Sorry nothing to do with cats, but I had dreads put in my hair last week and I wantd to show them off!! ;D
I am really pleased with them, I was a guinea pig for my hairdresser friend - I was her first non-practise head so I think she's done pretty well!!

oooh, very nice. the back looks incredible!!!!
not sure i could cope with not washing them myself, but i am a fan!!!
how long did she take to do them?????
-
Excellent, they look really cool Emma, she's done a great job 8)
I used to have dreads m'self once, when I had hair :-[
-
WOW they are stunning? :wow:
I love the colours too xx
-
Thank you :)
Yeah I like the colours cause I dont have too much trouble with finding clothes to match my hair!
It took my mate 4 1/2 hours to do  But well worth it cause its soooo nice to not have to style my hair all the time. It used to take me 2 hours to wash, dry and straighten my hair. But I must admit, its weird not washing my hair! You only wash it once a week. I'm doing mine tonight for first time!!
-
2 hours a day - bloomin heck luv!!!!!
well this is a well earned break for you then!!!!
nervous bout washing them?
bet your mates well chuffed with her work!
-
Washing 'em should be fine - its just drying them that'll be a pain cause they're gonna be so heavy I'll have to drape them over a chair until they dry. Its a great excuse to sit and watch telly all night while bossing OH around!! :evillaugh:
My mate is chuffed yeah, she's trying to go semi-pro now so I'm her walking advertisement!
-
Cool! I do my own and it takes me 12 hours to put them in, lol
-
have to admit i like "fresh" dreads and your are lovely and you really suit them (i wouldnt)
but
I dont like the "matts" stage !!!
do they always have to get to that stage where you have to cut them off or can you take them out before then?
also
how do they actually do it, plaiting ??
-
Your hair looks awsome :)
-
Lynn - mine are all synthetic, so they are just braided nto my hair. They are double-ended dreads, you plait one end into your own hair and the other end of dread hangs loose. These ones are temporary ones - you have to take them out after 2-3 months or your hair starts to dread into them!
After 2-3 months I can just take them out (dont need to cut my hair or anything) and they can be wshed and re-used. Mine were quite cheap tho so I'll probably just buy new ones.
-
Real dreads are nasty, i know of someone who took theirs out and found money and lots of other interesting stuff! They stink real bad as well ?
-
oh yeah i remember someone having them cut off in channel 4s "the salon" a couple of years ago...now that really was nasty, you'd be prosecuted letting an animal get into that state LOL
-
Absolutely wicked! Your friend's done a brilliant job. (Helps that she's got such a pretty model, though!) :)

Awwwwww?how nice of you to say that :innocent:
-
Your hair looks great emma, I love those colours, they were my sisters fave colours. Sarah always wore them either one or the other or both together lol
-
Oooooh pretty! I wish I was brave enough to get something like that done... my hair is reeeeeeeeally long, fine and silky and very impossible to do anything except a plait, ponytail or bun with.
-
I think you've pulled Emma!!! (wink wink Jack!)
I can't have mine done being a teacher - I can't even have cool coloured hair like yours :( But if I ever could I would!Would have to grow it first - and I'm not sure blondes really suit dreads!
-
Beautiful Emma!
And Kelly, blonde dreads can look amazing too! Just think - Angelina Jolie in Gone in 60 Seconds!
-
I hate to shatter the illusion but I aint no Angelina Jolie - not even close :'(
-
You don't need to be! Dreads are great :)

Lol, Kelly! I'm a girl.....with a fiance! :) I just know when somebody's pretty!
-
:P And who says being a girl is necessarily any impediment to pulling Emma? Not that I know one way or t'other, mind...
-
Hmmm.....fair point! Although, with ME being straight that might make a bit of a difference! :)
Pretty sure Emma's mentioned a B/F too, Rebecca. Sorry to put a dampener on any plans for a blossoming romance you might have for the two of us!
-
Lol, I come back to the thread and look whats happened *grins*
Being a girl is certainly no impediment to pulling me! :innocent:
But yes, it does help if the other party is not straight with a fiance :evillaugh:
-
I'm not imagining it, though....you HAVE mentioned a B/F haven't you?(Just clarifying for the state of my sanity! Pretty sure I remember reading it in one of your posts.) Either way, your partner(if you have one!) is very lucky! :)
-
this thread has turned very funny LOL
the two girls who have fiances..i was thinking you could go for a 4some
-
Nah, Lynn. It's not my bag! Mind, you seem to be quick to think up these sort of ideas..... :evillaugh:!
-
 i've said before, my mind lives in the gutter at times :ok:
-
You guys are making me laugh
No, you're not going mad, I do have OH...and yes he's a guy! I'm a 'love everyone' kind of girl tho, lol! Nah, gender and stuff just aint an issue for me.
My OH definitly thinks he is a lucky one cause of that!!!
I think I'm making myself sound bad here!! :-[
-
S'alright, Emma. I know what you mean! Lynn, you're terrible....if your mind lives in the gutter at times, I would think that your dh thinks he's pretty lucky, too!
Wow, this thread has gone way off topic! Cool dreads, Emma! (Vague attempt to put it back on course!)
-
Think thats my bad - sorry! Was just a silly school yard reaction - being a teacher makes you revert to your childhood!!! You're lucky I'm not singing 'Emma and Jack up a tree......'
-
Hiya, Wow they look gorge....You're a real lucky cow (soz) I've been wanting dreads for over a year but unfortunatly can't afford to have them done, mine were going to be blonde like A.J in Gone in 60 secs but with dark green, Black n' dark purple strands or braiding through.
Lucky Lucky lucky, lol I'm real envious!!!
They look Fab! :P

I know, I only had mine done cause my mate did them for free for me. It still cost me £40-odd for the hair tho! Whereabouts do you live? My mate charges £90 down here including the dreads, but when she was in London they were charging £150!! Quite a lot for 3 months wear methinks.
I love blonde dreads, my friend has them with hot pink running through, they're lush!
There we go see, back on topic and away from me sordid lifestyle!! :evillaugh:
-
jack..mmm i dunno if he does, i'd probably describe him as abit prudish when it comes to joking or talkin about such things but no complaints when the two of us behind closed doors .
-
Nuff said! ;)
