Title: Let's all wish for a happy month.
Post by: maryas on March 06, 2009, 21:27:54 PM
Just before Christmas and the last 2 months and even the start of March just seems to be such a sad time for us all.

Many cats that we know and love have gone missing, PTS or been very ill.

It's so nice that we are all here for each other and we can cry together but I just wish we could be tear free for a while (forever really, but we know that will never be).

 :Flowers: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :ahh:

Let's see who can tell us the happiest or funniest story.

I'll start off:

Bonnie's been having cat grass in the house for a while now and she jumped up on the kitchen sink to get some (don't know why cos it's in the living room) - she soon found out it was chives!!!

I was thinking the same, Mary.  Of course though, when once we opened our hearts, we chose tears

I haven't a good story immediately, but I will say that for the love that it shares, Purrs is the best site on the internet

Thank you for starting this Mary cos you are right its been a terrible few months but Purrs and its peeps are the greatest  ;D

A happy story, well I guess you know what mine is........... I still have Franta and he is doing so well after a terrible 3 weeks. 3 weeks ago tonight right about this time I was driving back from am emergency vets in Swansea after Franta had a terribble terrible seizure in the car on the way home from my vets on the Gower. He stayed there all weekend.

I thought I was losing him and spent all weekend in tears and all of the great people here gave me so much support.

Today he is nearly his cheeky self, a bit quieter and more reclusive but no more seizures, yes his tummy is a bit dicky but my babyman with his blue eyes is wonderful  ;D

I would also like to give lots of these to all those who have not been so lucky cos my heart breaks for you

Funny about the chives Mary  :evillaugh: and so heartwarming about Franta Gill  :Luv2:

My funny story, my friend brought her cat over for a bath and blow dry the other week and she hadnt met BB before. She took one look at BB and said oh my god look at those eyes, it looks like she's had botox! and took this pic of her - I can kind of see what she means  :evillaugh:

I had a lovely half hour with Jaffa earlier.  He's been driving me up the wall this week demanding attention when I'm busy, and he started his usual pacing up and down demanding supper about 9.45pm.  But instead of trying to fend him off or moaning at him I just gave him loads of attention and cuddles, plus a bit of play with a feather, and the little lad was so happy he didn't stop purring for nearly an hour.  He's such a sweet little boy and his eyes are looking really good tonight (always a bit gungy and haven't been too good of late).  I'm so glad he's my little boy, even if he does scratch me in the eye sometimes!  The little lad is so loving.

We've also got a bit of a cat thing going on at work which is really nice after the recent spate of irresponsible colleagues at my previous library.  One colleague has recently adopted an adult cat and is besotted, and there are a few others who have cats or who love cats.  So we spend a fair bit of time oohing and aahing over cats!   ;D

I am so pleased you have given Jaffa the attention he wanted and see what a lovely reward he gave you  ;D

I think that cats give back just as much as we give them, if not more  ;D

Excellent thread!

My happy story is that I've just come back from a balloon ride! The Munchkin couldn't work out what was going on when we were up at 5.30. I told him but I knew he didn't believe me. However, I now have a certificate from that nice Mr Branson to prove it!  :)

It was great fun and really not scarey at all ! ;D I hardly had a wink of sleep last night for fear of not waking up and through nerves but I'm too wired now to go back to bed! I can thoroughly recommend it and I would definitely do it again given half a chance. OH and The Munchkin are now suitably impressed!

Cat grass isn't growing fast enough so I've just had to go outside in the freezing cold and move the snow away from the grass and find a few strands of decent green grass to give to Bonnie.

Meanwhile inside the house she is laid on my/our bed with the central heating on.  :evillaugh:   :Luv2: :Luv2:

Oh I do love my little darling.  :Luv2:
