 5:15 tonight.  Fingers crossed.  He seems OK in himself, maybe even more affectionate than normal.  Will post an update later.

Vet is not sure what is wrong so Synolux & Metacam injections & back on Monday for bloods if no improvement.  He's now isolated from my other cat(s) - one mine, one semi-feral who's adopted us.  Digby really is feeling sorry for himself - nearly fell asleep on scales at Vets but he normally goes really submissive there anyway - has slight upset tummy now, and has lost weight since last year (only 5.1 kg down to 4.8) but as he's 11 vet mentioned possible kidney problems.  Fingers crossed it's just an infection & the drugs will work.  No temperature though.  Will update on how he's doing.

Digby definately feeling sorry for himself today, taken refuge in the cat carrier - is he telling me he needs to go back to the vet? Normally can't get him within 10 ft of the thing without an almighty stand-off. Hopefully anti-biotics will kick in soon - been 24 hrs now. Keeping fingers crossed,

So far so good, he's been a good boy taking his tablets, and he ate his breakfast quickly this morning, so getting back to normal. One worrying thing is his urine looked very yellow in litter tray (I use the crystal type litter, so it's very noticeable), but I suppose if his tummy was upset previously this may be normal.  He does seem fairly bright in himself, third eyelid has receded a lot, and he's a lot more vocal about being shut in!

Glad he is getting better  :)

Darker coloured urine usually means need to drink more or can be down to what he's taking but hopefully that will sort out now he's eating and drinking again and getting back to normal.

Is it concentrated or is it yellow? The latter is a sign of liver issue, millys wee went a yellowy green fluorescent colour, dont write things off to your imagination  :hug:

Concentrated I think, but have another vet appt. tonight so will discuss it with him.  Digby seems much brighter today again   ;D- desperate to go out and not as sleepy all the time, but third eyelid still slightly up, guess the vet may want to run some bloods, and I think I would be happier if anything too sinister can be ruled out.

 ;D Vet happy that whatever it was clearing nicely (could have been something he ate) so on anti-biotics for next 5 days, but can go out again - hurray - was getting really fed up being indoors, especially in this lovely weather.  Thanks to all who have offered advice and positive thoughts this week.  Cheers.
