Title: skin problem
Post by: Millies mum on March 20, 2009, 10:45:20 AM
Hi i have looked on the threads for skin problems but can't seem to find what my sisters kitten has got on her face/head.
last week she had a sore on her head and next to it a patch of hair was missing i said she'd probably jumped and fell or something had dropped on her head but i saw her yesterday and another sore has appeared it is a small red pin prick and when heals leaves a bald patch
My sister is panicking as this is her first kitten and she's really protective of her so i said i'd ask the forum as you all give brilliant advice before she books her into the vets  :thanks:

I don't know what ring worm looks like the kitten does not go out side, but they do have guinea pigs that live in the house

I second the vet check. It could be anything really - even a reaction to a flea bite.

Thanks for your help my sister called the vets and they suggested that it is probably a reaction to something or acne and to keep an eye on her :thanks:

If it is ringworm then the sooner its treated the better, its very contagious so your sister would be likely to get it and if theres children they would be susceptible too, infects the environment for a long time  :scared:

just to update you on my sisters kitten, she took her to the vets yesterday he said she has an allergy to what we don't know, so she had an injection at the vets and we just have to see how she gets on now
