Title: Anyone have a zooplus ceiling height cat tree?
Post by: Beth on April 07, 2009, 13:12:39 PM
am thinking of getting one of these two for my girlies:

and was just wondering if anyone had them, and how easy they are to attach to the ceiling.... :scared:

If they are similar to mine, which they look they are, they simply use pressure to hold them against the ceiling.  You screw the last bit on the top and then tighten it against the ceiling.

They look very good value for money - if you decide to get one let me know if you are pleased with it - mine are due a new one and their last one cost over £100.

I wouldn't go with the first one.  I bought one of these

and it ended up like this

I wouldn't trust any of the zooplus ones with a hammock hanging over the side.  The plastic discs that hold the tubes together just aren't strong enough when there is a cat in the hammock.  Jaffa isn't a huge cat (under 5kg) but you can see how it leans here

Maybe that's why mine was over £100 then.  It has a square hammock type bed on one side and although it does lean if 7.5kg Felix gets in it, I've had for about two years now and it is still in one piece, although the carpet and the sisal are vanishing now.

Beth, worth having a look at Grange Pet Centre in Botley - that's where I got mine from.

They do deliveries which I think are free if it's over £50 and they're not that far from you I don't think, sort of halfway between us.

Thanks for the replies you two :) i think i'll give the zoo plus trees a miss! Lesley, thanks for the link, think they're a bit too much at the moment, have just had to hand over my life savings for car insurance so am about as skint as can be at the moment.

Have been rethinking things and wondering how to give them some fun things to climb on a budget and i'm wondering if a series of shelves on the wall coupled with a few wall attached cat hammocks might do the same thing but be cheaper and stronger... :shify: Will have to chat up my mum to come and drill lots of holes in the wall for me. :evillaugh:
