Title: Sequence Of Events Re Fleas & Worms ?
Post by: moongirl on April 01, 2009, 18:27:28 PM
Hi,

Is there a preferred sequence of events when treating for fleas and worms ? Logically, I would have thought treat fleas first with Frontline then a few days later treat worms with Drontal.

Any views appreciated.

Rgds

If fleas are present then you want rid of them asap, iv wormed and flea'd at the same time with those 2 products

If you are using one spot on and one tablet, I would do them at the same time, it is only if using two spot ons there should be a gap.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I flea one weekend and throw tablets down the next. A vet told me it lessens the "Toxic load".

I always space out flea and worm treatments, as well as not using either any time close to a vaccination. If, for example i'd rescued a cat riddled with both, i'd probably do both together just that once.

I would guess fleas first, but i know one carries the lavae of t'other but i can't remember which way 'round it goes.
