Seriously. Been working from home this week, got a mammoth report to get in. Anyway had to pop into the Town Hall for a quick meeting and on my way out there was a lad of no more that about 11 stood by the main doors clutching a shopping trolley with one hand a tiny bundle of fur in the other. I stopped and made all the usual oohing and ahhing noises. The kitten was a cutie and the little man told me her name and said that she was 6 weeks old. He has only had her a couple of days and was quite proud of her and you could see it in his face. I did point out that little ones wriggle and scratch and that she looked frightened and that if she got away she might end up under a bus and could he please take extra care? He said that yes he knew, but when he was out he put her in the shopping trolley!
I am afraid at this point I had to walk away 'cause I could feel a lecture coming on.
Makes me wonder if he will still be oohing and ahhing over her in 6 months?

You do not know how tempted I was to say let me give her a good home for the 20 years or so that you are now committed to! That is why I had to walk away, I was about to launch into the who, 6 weeks is too young to be away from momma, have you thought about fleaing and worming, what about diet andof course you will get her neutered won't you type conversation.

I met my first ever bengal on a leash in Hatton Garden being taken shopping by its owner. I presume that if they survive the experience they come to enjoy it (this one was wrapped around her neck like a stole). Mind you she would have been in a pickle if it had jumped off on the wrong side as the leash would have tightened around her neck :evillaugh:
Some people are just born stupid - you can't save them from themselves, and unfortunately their animals suffer from their behaviour from time to time - but you can't legislate against stupidity or half of parliament would be in jail.
