Title: Cool cat trees in PAH
Post by: Susanne (urbantigers) on March 14, 2009, 18:27:53 PM
Had a browse in PAH today and they seem to have lots of new stuff (new since I was last there, at least).  They had some new cat trees by Karlie which were pretty good.  By good, I mean I liked the design and they had bits that I think my 2 would use.  They had fat posts and one has a rope that was attached at both ends but slack, if that makes sense, which I think Mosi would love.  They are probably cardboard posts but I'm not sure and might, therefore, have the same problems as most of those sort tend to have - ie not as stable as solid wood and can snap if badly designed.  If they are cardboard, I'm sure you can get cheaper but I liked the designs.  They had a couple of large ones though that I just know Jaffa and Mosi would love (just got to save up £199 now!!).

OMG - just found this on amazon (didn't have this one in the shop)  ;D

Can't decide whether that's fab or not!

I don't like it, but I'm not sure why! Will check out the others though. :)

What are those curved things down the sides?

They look like scrunchy tunnels!  ;)

It is quite a monster..... :innocent: I bet the cats would have fun on it though!  ;)

That looks brilliant - my two would love it.......although, have my doubts that Harvey would fit through the tunnels.   :-[

I'm all for having cat toys but not ones bigger than my own stuff!

I ended up getting Memphis his tree* from PAH last year. It's fab - not too big, not too small. Wasn't expensive (30 something pounds). Nice and sturdy even though it is made with cardboard and it was really easy to assemble.

Memph looks huge compared to it in this pic  :evillaugh: but in reality it is the perfect size for him

mine is about 5ft - I won't have one that is taller than me!

as an aside I don't normally have pics on but its lunchtime so who cares and memphis is not how I imagined him, funny how you get an idea in your head!  don't know why I thought he'd be ginger!  he has great eyes!!

His tree is a little over 3ft which I think is plenty tall enough - especially for the size of the room. It took months to find a tree for him - they were either far too big [had no where to put them] or I felt they were too little and didn't have enough things to occupy him.

Dawn I had no idea you didn't realise what he looks like

Here is a much better picture showing off those eyes  :Luv:

Ah, the lovely Memphy  :Luv: :Luv:

My boys have a ceiling high one but it has been it 2 pieces for some time now since it broke.  It really needs sorting, but the way it is at the moment, Jaffa loves sleeping in the hammock and I'm reluctant to change something that works (plus I'm lazy ).  Mosi says that the taller the better and when he has his manic moments I have to agree!

Funny but I was looking at that one from PAH yesterday and thinking of getting it for the boys for in the hall.  I currently have one of those small ones from Lidl (remember when we all bought them ages ago?) but it's never been right and it is very wobbly plus the scratch pad bit at the side fell off and I could never work out how to get it back on.  But Jaffa uses it a lot to sit on when I'm in the bathroom and he wants to get out from under Mosi's paws.  The one in the pic above is taller but has a similar size footprint.  I might get them that for easter  ;D
