My hands have been fairly steady today :) little to no shaking and grip actually working... so I grabbed the opportunity to do some drawing :D
Here's the results
(http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r49/CityKittyFish/tabby.jpg)
drawn in Adobe Illustrator, coloured in Photoshop
hope you like her
-
Super, I love it.
I started Illustrator at school but find it very difficult
-
Well done - she's lovely.
Mary
-
Yes well done, she is fab
-
Thats lovely! Well done :)
-
Well done it's really nice :) How do you get the lines so be so smooth?
Bear in mind I drew this in year 8 hence the freaky paws and the fact I used HB pencils on shiny paper :evillaugh: but i've always done rather rough outlines in my drawings, If I try to create lovely clean lines I lose all sense of proportion :scared: I wish I still felt artistic, I want to draw again!

I draw entirely on the computer these days, hence the smooth lines :) Illustrator has brush settings so I can tell it to imitate ink or a paintbrush (as I have done here) to make it a little less like plain digital art
here's todays effort
since I am having issues with my hands am relying heavily on undo until I get it right :)
that dalmation is soooo good! looks like he's about to bound off any second!
{Edit} as photobucket hates me it seems have attached instead
-
I can't make the picture work - I just get a little box in the corner of a frame - the box has an X in it :(
-
Great pics IM & Zenith ;D well done! I can't draw like that on my puter only by hand. I once tried to draw a diagram of the brain for my OU course and I just had to do it by hand, photo it and transfer to puter. Does it take alot of practise?

nor I :-:

updated with the image
sorry
-
Thank you - and more than worth waiting for ! :Luv2: Do you base your cat pictures on your cats or is it just a gift for drawing kitties ?
Edit - "just" is hardly the right word - but you know what I mean I hope :)
-
I base them on a mix of my cats and google images (for poses my boys refuse to do) just so I know I am getting the proportions accurate. I can draw them free hand but they don't have the realism in pose and movement I like

Its facinating - my daughter is a visual artist and teaches art - there are so many different mediums that were not available when I was learning. Digital art for example. Might be wrong to post her website address cos Im not trying to advertise, but if any one is interested I could PM :briggin:
-
I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil, according to my parents my first recognisable picture was our dog when I was 2 (a circle with 4 legs and a big tongue  )
I love digital drawing because you can tweak it so easily without starting over, I also love the clean lines, modern looking stuff like the pictures I am working on. Have been training in art/design since I was about 13, knowing then I wanted a creative job... alas yet to find one in Animation or Design :(
-
Its not easy is it .... Do you have a Website? I know Anne - my daughter - has picked up work through hers :briggin: Its her first attempt at a Website but seems to have been relatively easy to set up and profitable. If nothing else, I can keep up with what she is up to :naughty:
-
had a website but my server went down and took it with it... and can I find the backup? of course not lol
Am kinda working on a new one though :) will get there eventually :innocent: after I finish the garden etc
oh I know this isn't a drawing but is an arty photo of Misha (in my bath)

Aww :Luv: He is growing up fast :Luv:
-
I love drawings especially when you show action poses as you can really imagine the movement of the puds ;D
Wibblechick, do you mind PM'ing me your daughter's website? :)
Thanks for the dalmation compliment. I found my old sketchbook a few months ago and I will make time soon and draw again I hope :) I like this collie I drew aged 13 in the same sketchbook but as I was only in year 8 I used HB pencil on shiny paper then got a brown colouring pencil and butchered the drawing!

I won't hijack your cat art thread anymore as they aren't cats. I can't draw them, as evidenced by this :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

Hi, that looks great,
When I read the title of the posting I got confused and thought it was about art BY cats in which case I was going to post this watercolour portrait of Frankie that Alfie knocked up in a few idle hours whilst I was at work the other day:
The artist "Alfredo" at work: ;D

Nice one Leigh, love it :evillaugh: Frankie and Alfie :Luv:

I keep telling him that he should turn professional and sell some of his work to help out and pay the mortgage but it's just a hobby thing with him, you know how it is with these "artistic" temperament types ;D
BTW just noticed your sig, I've picked my pensioner (my mum) and she's coming over for lunch on Saturday ;D
Cheers

I love drawing but i'm no where near as good as you lot :)

in reference to art by cats... Wibblechick, watch your postbox tomorrow
:naughty: ;)
lovin your boys Leigh
-
Alfredo has an amazing eye for detail, he can even paint in the middle of the night, generally he prefers natural light, and his "Lonely lampost - glowing gnome at midnight" composition has, IMO, a spooky, surreal feel to it.

hey
Now Wibblechick has received her mail :) I can unveil these, my newest suncatcher designs
Firstly, a stylized portrait of Chloe and Mr T that I sent to Wibblechick
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3605/3390435858_714759198c_m.jpg)
And I am happy to report that it is apparently the cats whiskers :evillaugh:
and the second design
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3617/3389625435_a30f5e550e_m.jpg)
Which still needs a bit of work, primarily the cat is going fully ginger as I kinda forgot... no white ink :stupid: so it looks a little odd actually made
Am also looking at getting them printed onto tshirts for me to wear to cat shows etc 8)
-
:Luv: It really is beautiful and deserves to be shown off - :Luv2:
Again, thank you so much :)
-
I did wonder why you hadnt done cats ;D ;D
make sure you put your web addy on the Tshirts too :shify: :shify:
-
They are lovely! ;D
