Right, I haven't got any of my cats entered into this but I've been having a nose and also voting for one cat in purrrticular.
I don't get the sorting system on the site - if you sort it by 'popular' the first cat that comes up has 4 stars and the second might have 5 - so how is the 1st cat more popular?
Is it because overall they might have more clicks which means they might have 4 stars + 4 stars + 4 stars and the other cat might have 5 stars rated twice so a lower overall 'score'?
I just wondered how they are working it out ;D

I wondered about that as well. I think you are probably right about it being the number of clicks
-
I am as confused as you and have never been able to figure this out.
I would like to see much more openess when there are competitions and me of little faith , when it comes to results being true.......... :shify: :shify:

Yes Dawn I think thats right. although the first cat has only 4 stars it may of recieved more clicks than the rest with 5 stars. So even tho some cats have 5 stars does not mean its in first place.
I think its a matter of how many clicks (votes) above cuteness.

I think the number of stars is a bit of a red herring. I'm guessing that it's the number of votes that count rather than the number of stars. Or at least, the stars may only count if there is a tie. You may think that a cat is only getting 5 stars, but you don't know everyone who is voting. I think the no of stars is probably an average.

the stars will be the average obviously for example a vote of 2 stars and a vote of 5 stars aquires a overall vote of 3.5 stars!
Also the cats are in order of newest to oldest entered

Yeah but what I mean is if you sort them by 'popular' some with 4 stars are before some with 5!
I think CC is right with it being number of clicks over cuteness ;D
