Hi folks,
Just perusing my home cameras and this sight greeted me!
I distinctly remember saying to the boys, "If you fancy a practice please use the headphones lads as our new neighbours probably won't appreciate the noise".
Do they listen, do they stuff!!, there'll be hell to pay for this from the neighbours. Once, just once!, will they listen to what I'm saying ;D
Cheers
Leigh

-
glad they don't live next to me!!
-
If you open the window Dawn you'll probably be able to hear them! :)
Normally watching the CCTV is like waiting for a bus, wait ages and then suddenly two (cats) come along at the same time! :)
Cheers
Leigh

Who's the little girl and who is Andy Pandy? :shify: :shify: :shify: :evillaugh:
-
Hiya,
Carol Hersee was the little girl, she was born one year before me and Andy Pandy was a clown, no, literally it was a clown :) :)
:evillaugh:
-

-
OO do you know I never thought of him as a clown and loved watching his show......I loathe clowns..... :scared:
-
The little girl had a clown, Andy Pandy wasn't a clown!, then again, maybe he was but I didn't really know him that well so I can't really say, anyway I preferred Muffin The Mule :)

So sorry Leigh....my mind is a wandering mass so lets get back on track! :evillaugh:
-
Andy Pandy was a clown doll and his friends were Luby Lu and Teddy*.
*I think I'm right about the teddy being called Teddy, but am prepared to be corrected. ;)

Wasn't he a little boy in a romper suit? - I don't think he was a clown

Check Baz's Mum's post (13) for a picture, Mark. Is that a clown? The people must speak :evillaugh:
-
I think it's a 1950's romper suit :evillaugh: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjK0ION3ZQk&feature=related

You've convinced me  That was a gentler age, wasn't it?
-
I never really thought of him as a clown, couldn't stand him though, thought he was very boring
-
I love this Jane Horrocks sketch "Watch with nanny" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fpOvv2VFJY&feature=related
I loved all the watch with mother shows. They were probably old when I saw them around 1966/7.

Certainly was :)
-
I loved all the watch with mother shows.
I liked The Woodentops best - to this day I do a memorable Spotty Dog impression
-
I think it's a 1950's romper suit
I've still got mine along with my kipper tie and flares :evillaugh:
Yes it was a gentler (and less PC) time Chris, halcyon days, "Oh those lazy, crazy, hazy days of summer....." ;D
Edit, I loved the Wooden Tops they don't make 'em like that any more!!!
I remember "Listen with mother" rather than "watch with mother" ?
-

Or in your own case, Leigh, still crazy after all these YEARS
-
Nicest thing anyone has said to me all day Chris! :), as the saying goes "there's no fool like any old fool" :)
-
I remember "Listen with mother" rather than "watch with mother" ?
Ooh yes! I'd forgotten that. It was wonderful. Wasn't it broadcast at 14.15- 14.30 Monday - Friday? On what was then called the Home Service?
-
I remember listening to it at Primary School with the teacher and other kids
just googled it:
http://www.whirligig-tv.co.uk/radio/lwm.htm (http://www.whirligig-tv.co.uk/radio/lwm.htm)
Watch out for "Mitten the Kitten"
Actually I think the woman on the top left looks VERY scarey glad it was pre-TV :)
I like this quote from the website "It wasn't only children who listened, but seamen on board ship were also regular listeners"
:censored: it must be a lonely life out at sea!!!! :)
This is the bit I remember:
"Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin! "
-
Ive got a copy of that "Mitten the Kitten" book - I loved it and so did my daughter. "Im Mitten the Kitten, the Kitten with a Mitten! Im Mitten the Kitten! Yo Ho!!" They dont write 'em like that any more :evillaugh:
-
Enjoy :)

Leigh you had better tell Frankie and Alfie to be quiet - you might need to ask that kind lady to look after them sometime
Mary ;)
-
I'll have to replace the battery in her hearing aid first chuck :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
-
You sound like my mother Leigh!!! Don't you think I've heard enough about her chuffin hearing aid for the last few weeks ?
-
Not so much a case of your mother rather I think I've turned into my dad ;D ;D
-
 at the pic!
Andy Pandy was one of my favourite programmes when I was tiny ;D
-
Actually at this very moment in time Alfie is warming up the settee for me and Frankie is warming up the bed how considerate is that?! :) I love cat watching :)
Don't go getting me wrong, I've got absolutely nothing against Andy Pandy or his associates, they seem like decent enough folk to me ;D

Oh my goodnes, I remember that - I must be older than I look :evillaugh:
-
ok... I have to ask
does anyone else think Andy Pandy looks like Baby Lee Evans?
I am so glad my parents gave me 'old fashioned' toys and cardboard boxes... also I had *one* Barbie, if she had to change career she changed her clothes, not a new £50 collection of stuff!
Those boys look so comfy warming the sofa/settee... and they are eco friendly :)
