Hard to explane where it is but here goes
Itss sort of in her back leg at the top...to the side...in the fatty bit...before it gets to her tail !
Will be taking her to vet tomorrow (if my vet is on) if not monday.
Really silly but i'm well worried about it
Any ideas ?
-
Did you see Alice's thread last week? - it turned out t be a fatty lump which is probably all Issey's is - definitely a good idea to get it checked.
I'm sure it will be fine Michelle
-
Any ideas ?
That is in the exact same place as Blip's fatty lump. If I were a betting woman, I'd give good money that that's what Issey has there too.
-
Hope it's nothing untoward, let us know how she gets on
-
hope all goes well at the vets
-
Smartie had one there and i had it removed -it was a fatty lump too .
Sohie had one on her chest that was removed and also a fatty lump -she now has another in the same place as Issey ! Probably another fatty lump - not sure whether to have this removed as well as she is almost 15 and its not bothering her.
-
That's where Edward's lump was.
Which is not to worry you, because as it turned out, the lump at the top of his leg turned out to be inflamation due to arthritis, and the more sinister one was under his leg.
But really wishing you good luck with all my heart, and that you get good news about it.
-
Aw thanks guys  especially as some of you have had it in the same place (well your cats hehe)
I facebooked my vet (as you do lol) and he just texted me to say he is away till monday so i will wait and see him then (dont want to see a locom as its not an emergency)
Mark, wheres your thread ?
-
http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,22697.0.html
Alice's thread cam undone and ended up as Willow's thread - so I started Willow a new one today - so 2 false alarms + Clapton's allergy sorted and £220 down
-
Hope the lump is nothing to worry about - looking forward to a positive update
-
Ok here goes -
Its not a fatty lump :'(
My Vet thinks it might be Lymphoma :'(
He wants to try antibiotics first though just incase so she has had an injection but it the lump hasnt gone down by thursday evening I have to take her in on Friday for a biopsy :'(
The ones in her neck are also bigger than they should be :'(
-
what a worry for you - I do hope it isn't as bad as you fear
-
Oh No  Have everything crossed that the antibiotics work and it's not a lymphoma  Please give her a gentle :care: from me
-
I am googling it but getting really confused... Also now cant remember what he was saying
Lymphoma isnt FeLV is it ?
He said about removing the lymph and then all the muscle around the leg which is difficult.....so i said do you mean removing the leg and he said yes
but then he threw another few words in and i cant remember them. (something about the type of Lymphoma)
He also said something about if it has travelled
(sorry just panicing )
-
Sorry Michelle but a Lymphoma is a tumour - hopefully it will be a benign one
-
I am sorry to hear that Issey's lump might be lymphoma, but as your vet thinks it could be an infection, I do so hope it is
I gather that lymphoma is more prevalent in cats with FeLV but, as I understand it, it does not necessarily mean that a cat has FeLV.
I hope the antibiotics do the trick for Issey
-
I'm Sorry that Issey has a lump :( Has the vet done test's on it ?? why does he think it's Lymphoma ??
don't know if you know this But My Misty has lymphosarcoma :'( but He is doing ok for now :shy:
seems a bit drastic to be speaking about amputation without doing test's though??

-

Hi Stuart,
He thinks it might be that because of where the lump is and how it feels, he deff 100% ruled out a cyst or fatty lump.
I went in saying i thought it was a fatty lump ...he felt it and said it wasnt...so i asked what did he think it was...
but he said he wanted to try antibiotics first and if no change then biospy on friday
thing is i ask alot of questions so he gives me the answers....
-
I hope that this is just benign or an infrction
You need to write your questions down and get the vet to write down the answers,
-
thing is i ask alot of questions so he gives me the answers....
Thats the Best Way Michelle, if you don't ask, you don't find out ;)
Misty has a lump near his windpipe, My vet guesses it's just a build up of calcium (because of the way it feel's)
Keeping everything crossed for Issey it's something that can be dealt with
-
Michelle i am sorry Issey has a lump, and i know your vet is a good one because you recomended them a while back when i was concern about my Phoebe, but my Boy has intestinal Lymphoma and was diagnosed in December 2007, but the RVC had to perform a BIOPSY to confirm it. Boy is still with us and doing ok with the treatments.
I agree with Stuart, i think its a bit drastic to be speaking about amputation!
Lets hope the antibiotics help and is not lymphoma.
Sending Issey lots of good vibes. x
-
Im so sorry to hear it could be lymphoma, but like everyone else heres hoping its just an infection, sending lots of positive vibes for Issey and calming ones for you
-
Hopefully is not as serious as first thought
How old is Issey?
-
Sending positive vibes~~~~~
-
FIngers crossed it is just a viral infection infecting her glands. Hope the antibiotics work
-
Keeping everything crossed for you and Issey
-
I know it's not the same, but my dog already has 5 malign tumours removed (mast cell tumours).
So please don't panic too much.
You are in my thoughts
-
Hope the anti'bs bring the lumps down honey, if not, then try not to panic until you know what you're dealing with ..... hard I know
Fingers crossed its not as bad as you are thinking right now
-
How old is Issey?
She is only 5yrs old CC
She has had a hard life. She was found as a feral kitten in a stable, I took her on at about 6wks old.
By 10wks old she had cat flu and calici virus, I nursed her for weeks and nearly lost her a couple of times.
She had terrible breathing problems and when she was 6mths old it was found she had a tumour in her soft pallet, My vet tried to Op on her but she went "blue" under the anthesetic...took them 35mins to get her back.
She was then sent to a hospital where the tumour was successfully removed.
Because of her nearly dieing under anthesetic i was told to delay her being spayed. She came into season a couple of moths later and i told hubby and Son NOT TO LET HER OUT ....but one morning Hubby felt sorry for her and let her in the garden...even though there were 3 stray male cats camped out there !!!!! Hubby heard a strange noise and found the ginger one on top of her
Anyway.....4 beautiful kittens were born, Issey then had mastitis really bad and i had to bottle feed the kittens (We kept all 4 kittens btw)
I caught Daddy one day and sadly he tested positive her FIV....I had Issey and the kids tested but thank goodness they were all negative.
She is still a dedicated Mum and even now Rocky, at 4yrs old, still suckles on her at night
-
Oh I'm so sorry honey but as everyone says, make sure you write down all your questions for the vets and that they do thorough tests before and drastic action. Issey is in the best hands though.
-
So sorry that it could be lymphoma, but even if it doesn't go down, the vets aren't going to know until after a biopsy is done so try to think positive and hopefully either the antibiotics will work or it is one that is benign and can just be removed. Swampy had a post vaccine lump that the vets thought could be fibrosarcoma from examining it, they waited a month, it didn't get any bigger so did a normal lump removal and it was benign.
-
She sounds a little star and a true fighter and survivor. Fingers crossed for her
-
Sadly the lump hasnt responded to antibiotics so Issey will be going in tomorrow for a biopsy :'(
-
Michelle all fingers and paws crossed here at teh Clan for Issey and you for tomorrow
-
Scrap that -
Just phoned and my vet isnt in tomorrow (and i wont have anyone else deal with her) so she is going in Monday, which actually gives the antibiotics a few more days to work :wish:
-
Have everything crossed that the anti-biotics do the trick in the next few days and no biopsy is needed :wish:
-
Fingers crossed she responds
-
Hope the antib's kick in and do their job by then
-
Have only just seen this thread, fingers crossed the biopsy shows it isn't anything serious - it does highlight the importance of not ignoring lumps assuming they are just fatty lumps though
-
Sorry to hear the antibiotics haven't shrunk the lump yet - hope they start working over the weekend.
-
Poor Issey , she has had a real hard life and deserves a break.............loads of good wishes for her
-

Hoping that either the antibiotics work, or as Mark says that it turns out to be benign.
Poor Issey, shes been through so much so she must be a strong kitty, sending lots of positive thoughts for you and her

All that goes for me too
-
Thank You everyone
I am praying like crazy...I REALLY cant lose her :'(
Have spoken to a couple of hospitals this morning, cant believe the fee's they charge :censored:
Sadly Issey isnt insured and the thought that I wouldnt be able to save her because of money is making me feel sick.
Anyway.....I'm getting ahead of myself really....i need to relax and wait till i know for sure what it is
Thanks again xxxxx

Issey is home....
Vet removed the whole Lymph gland rather than doing just a biopsy.
She is doing really well considering she has had quiet a big Op ....
Results should be Thursday
-
Good luck Michelle.
Did they give any advice re making sure she doesn't get any cuts etc. I know my mum has to be extra careful after having her lymph removed.
-
I've got my fingers crossed for Thursday for you and Issey. Glad she seems to be doing ok, give her a gentle stroke from me xx
-
Good luck Michelle.
Did they give any advice re making sure she doesn't get any cuts etc. I know my mum has to be extra careful after having her lymph removed.
No they didnt Mark....but I knew there was something when You had one removed.
Thanks I will ask my vet when I speak to him Thursday.
He did say to keep a close eye on it as it could swell uiet alot.....
I know in humans they put a drain in
-
hope the results are good ones and a gentle cuddle for issey
-
Finger crossed the results are good on Thursday, glad Issey is doing well.
-
Best wishes for you and Issey
-
Sending Tons of Healing vibes Isseys way :care: :care: :care:

I don't know if it is the same for for cats but she said you lose immunity in that area which makes sense. I don't know all the ins & outs though - even though we did something on lymph fluid in biology. I think it is moved around the body by natural movement of muscles.
-
Cuddles for Issey and the best of luck for the results
-
Good luck with the results
-
She's not so good this evening, She seems to be in abit of pain....Cant get comfortable and when she does (mainly on my lap) her tail is swishing !
It is also starting to swell abit which i was warned about (oedema).
But thankfully she has left the stitches alone
xx
-
Give her a gentle :care: from me and the boys
-
Poor Issey - hope the lump turns out to be treatable.
Healing vibes and   from all of here.
-
Did the vet give you any painkillers for her? If not, I would ask them for some today
-
Topping up with some more healilng vibes for Issey, hope she's feeling a bit brighter today  xx
-
hope you get the results quickly and all is well.
-
Did the vet give you any painkillers for her? If not, I would ask them for some today
Desley I have Metacam here and gave her some before I went to bed last night.
Is there something stronger I can ask for if she seems in pain today ?
She is sitting in the garden this morning....seems ok so far
I was thinking though how brave animals are, When my Nan had her lymph node removed from her armpit she was in hospital for 3 days, had 2 drains and needed looking after for a longtime.....animals are so amazing :Luv2:
-

-
Its very clean and looks good .....not had the huge swelling that vet thought she would get

How did I miss this entire thread :-[
Topping up on everyone elses healing vibes x
-
Just rang the vets and her results arn't back .....
One of the VN's is going to ring the Lab this afternoon though.
I don't feel too well today, got an upset tummy :(
Think it is nerves.
Issey is doing well, no swelling and is in the garden...with stitches still untouched :Luv:
-
Michelle  to you and Issey
Re the Odema try masaging her foot this pushes the fluid back up the leg - we had to do this with our RTA boy Puma - he now looks for all his feet to be played with daily
GOod luck with the results and hope all goes well - nice neat wound done by the vet to
-
 hunnie, good luck today x
-
Thinking of you and Issey today  Good luck with the results.
-
Ok.......
The test has come back and said it is malignant :'(
The lab is now going to do another test to find out what strain it is (think my vet said something like B or V)
I asked if it is likely to be contained in just that Lymph node and he said its highly unlikely....
I asked how will we know where it has spend to and he said we would have to wait for it to present somewhere else.
So....
We wait for the next results to come back and then decide on treatment, which is likely to be Chemo
I am so heartbroken :'(
-
Michelle, you're in my thoughts, but please keep up the faith.
Muffin's were all malignant but she lives!!
Take it a day at a time and don't think of the future yet.
-
-
you must be so worried - big  - I hope you will feel better able to cope with this when you know just what you're dealing with
-
I'm so sorry you have had such bad news, but don't give up hope. A friend's cat had chemo 4 years ago and is doing just fine.
-
I can't add any practical words, apart from don't give up hope hunnie
-
- it does highlight the importance of not ignoring lumps assuming they are just fatty lumps though
How true....
Under 2wks week ago i walzed into my vets says its probably just a fatty lump :'(
I found it on the Friday, she was seen on the Monday.....and now look !
Thank You for all the hugs.....
Its so nice to have friends who understand that she isnt just a cat.
Going to go off line now xxxx
-
Oh Michelle. It's so awful when things like this happen - we spend our entire time waiting trying not think the worst. Don't give up hope.
-
Oh that's not the news we were all hoping for is it . Can't offer any advice hun but know that we are all here for you and Issey
-
Michelle not the news you or anyone here was hoping for but can only send positive thoughts from all of us here at the Clan and that you can ljust love Issey for Issey and be strong for you both
-
So sorry to hear this, but hoping that treatment will give her more time
-
That's upsetting news but take one day at a time and don't give up hope just yet
-

My friends 16yr old cat has had lung cancer for the last 3 years, animals are amazing and do survive against many odds
-
I am so sorry sweetheart. Sending the world's biggest hugs and well wishes to you and Issey
-
Sorry Michelle - we were all hoping with you
Poor Issey :'(
-
Sorry to hear this Michelle, let's hope Issey stays well for a long time yet
-

-
So sorry to hear about Issey :( but please dont give up hope we are all here for you
-
Michelle I am sorry hunnie.
Malignant though doesn't mean the end sweetie honestly.
-
  So sorry. Take each day as it comes , we are all here for you.
-
SO sorry to hear your results. Hope Issey is feeling ok and stays well for a long long time
-
I so wish the news was better but like others have said dont give up and wait to see how much she can be helped. You know that you are among friends here and we all understand
-
Oh Michelle, i am sorry its not good news :( But dont give up hope, you need to be strong for Issey.
-
Really sorry to hear that Michelle  As others have said, don't give up hope  Please give her a gentle :care: from me and the boys.
-
My vet has printed off her results .......too many big words for me !!
Diagnosis - Round Cell tumour
Prognosis - Guarded
Descripition:
the tissue examined comprises skin overlying adipose tissue which contains two lymph node structures. Both are expanded and effaced by monomorphic sheets of round cells with scant to moderate amounts of pale eosinophilic vesicular cytoplasm and round to irregular, sometimes notched nuclei with vesicular marginated chromatin and large nucleoli.
there are 2-3 mitoses per high power fiels. Cells form follicular groups in some areas.
Comment:
The appearance is consistent with a round cell tumour. The cell morphology is most consistent with a lymphoma, although as this is a less common presentation of this condition in cats you may wish to confirm this with immunohistochemisty for T and B cell markers.
There are rare cases of null lymphomas but in most cases examination can confirm a diagnosis
-
Oh Michelle Im so heart broken for you and poor wee Issy :(
I know the vet said its cancer but can it be treated? I really hope so
Sending Issy special healing hugs xxx
-
Yes did your vet mention treatment hunnie?
-
We got to wait for the next results to see what type of Cancer it is ... Lymphoma or a Cancer that is somewhere else but has spend to the Lymph nodes
Sadly any treatment we give will be to prolong her life rather than cure the Cancer :'(
If we can give some treatment it will be Chemo. My vet says that cats dont tend have the really bad side effects that humans have...
I have said to my vet that I want to try and "save" her but not at her expense....I love her too much to put her through horrendous treatments to give ME extra time with her.
I would rather her have less time but her quality of life be good.
but obviously I am going to do all that i can to keep her with me, I trust my vet 100% and he is going to guide Me with what to do next
-

-
Oh sweetie  we are all here for you ok x
-
Instinctively you will do the right thing.
We still keep fingers and paws crossed.
-
-

-
:grouphug:
-
How you both doing this morning?
-
Sadly the lymph node in her other leg seems to be enlarged now :(
Seeing the vet Wednesday for the stitches to be taken out so will get him to have a feel.
He did say the ones in her throat were larger but also said that can be normal as they are so close to the mouth
Have been trying to read up on T and B Cell Lymphoma but can't understand a word of it. I'm certainly not thick, just wish they would write in English lol
Anyway, She seems fine.......whicj is the main thing :Luv2:
xxxx
-
Probably best to write down all the questions you want answered now you have had a little time to digest it all sweetie, have them all written so when you see the vet on Wednesday you can get them all answered. Problem with looking on the net is that it brings up other questions of things that may not even be relevant, plus journal article reading is tough going.
-
i am sorry that the news wasnt good, and I do hope that the next test results show some hope, and that there can be some treatment that will buy her a lot of quality time with you. You are both in my thoughts.
-
Be careful, the internet is a scarey place when you are trying to read up on stuff. It sometimes seems to find all the negative stuff. Hope Issey is feeling better and that she will be ok for a long long time
-
Hiya Michelle, hope your both keeping well
Yes I found with trying to research Ollie's condition it just left me worrying for the worse, best just to go by what your vet says, Im sure he will be doing whats best for Izzy in the long run :)
-
She hasn't got up this morning.....still laying on my bed,
Don't know if I am just being paronoid
-
No, you're being concerned - anyone would be. Does she have an appointment today?
-
Did you have a late start yourself today? I find with mine if Im up later than usual they tend to stay in bed or asleep till I get up.
-
Is she asleep or just not getting up hunnie?
-
She just hasnt done anything today, which isnt like her.....just wants to sleep on my lap or cuddled up in my dressing gown.
We are back to vets Wednesday for stitches to be removed and hopefully the other results might be back tomorrow. I am scared that she is going down hill quickly...but hoping that maybe she is just tired today

-
Hopefully just tired
-
She loooks quite bright and reckon she is just having a good snuggle, I do hope so
-
She looks as if she is enjoying her snuggle and it was very cold today, hopefully she is just taking advantage of an extra snuggle and to catch up on some sleep
-
I tend to agree Michelle. She's just enjoying a good nestling in the colder weather, bless her. But I can understand your concern.
-
Aww bless her, lets hope she is just tired today and more active tomorrow.
-
awwww, I think she's just taking advantage of having places to snuggle, it was a bit nippy yesterday compared to the weather last week.
Probably just having a lazy day :Luv2:
-
How are things this morning hunnie?
-
How are you and Issey today hun?
-
She is her normal self today :Luv:
I am going to be a nightmare Mum arn't I :evillaugh:
Thing is I am now watching her every move.
Thanks for the support Ladies
-
:)
-
Glad she's back to normal. :)
-
Glad to hear she's perkier today  :Luv2:
-
Hope you are ok Michelle as I can imagine with the worry and everything you aren't sleeping so good
-
Good luck at the vets today hunnie x
-
Hope her stitch removal goes OK - Little minx scaring Mummy like that. I'm an over protective Mum too.
good luck at the vets today  xx
-
Good luck from me too
-
Hope the vet visit goes OK.
-
Just spoke to the VN and her results are back....
We had quiet a laugh as neither of us could really understand all the rather large words but
She does have Lymphoma and its T cell. (well i think thats what she said)
Seeing vet at 4pm anyway so told VN to tell him not to ring me before as i will speak to him then
-
Michelle at last you know what she has now the way forward can be planned for you both
I will say never under estimate the power of the cat all ours who has sad diagnosis have all outlived what the vet said and as usual she will be in your care with all fingers and paws crossed here for you both
-
I'm not entirely sure what that means...... but I hope something can be done. (I tend to have to have results explained to me; mine and the cats. :shy:)
-
I hope the vet explains everything and also what can be done to give Issey quality of life
-
 let us know what the vet says
-
The Lymphoma Issey has is very rare in cats. This is actually the 1st case of it my vet has seen
This type of Lymphoma she has is more likely to be associated with FIV in middle-aged cats but apparently spontaneous non viral associated lymphoma also freguently encountered in her age group too !
So,
She has had an FIV/FeLV test done today and sent off (next day answer)
If it comes back positive for FIV there is no more we can do as she wouldn't be able to have Chemo
If its negative (please God) then the next step will be to do xrays and a scan to see how many more Lymph nodes are effected.
We need to know how far round the body the Lymphoma has travelled....
Then if possible we can start Chemo
So its a waiting game again till the FIV results come back tomorrow :(
-
Sending vibes for Issey, and hugs for you, Michelle. :care:
-
Fingers and toes crossed for a neg result hun.
Are they doing an in-house or Glasgow FIV test?
-
Fingers and toes crossed for a neg result hun.
Are they doing an in-house or Glasgow FIV test?
She had an FIV/FeLV test in April 2005 which was negative so fingers crossed this is negative too.
No its not an in-house test, its being sent to a Lab somewhere in London (which is connected with Glasgow)

Oh Michelle, i am sorry . Ask them to call the lab, first thing in the morning and tell them its urgent.
-
Big hugs, will be still thinking about you going through all this again tomorrow
-
O dear, just what you could use now, NOT!!
It's always like that isn't it?
Or you get vets that assure you they will call you and then forget all about you. Course, your cat is not their only patient, but to you, it's the only cat that matters now.
We keep our fingers crossed some more then.
-
Grrrr what are they like. Try and relax Michelle, have a glass of wine, give Issey a big cuddle and take some deep breaths. Getting yourself into a state won't get the results to you any quicker hun and it'll only stree Issey out
-
Aww, I hate it when things like this happen. Good luck for tomorrow
-
good luck, sorry that you have to wait overnight
-
Oh hunnie
-
:care: I hate it when things like that happen. Try and remain calm; I know it's easier said than done.
-
Thanks one and all
I did ring them at 11, 5.30 and 6pm (bet they are sick of me haha)
Hopefully the results will be there first thing in the morning so i wont have to wait around all day worrying xx
-
Hope you get the results early today
-
Good luck today Michelle
And for Issey :ahh:
-
:hug:Good luck for you both today Michelle
-
Good luck today sweetie, thought of you both as soon as I woke this morning
-
Just checking to see if the result is back. Good luck for today Michelle.

-
Hoping its good news today. Thanks for your help.
Shirley.
-
Time for just one of these :yayyy: because although she still have Lymphoma her FIV/FeLV results were
NEGATIVE
Which means we can at least now carry on with some treatment.....
I think the plan is to do an xray and a scan early next week and then hopefully start Chemo
I am on such a high....
-

Excellent news ;D
-
Woo Hoo .... great news. Lets hope this is the shape of thinks to come and the "nasties" can be beaten.
-
Thank You all the support....I am chuffed that so many people care and are with me on this journey
I am still quiet shocked that all this is happening to be honest
Anyway,
Just had an email from my vet
"The first of my oncologists wants to start chemo now. He does advise a belly shave and scan now to make sure its not in the kidneys as these dont respond well to treatment.
He did say it can just be one lymph node and removal can be a cure but he thinks this is even more rare.
Ill wait for the other guy to respond before we start chemo but we should do the scan soon"
So going to have the scan done early next week.....
Love to all from Me and Issey Macky Moo Moo xxx
-
I am glad that the tests came back negative, and good luck for the scan and chemo
-
Glad they came back neg ;D
Wishing wee Izzey all the luck in the world, hoping she can overcome this, she seems a fighter
-
Here for you sweetie

Good luck with Isseys treatment -hope it works and she gets better .
Sending   to you all from us in Lincoln.
-
How is Issey doing hun?
-
Hi Nik,
Had this from my vet this night
"Its probably always the way when you ask for two expert opinions, but the other oncologists suggests 3 monthly check ups and only start chemo if we find the cancer again.
I think we should do the scan and then decide.
I am more inclined to follow the more conservative approach rather than the chemo now one."
So she is going in for a scan tomorrow.
I will do whatever my vet thinks best but it is worrying to have 2 opinions
-
Lots of good wishes for Issey tomorrow
-
Lots of good wishes for Issey tomorrow ...will be thinking of you
-
Its thursday now as my vet isnt in tomorrow.....
And she doesnt have to be put out for it either (yipppeee) It will be done at a normal appointment at 4pm....and i get to watch !!!
-
Best of luck for the scan
-
Good luck
-
that's excellent that you can be present, as it will give you the chance to ask lots of questions - I do hope all goes well, and the results are promising for you and Issey
-
Sending lots of love and luck hunnie x
-
Fingers crossed for Thurs.
-
She was a very good girl......although i have a patchwork cat now :evillaugh:
Good news is her kidneys look fine,
Not so good news is the nodes near her kidneys are slightly larger than they should be.....so my vet measured them and she will have another scan in a months time.
Had a chat about Chemo, its all pretty dangerous one way or another ....so holding off for now
-
Fingers crossed for her next scan
I dont know much about chemo but i might have to get reading depending on what Milly has, not something im sure i would pursue tho. I hope Issey stays well without it
-
She was a very good girl......although i have a patchwork cat now :evillaugh:
:Luv:
Good that there is some good news!
Difficult choice with the chemo, think I'd be inclined to hold off as well. Am not sure if it makes cats feel as poorly as some humans do, but it's hard as we at least understand it's making us feel bad in the hope we'll get better
-
Finger crossed for Issey next scan.
-
Finger crossed for Issey next scan.
me too
-
Fingers crossed everything is fine on her next scan - I am not a fan of chemo in cats, although my vet says it isn't as hard on cats as it is humans, but I dont know how you can truly know. I would let your vet guide you on this one, and maybe do some research, I know people who have used it seemingly with no side effects
-
Good news on the kidney front hunnie, good louck for neck scan and give Issey a cuddle form me
-
Great news and good luck for the next!
-
-

-
Fingers crossed and everything else
-

-
Found another lump tonight -
Its high up in the groin, feels the same as the one that was removed although this one is huge.
Spoken to my vet and i'm taking her in an Tuesday for a F.N.A and then probably start Chemo Wednesday.
This is it isn't it ? The start of the end, don't think I can face this ...I really don't think i can cope with this :'(
-
I am so sorry to hear about this new lump
What does FNA stand for?
-
Sorry to hear about the new lump Michelle...Sending Issey tons of positive vibes~~~~~~ :Luv:

-
So sorry to read this Michelle :(
sending Positive thoughts Issesy's way :care:

-
So sad Michelle :'( - Don't give up yet though. Look at CCs Ollie - There is still hope for Issey and you need to stay positive for her
-
Michelle, I really don't know what to say. I hope Issey is alright in herself and am sending you a hug.
-
sending you lots and lots of hugs and hope that you can have a lovely day spent with Issey in the sun today, enjoying it together  don't give up hope x
-
Oh hunnie  I its easy for me to say but wait till you see the vet, you just never know it could be commpletely benign x Here for you hunnie.
-
Sorry to hear you've found another lump, but please don't give up hope. Sending tons of positive vibes your way hunnie  xx
-
Fingers crossed this lump isn't anything serious
-
Oh hunnie  I its easy for me to say but wait till you see the vet, you just never know it could be commpletely benign x Here for you hunnie.
Mrs R is right  It's easy for me to say too, but try not to cross your bridges before you come to them
-
Thank You xxx
I know this is the Lymphoma, Will have a good chat with my Vet about the Chemo though.
I am so torn about it...
On one hand I want to try and save her but on the other hand i dont want to put her through something horrible just to give her a few extra weeks....I just dont know what to do
and then if i dont give her Chemo and she dies i will forever blame myself for not trying
but if I go for Chemo and she dies from a chest infection or something else i will blame myself for that
This is so bloody difficult, my tummy is in knotts
And what is making it harder is that Issey is well in herself (if that makes sense)
Sorry for going on but there is so much going round in my head at the moment
I just dont know what to do
-
Oh Michelle, i feel for you   I know how difficult is to make the right decision, Its heart breaking because you feel so helpless :(
Ask your vet what he thinks her chances are with chemo?
But please try and be positive and strong for Issey, we are all here for you.
-
Sorry to hear you have found another lump
My vets have had quite good results with chemo, lymphoma is certainly the best for responding to it from what iv read/been told.
If Issey is still bright and strong then she is in a good position, how old is she?
PM if you want to talk anytime
-
This is such a hard time and know how you must be feeling
I think you should write down loads of questions for your vet and also ask him what he wiould do if it was his cat....they can be quite evasive sometimes.
You need to think what is best for Issey as you have said and then if there is a choice go for the best percentage option. Dont feel guilty about what you choose cos what ever decision you make will be the best one that you can make for Issey
-
Just popped in to give you a
-
Just caught up with this again and im sure that you will do whats right for Issey, i would have a long talk with your vet about the chemo and what her chances are if she has / doesnt have ,but most of all try to stay positive
-

PM if you want to talk anytime
She will be 6yrs old on 1st October so she is pretty young.
She seems fine at the moment MM
The things i have read say that Chemo gives a few extra weeks (17-20)
so i just dunno what to do ??
Will chat with my vet on Tuesday....and thanks MM for the offer to PM you xxxx
-
I'd defo have a chat with the vet Michelle....the way I see it Chemo must help in some way or they would not use it...She is a young cat too which should stand in her favour!
-
My vet advised against chemo with Ollie, he said its very agressive. Maybe it would be different for Issey with having a different kind of cancer?
-
Thinking about you both Issey and Michelle and sending cyber hugs, God bless.
-
Sending every good wish for Issey
-
Hope your chat with the vet today has a positive outcome for you both! :Luv:
-
Good luck today Michelle. Fingers are crossed for you and Issey!
Shirley.

Keep coming on to see if there is any news

Keeping everything crossed
-
The Lymphoma has spread :'(
Have decided to start Chemo.....
She will go in once a week for the IV part and then I will give the other 2 parts by tablets daily. We start Thursday :(
Will start off with a 6wk high dose course and then review it.
If, however, I feel she is not coping with the Chemo I will stop it but I feel I owe it to her to at least try.
-
They say cats don't suffer the ill-effects with chemo like humans - I hope for Issey's & your sake it is true
-
Sounds like you are making a good decision there Michelle at least you are trying your best to help her but not prepared to let her suffer  I will hoping for the very best for her xx
-
Oh sweetie we are here for you ok
-
Hope it goes well
-
Fingers crossed that this helps Issey, will be thinking of you
-
I am sorry the lymphoma has spread, but at least by trying hte chemo you know you have done everything possible for her, and I hope she can tolerate it with no issues, I know my vet says it can work well with certain cancers. Good luck for tomorrow.
-
Im with you on the chemo front Michelle....Sending more positive vibes to you both~~~~~~ :Luv:
-
I'm really sorry to hear the news that it's spread, Michelle. :(
Hopefully the chemo will do its thing, and you and Issey will have many more happy years together.
Shirley.

Issey has such a rare type of Lymphoma that they don't how it will respond.
My vet feels it isnt that aggresive because it has taken 2mths to present somewhere else
HOWEVER that isnt good for the chemo as chemo works better on aggresive cancers.
The other thing he said is...
Because the 2nd lump is on the other side of the body it means the Lymphoma has travelled up the body to the heart and back down the other side...so it will be in other places (one of her glands in her neck is also large)
I am really scared about starting the chemo tomorrow.
The IV part leaves her toxic and i have to be very careful with her wee...
I also don't quite know how much this is going to cost, it is going to run into the hundreds so looks like beans on toast for me !!
-
I feel I owe it to her to at least try.
I know how you feel
Its so sad and by what you say Issey has had a rough life, Im hoping for a good outcome for her...and you
-
och :(
Give Issey a gentle rub from me :care:
and some   for you Michelle
keeping everything crossed the chemo helps Issey
-

I hope she responds well :wish:
-

I hope she responds well :wish:
Me too. x
-
Good Luck with the treatment for Issey, thinking of you both today!
-
How did it go hun?
-
Hi Nikki,
It went well...
Think its Me who is in more of a state than her, I started crying as soon as I got to the vets this morning....then couldnt sign the form as I was shaking so much LOL
I have to give her a Chemo tablet on Sunday and steroids twice a day...
and that is how the pattern will go ....IV Chemo Thursdays, Tablet Chemo Sundays and steroids every day.
She is very sleepy this afternon and just wants to be cuddled.
xxxxxxx
-
I would have been in tears too sweetie
We are all here for you hunnie.
Well done mummy and well done Issey x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x x
-
Glad Issey isn't too stressed; sorry you are! (I would be too, as Nikki said.)
Hope Issey is chilling out and feeling content.
-
Glad it went well for Issey. I am sure your vet gave you all the instruction but please make sure you wear disposable gloves when handeling the chemo tablet and keep the tablets in fridge.
Sending more good vibes for her and  for you.
-

Ohhhh
The VN said it might be a good idea to wear gloves but then laughed so i wasnt sure if she meant it ( its Cyclophospamide)
So thanks for that.
Nothing was said about putting tablets in fridge though....although i will go and do it
-
Michelle, i think is best to ceck with your vet about puting them in fridge, because Boy is on Leukeran and is different to Issey, so may be is no need for you to put them in fridge. As for gloves it wont do any harm if you wear them. x
-
Fingers crossed she can tolerate things.
-
It must be so emotionally hard and stressful for you
Keeping the positive vibes for Issey Flowing your way :care:
-
Boy is on Leukeran
thats not the tablet that cost £70 each is it ??/
the VN's were telling me about a Chemo tablet that costs that much EACH :wow:
-
I have recently been given some tablets for Ollie that I have to were gloves with as they are highly toxic to humans, so if the vet said to wear them, I would do hun
-
Boy is on Leukeran
that's not the tablet that cost £70 each is it ??/
the VAN's were telling me about a Chemo tablet that costs that much EACH :wow:
No Michelle, it doesnt cost £70 each but i just checked the price for a box of 25 and i realized my old vet charged £46.05 but the new vet charges £28.20!! I feel such a fool not checking anything before but i guess with every thing happening to Boy last year i was just grateful that they were treating him and he was alive? What a shame because they took me for a ride knowing how desperate i was and i think i only started noticing it when they told me Phoebe operation for removing her thyroid glands would cost around £2000 and they knew i don't have any insurance for her or Boy, but then they didn't care!
I think there must be different chemo tab and treatment for each case. x
-
Sending more positive vibes and big hugs to you both!

It's terrible what some vets charge ....and just goes to show now you have changed vets !!!!
I know they have to make a profit BUT some just take the :censored:
Well Issey HATES me at the moment, as soon as she see's me she runs :(
Its taken 2 tablets again to get one in her this morning, thankfully these are just the steroids....dreading the chemo tablet on Sunday
-
The next step with Ollie is chemo tablets so I will watch out for that! :shify:
-

[/quote]
Does she like Primula cheese or webbox which you can hide the steroids in?
Also make sure if you putting them direct in her mouth she doesn't spit them later, i gave Boy his chemo tabs twice in my bedroom and only realized when i found them under the bed few weeks later so now i make sure i keep his mouth shut and rub his chin till he swallows . :naughty:
-
 I dread worming which isn't daily or weekly so understand your dread x
Weirdly though Sofa was the worst for giving tablets to and was very stressful but when she had to go on daily hypertension tabelst after a few weeks I swear she started to realise they were making her feel better and she became the best cat to give tablets too - hopefully this will happen for Issey too.
-
Does she eat wet food? Preds are quite easily disguised in food, dont seem to be bitter or maybe iv been lucky :-:
-

She's a B.ugger MM :evillaugh:
Too clever for that !!!
Had a message from my vet today saying I MUST wear gloves when giving her the chemo tablet and i MUST get it down in one go
HEEEELLLP
-
NIGHT TIME TABLET....
ONE TABLET....

Wow....they love to shock us! :evillaugh:
Hope all the meds work their magic for darling Issey! :Luv:
-
Just even her the Chemo tablet.....it didnt go well !!
It took a few attemps and the coating on the tablet got wet (which my vet said it mustn't) Just hope i havent :censored: it up !!!!
Also got a tooth through my thumb and its killing me, made me go all faint and i had to sit down :(
-
 to you both
-
Michelle as I said on FB if it pearced the skin you need to get your thumb seen too sweetie.
-
How is Issey Michelle?
-
She seems ok....but then she has only had one IV Chemo and one Chemo tabblet so far ...although hopefully she will stay like this.
Nikki, I am at Dr's tomorrow so will show her my thumb....it dont half hurt lol
-
That's good, everything crossed she keeps that way and they help her xx
good idea to show your thumb to the GP too
-
Michelle if your thumb starts to become inflamed, more painful, you see tracking or anything abnormal please go to A&E - no joke here, if you have a infection and it becomes bad you will need to be hospitalize d and need IV antibiotics - thats the worst case senario but animal bites and puncture wounds are full of little evils and you need it to be sorted and anitbiotics. Tonight try and keep it up above your heartline.
-
How is your thumb Michelle?
I hope Issey is taking her tablets without givivg you a hard time.
-
Issey goes for IV Chemo again tomorrow -
But she has to have a blood test before treatment to make sure her white bloods cells arnt too low
Sorry...thumb is fine xx
-
Good luck for tomorrow, give her a gentle :care: from me and the boys
-
Finger crossed for tomorrow. Sending Issey a big . x

-
Lots of luck today x x x x x x
-
Hi Michelle,
How did it go with blood test and treatment? I hope Issey is ok.
-
Yes, how did she get on
-
Poor little lamb had a stressful time -
Blood test then Chemo drip plus rather upset and noisy cat in for a spay !!
But on the good news.....white blood cells were 7.4 which is good so she had the treatment
The lumps are getting smaller (but vet says they normally do)....she has 2 more weeks of IV and then i think she has it every 3wks for a while.
Its once the treatment stops we have to see if the lumps come back
-
sounds promising so far. fingers crossed that everything continues to go well
-
all fingers and paws crossed for Issey and her mum. I so hope it keeps going as planned and she gets well asap. How long will she be in for?
-

Thank You Cat Crazy and Welcome to Purrs
I am in pieces, I know our days together will be cut short as we wont be able to cure this but rather than lose the plot I have to remain strong and make each day count.
We should have had another 15years together....and i can not imagine her not being here....
God I love this cat sooooo much x

She's not good tonight :(
Hasnt eaten, Can tell she doesnt feel well.
Spoken to my vet and he said it is the effect of the chemo starting to catch up on her. She has also lost 0.5KG.
Feel horrible because its me who made the decision to have the chemo but i so wish i could tell her why and explane that it will hopefully make her better in the long run.
She is laying on the ironing board just looking at me, her eyes look so heavy....and she has got to have her steroid tablet now too poor baby
Hopefully she will feel abit better tomorrow, wish i could swap places with her, i hate to think of her feeling like pooey
-
Loads of these        to you and Issey - hope she feels better soon.

Poor baby, please give her a :care: from me and the boys and a  for you x
-
Oh hunine, have you called the vet and spoken to them?
-
Oh hunine, have you called the vet and spoken to them?
Yeah spoke to my vet last night and it is the Chemo build up thats starting to make her feel unwell.
She is also getting more and more stressed with each visit to the vets, she attacked the VN yesterday which is so unlike her (she's never scatched anyone in her life)
She only has one more IV chemo next week, I want to call it off because i hate seeing her like this BUT that would be silly wouldnt it ?
The chemo is working and making the lumps smaller.
-
If she only has 1 more to go hunnie and it seems to be working have it done.
Hugs to you as I know how hard this is for you
-
I agree too. I think you've come this far and it's helping and the treatment isn't nice and she gets stressed but just think when she is well again...fantastic and she will forget about the treatment in no time. It's such good news that it's working. I know how horrible it is when you see them struggle but it's worth it sometimes, it really is.
-
Hope Issey is doing ok this evening?
-
Hoping Issey is feeling better soon -its worth it now just for one last treatment , especially as its working for her.
Lots of     to you both .
-
She eat a nice chicken dinner this evening....and promptly went back to sleep bless her. (sadly i will have to wake her for her tablet)
I will finish off the chemo, i know i must. Its just so hard seeing her like that, it breaks my heart.
Thanks Guys xxxx
-
Sending lots of love to Issey and hope she has some nice food before she has to go back
-
 glad she has enjoyed her tea and everything crossed she's feeling better soon xx
-
Hope Issey had a good night x

How is Issey today?
-
Hi Nikki,
Sorry had my Brothers wedding this weekend so not been on much.
Issey still isnt that good...She's lost the spring in her step and just isn't herself...not eating much and sleeps loads :'(
-
:( poor thing, has she finished her treatment now Michelle?
-
:( poor thing, has she finished her treatment now Michelle?
No she has one more IV Chemo on Thursday .......then there is some more treatment but my vet hasnt told me what that is yet :scared:
-
Sending positive vibes to Issey for her visit tomorrow, i hope it all goes well for her and you.
-
Thank You for remembering
We are going to have a chat tomorrow aswell as she isnt coping with the treatment anymore - my vet thinks its more likely to the high dosage of steroids she is on everyday
~Will update tomorrow
xxxx
-
Loads of best wishes for tomorrow
-
Fingers crossed for her today
-
Hope everything goes well today
-
Best of luck
-
Thinking of Issey and yourself Michelle at the vets today....Good Luck! :Luv:
-
Good luck at the vets -hope its not too bad for Issey
-
She seems happier than she did last week
Didnt get to have that chat with my vet though, so not sure whats happening now :scared:
-
Good luck at the vets, hope they can sort Issey out
-
Plan of action -
She now has IV chemo every 3wks with a Chemo tablet 3 days after each time......this could go on forever (cant see that)
My vet is going to speak to the oncologist about cutting down the steroid tablets as he feels the high dose is what is making her ill.
~She has lost a whole KG in weight too (thank goodness she had some to spare)
She wasnt as upset today after her treatment......
-
Fingers crossed the new plan of action works.
-
I do hope she start feeling better now. I dont know much about IV chemo, Boy never had IV they put him on tablets from the start but i was told its for rest of his life .
Did your vet say why she has lost so much weight? I was told with steroid they start puting on weight , well thats what happened to Boy the first few months when he was on 1 tab twice a day and then they cut the dose.
Sending lots of good vibes for Issey.
-
This is good news Michelle, for her to be getting on with the treatment there must be something positive happening! ;D
What a clever, brave girl is Issey! :Luv:
-

She is losing weight because she isnt eating :( even with being on the steroid tablets, so that goes to show how shitty nshe must be feeling.
I am waiting for my vet to find out if we can cut the dose
-
poor girl :( I was thinking of her today, hoping she picks up soon
-

Ditto! :grouphug:

     to Issey -hope she starts to feel better enough to eat soon.
-
Sending gentle headrubs to Issey, hope she feels better and up to eating soon
-
I'm sorry she's not eating and feeling yukky. I hope that it goes better for her and you very soon
-
Soothing vibes for wee Izzie
-
Just got back from the vets...
He was surprised to see how much more weight she has lost!
She is very weak and not eating....she couldnt jump from the table to the side which was a gap of a few inches :(
We are stopping treatment !
If she hasnt improved in a few days then she will have a scan to see if its actually the Lymphoma that has spread and is making her ill rather than the treatment
Hopefully she will start to feel better without all the chemo going into her body, please keep your fingers crossed, send prayers and vibes, anything just make her get better.......
because if its the Lymphoma then i cant let her suffer like this :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
 Hoping for the best Michelle
:ahh: for Issey
-
Tons of positive vibes being sent Michelle to the brave and beautiful Issey~~~~~~~ :Luv:
For you too! :grouphug:
-
   for Issey and you Michelle. I hope she starts to eat soon.
I have some a/d at home , do you want me to send her few tins to see if she eat some? If you do just pm me your address . x
-

-
Fingers crossed it is just the treatment and that the lymphoma has reduced.
-
:(
Hoping for the very best for Issey
-
Fingers crossed its the treatment making her poorly, sending tons of positive vibes that the lymphoma has reduced
-
How is Issey doing Michelle
-
Awww thanks for asking
She is alot better in herself and has started to eat again (she is having no treatment at all)
Going to the vets tomorrow for a weigh in ...
Then got to decide what to do,
1 oncologist wants to just give her steroids one a day everyother day and only start chemo again if any lumps come up
but the other oncologist wants her to have IV every 3wks aswell as the steroids
I really dont know what to do ?
-
:) Glad to hear she seems alot better. It must be really hard trying to decide what to do for the best when you get conflicting advice. What does your vet think? maybe he/she has experience of both treatments and can help you decide, poor you  hope tomorrows visit goes ok.
-
Good news
-
What hard decisions to make.............do both give their reasons and id so which sounds most sensible when considering Isseys quality of life?
I send best wishes to Issey
-
Its great that Issey is eating again, i do hope the vet can help you with your decision.
Sending good vibes for Issey and  for you.
-
Im glad she is eating again, it must be so confusing when she acts so normal!
Positive vibes for Issey at the vets! :Luv:
-
Michelle, how did the vet visit go for Issey? Has she put any weight on since her last visit?

-
No she hasnt put any weight on :( but she hasnt lost anymore either.
She is alot more like her old self again but this is because she has had no treatment for 2wks.
The lymth nodes in her leg and neck have gone down which shows that chemo was working but we just dont know how long they will stay like that without the chemo.
I am taking her back next thursday to be weighed and if she hasnt lost any weight and is well in herself then my vet wants to go ahead with IV chemo that day...and then every 3wks (rather than every week) with preds (steroids) every other day
What i think i will do is see if she copes with 3 weekly chemo......but vet is hopefully that she might
-
Glad to hear that Issey is back to her old self and I'll keep everything crossed for her whatever you decide
-
What i think i will do is see if she copes with 3 weekly chemo......but vet is hopefully that she might
That would be brilliant if she only had to have chemo every three weeks....sending healing vibes to Issey and yourself! :Luv:
-
I am glad the chemo has worked, and I hope that she has gained some weight and can cope with chemo every 3 weeks.
-
Glad things are going in the right direction sweetie x
-
-
Glad the chemo has been working, and hope that the 3 weeks is the way forward
-
How are you two doing Michelle? Everything okay I hope! :Luv:
-
Sending lots of good vibes for Isseys visit today.
-
Hope everything goes well for dear Issey today
-
Best of luck for today
-
Bad news :'(
She has lost more weight and my vet can feel the lumps again....
I'm not putting her through more chemo, i cant do it to her, it makes her so ill...so now i've just gotta let my baby die :'( :'(
My vet thinks it will only be a couple of months, a few at best :'(
Cant believe this is happening, she isn't even 6yrs old....and what is Rocky gonna do ? He suckles on her at night....oh God this is so crap.
-
oh Michelle I'm so sorry, but only you know what is best for her
-
:( I'm so sorry Michelle but I wouldn't my kitty to suffer either, if it was a short period of suffering to cure her for a long period of time it may be different so I can understand your decision
-
:( I'm so sorry Michelle but I wouldn't my kitty to suffer either, if it was a short period of suffering to cure her for a long period of time it may be different so I can understand your decision
She only finished the 1st course of Chemo 3wks ago and already the lumps are back. My vet also feels it has reached a major organ and that is why she is losing weight.
I think my Mum just hit the nail on the head with a text she just sent me
"Let her enjoy what is left, she is a special little cat who lived a full life on all that borrowed time you gave her from kittenhood"
But it dont make it any easier.....I feel i have let her down....you know in the way a parent feels they would have let their child down...i am her mummy and i cant help her :'( :'( :'( :'(
-

awww :'( I think your mum is right too, you haven't let her down at all you've done all can for her and you still are doing that - by not letting her suffer
-
definately agree - you can let them go on too long because it is too painful for us to let them go but if you can spare her all of that it is the best gift you can give her
-
I'm so sorry to hear this Michelle, I think you are making the right decision if the chemo makes her ill and isnt keeping the cancer at bay anyway. Hope you have some quality time left with her. Take care
-
I think you have made the right decision, as hard as it is. You have gone the extra mile for her, i just wish it had worked out for you
-
You haven't let her down sweetheart, far from it
If the chemo is not keeping the lumps at bay, and it may have spread, then it sounds as though your Mum is right.
Let her enjoy the time you have left together, and make the most of every single day
-
You haven't let her down Michelle
You have given her every chance and are still doing what is best for your baby
-
Aw Michelle, I hate to see you like this, you have done what any of us would of done, there was a chance and that you gave...
Please be kinder on yourself hun.....sending positive vibes to keep you strong for your babe! :Luv: :care: :grouphug:
-
Really sorry Michelle :(
You have in no way let her down, some battles just can't be won no matter how hard you fight  Try and treasure the time you have left together
-
So sorry to hear this news and i see your point about not continuing treatment as the lumps have come back so quickly .
Lots of big       to you both .
I know how you feel as i am in exactly the same position .
I am totally paranoid about Bunglys tummy and keep feeling to see if the fluid is starting to fill up again - she is well at the moment and eating and playing -but no idea how long for -could be months . could be weeks !? Its a real shitty thing to have to cope with :'( :'( :'(
-
i'm so sorry you are going through this :(. as others have said, cherish the time you have left with each other and give yourself time to say goodbye.
-
There is no way you've let her down Michelle, you have done everything you could for her. Am so sorry to hear this news
-
But the thing is...the lumps went while she was having Chemo but the chemo made her ill !
I have never lost a cat through illness before, lost 3 to RTA
I'm scared about her getting really ill, I'm scared about making that decision when the time comes, but most of all i'm scared of not having her in my life....I just can't imagine life without Issey :'(
-
I hope have lots of lovely time together, and when the time comes, it is really scary, but you will know when it is the right time. She will always be with you in spirit.
-
Oh Michelle hun you've not let her down in anyway. Issey knows how much you love her and she knows when the time is right you will make the right decision for her.
Value every minute you have with her and rest assured you will find the strength to do the best for your little girl
Take care hun we are all here for you as and when you need us xxxxxxx
-
You really have done everything you can without causing a negative impact on Isseys quality of life. I agree with what's been said, enjoy the time you have left with her. I know it's difficult because all you can think about is how you'll feel when she's not there, but try not to focus on that or you'll miss out on the good times you can share before it's her time.
-
I am sorry to hear this, but you haven't let her down, you have given her hte chance to beat this with the chemo, stopped it because it was affecting her quality of life, and every decision you have made has been with her interests at heart, not yours, and that is the best thing you can do for her.
-
Me and Issey just had a dance round the front room to Madonna's "True Blue".....
It was lovely, she had a paw round each side of my neck and kept kissing me
I sang the song to her but I changed the words to "True Blue Issey I love you"....sang them to her while crying my eyes out
No point to this message really, I'm just so incredibly sad about losing her
-
oh hun that is so sad
-
:'(
-
 awww that's brought tears to me too
-
She knows you love her, Michelle.
-
What a lovely thing for the two of you to enjoy! :Luv:
-
I'm sure she loved her song sweetie  :Luv:
-
What a lovely moment you both shared hunnie, I know everyone is saying its sad and I know you are sad but turn it around and think about it as being a special moment you had together because thats exactly what it just was :)
-
Mummy's clever little girl has put some weight on :cheer:
but on the downside has seems to have a problem in her throat or chest.
Vet not sure if its a slight infection or if the glands/tonsills are getting big and obstructing her airways......so she has had an antibiotic injection in the hope its an infection.
-
Awww, glad she's put some weight back on, and fingers crossed the ab injection does the trick with her chest xxx
-

Seconded! :Luv:
-
pleased that Issey has gained some weight and hope the swelling is infection and the abs work
-
Wonderful news that she has put weight on, and fingers crossed the ab's work
-
Aww Michelle  Your dance bought a tear to my eye  Glad she's put weight on :)
-
How''s Issey ? Hope it was just an infection and she is picking up -glad she has put weight back on
-
 for Issey and you
-
Aww Michelle, i am glad Issey has put some weight on  I hope she is feeling better after the injection.
  for you and Issey.
-
Issey has kept the same weight this week...which is good.
But her lumps are larger, especially the one in her groin and the ones in her neck.
I think she is really well at the moment, she seems happy but vet says she is likely to go down hill suddenly when it happens
He seems to think it will be sooner than later......but Issey is going to prove him wrong !!!!!!!
-
Glad she is doing well and hope she continues to
-
Hope Issey continues to be well and prove the vets wrong - i am hoping for the same as Bungly is eating, drinking and playing - and complaining when i groom her as usual !!
Big    from us and healing vibes .
-
That is good news about the weight and better news that she is having a good time! :Luv:
-
Lots of love to Issey
-

I really hope she does. My Rosie was given 2 months max. by the vet and had 2 good quality years despite a large and ever increasing breast tumour. Totally different illness from Issey of course but it shows that predictiing life expectancy is a very inexact science. Keep thinking positive and enjoy the time you have together, however long or short it may be.
-
I am glad she is maintaining her weight and fingers crossed she proves the vet wrong.
-
Fingers crossed for Issey and that she proves the vet wrong
-

Me too
-
I hope so too, they do have their own little way of doing things

Thank You sooooo much for that Carol.....its stories like that that give me hope xx
Thank You to everyone for their continued support and messages xxx
-
Very pleased Issey is doing so well - lets hope her and Bungly keep it up - although i can see Bunglys sides sort of sticking out a bit :(
Lots of    to you both and :crossed:
-
Topping up the positive vibes and wishing you both the very best of luck! :Luv:
-
The lump by her leg is really quiet large now and last night i also felt the one in her neck.
I cant understand why my vet isnt saying we should remove them so i am going to see him monday and ask....
Surely its gotta be better to get these lumps out ??!!
Woodland cats, didnt you say that your dog has had a few lumps removed as they have appeared ??
-
I'm not sure why Michelle but I would ask, hugs to Issey
-
i would definitely ask the vet, but it might be that it wont improve her prognosis, and then is it fair to put her through the pain of an operation?
-
Sending lots of hugs for Issey and yourself Michelle...must be so draining for you both! :Luv:
-
possibly the vet thinks it is better to leave them than go through an op? whatever you do, all the very best for you and for Issey
-
i would definitely ask the vet, but it might be that it wont improve her prognosis, and then is it fair to put her through the pain of an operation?
Yeah i wonder that too, I will pop in and see him though...have a chat because I feel that I am doing nothing and just letting her die atm.
Had a feel on the one in her throat and that is quite large too
possibly the vet thinks it is better to leave them than go through an op? whatever you do, all the very best for you and for Issey
Thats what i need to know Kate....and yes i will always do what is best for her.
I need to get my bill paid up incase he isnt suggesting it because i owe money
Sending lots of hugs for Issey and yourself Michelle...must be so draining for you both! :Luv:
it is !!
Same days are better than others....but then it hits that i'm going to lose my girl :'(
-
Surely its gotta be better to get these lumps out ??!!
I read somewhere that surgery can actually cause an increase in the rate of growth if you don't manage to get everything out so you have to be reasonably certain that you can remove everything before attempting it. When Rosie had her breast cancer she initially had the lump removed and it was back within weeks so we didn't put her through further surgery. Although her lump was eventually very large she seemed to adjust to it being there and carried on with life as usual.
-
Michelle, you are'nt not doing anything for her, sadly with somethings there are just no treatments we can give, but giving her all the love you can will be helping her.
-
I know in humans when they dont operate on tumours its cos the cancer is quite aggressive therefore it will probably just grow back! You are doing everything possible for Issey Michelle, I think when it comes to cancer we all feel inadequate in one way or another! :care:
Loads of kisses and hugs from us to you and Issey! :ahh: :grouphug:
-
-
Appointment tomorrow at 4pm !
xxx
-
Keeping everything Crossed
Plz give brave Issey a Cuddle from me :Luv:
-
Sending lots of good vibes for Issey and keeping finger crossed for hr appointment.  x
-

I agree with Desley and you can feel more than one lump and you dont know what others she has inside. I suspect that now she has had chemo, it is just a matter of time and every day you have with Issey is a bonus, as long as she is not suffering and her quality of life is good.
Sending lots of cuddles for Issey and lots of     for you. Live everyday with Issey as if its the last and the next day will always be a bonus
-
Lots of good vibes and :crossed: for the vet visit tomorrow.
Lots of these     too for you and Issey.
-
:luck: for the vet visit today Michelle, lots of positive vibes being sent to the both of you~~~~~~~ :Luv:
-
Hope the vet visit goes well today xx
-
Fingers crossed for todays vet visit
-
Best of luck for todays vet visit  xxx
-
Good luck today, Michelle.
-
Vet says there is no point in removing the lump in her neck as the Lymphoma will be in major organs by now :'(
He agrees the lumps in her groin and neck have grown :'(
So its a case of making the most of the time she has left :'(
-
:care: Sorry the news wasn't better, Michelle.
-
Every day now is special and I am sure she has love all the time
-
I am so sorry the news wasnt better, make every day count and enjoy your time together
-
-
I am just so so gutted !
My poor baby is being robbed of about 15 years ....She's only 5, this so isnt fair.
And poor Rocky, he still needs his Mum...What is he gonna do without her ?
Thanks for the 'S
xx
-
Sorry to hear that Michelle  She know you'll look after Rocky :care:
-
 Michelle. Take each day as it comes.
xC
-
She know you'll look after Rocky :care:
That made Me giggle....He isnt sucking on my nipples Helen
Bless You that has really put a smile on my face xx
-
OK maybe there's limits!
-
I didn't realise Issey was only five; poor girl.
-
Poor Issey :( she is so young for this to happen, its not fair, all i can say is take each day as it comes and we are all here for you and Issey
-
Oh Michelle, my heart goes out to you   xx
We are here for you and Issey.
-
Hi Michelle,
So sorry the news isn''t good - just make the best of the time you have left thats all we can do now - i know she will be loved and spoilt every day and is lucky she had you as her cat slave even though the time together was cut short so cruelly .
Lots of     to you, Issy and Rocky .
I know i am going to be facing this same thing soon enough - Bunglys tummy is looking bigger again, so i have to see the vet in a week or two , he may just suggest draining again - not sure !?
-
Sorry to hear the news wasnt' more positive Michelle, but at least you can focus on just spoiling her now and not having to put her through the stress and pain of an operation. IT is never easy to come to terms with a terminal illness, but I feel it is better than them being taken suddenly without warning, at least you can spend as much time with her as you can.
-
For Issey and yourself! :care: :ahh: :grouphug:
-
sorry that things have turned out like this Michelle  to you and Issey
-
She's not good :'(
Last couple of days she hasnt eaten much and isn't right....
please please pray this is a blip rather than something serious
I'm scared
-
 poor Issey and you, hope she's just having a few off days xx
-
Oh Michelle   I pray Issey starts feeling better.
I know how scared you are but you need to be strong for her.
Thinking of you and Issey . Here for you. xx
-
-

Hope Issey starts to feel better - thinking of you all on here and sending mega healing vibes to all our poorly babies.
-
Lots of good vibes for Issey
-
Fingers crossed it is just the change in the weather that has unsettled her.
-
Fingers and toes crossed for Issey, and good luck at the vets today  xxx
-
For Issey and You
-
:care: To the both of you.

Thinking of Issey and yourself Michelle and hoping its a blip! :wish: :grouphug:

Hope she perks up Michelle
-
Sending lots of positive vibes for Issey and fingers crossed its just a blip
-
Sending lots of love and kitty kisses from me and my gang to you and Issey xxxxx

She has really gone down hill quickly ....if we dont do anything she has a couple of weeks
decided to try Leukeran which is a chemo but my vet says it is gentle and shouldnt make her feel ill.
Thats all i can write atm xxx
-
Oh Michelle
Am so sorry, sending lots of gentle cuddles for Issey
-
I hope the chemo helps her and at least it won't make her feel more poorly
-
Oh Michelle, i am thinking of you and Issey.
-
Aw hunnie
-
big hugs, don't give up hope  x
-
So sorry about Issey going down hill too :( Really hope that the Leukeran tablets help ( i am going to mention these to my vet when i take Bungly on Monday for her assessment ).
Lots of gentle    for Issey and   for you too.

decided to try Leukeran which is a chemo but my vet says it is gentle and shouldnt make her feel ill.
Thats all i can write atm xxx
Sweetheart remember to keep the Leukeran in the fridge and use gloves, that is what Boy was on.xx
-
Fingers crossed the tablets give her some more time and dont make her feel too ill.

:(

Pav how often did Boy have it ?
Issey is every third day....
(I got your PM hunny, will read it tonight when i can be quiet...)
The other vet wants her to have missletoe injections :shify:
Cant hurt :evillaugh:
-
Sorry Michelle, just seen this.
Boy was on 2 tablets a week but you need to give 3 days between and dont change the days . Boy was on Monday and thursdays but he missed one so i changed it to tuesdays and friday and if she miss one or you are not sure if she has taken it, its very important not to overdose, my vet said is better to miss than overdose.
The other thing i found out with Boy was couple of times i found the tablet a day or 2 later he used to keep it in his mouth and then spit it out, so after that i sat with him for along time to make sure he doesnt, so stay with Issey to make sure she doesnt spit it after you gone. They are so clever. Bless them. xx
  To you and Issey.

Thinking of you and Issey Michelle and sending positive vibes for you both~~~~~ :Luv:

PAV,
Issey is only having 2 days inbetween tablets.....but you have got me worried now....even though i double checked with my vet !!
She has had 2 tablets now and due another one tomorrow.
She seems to be coping well with them and I actually think the lump in her groin has got smaller (the ones in her neck are the same)
I have the Mistletoe injections but my vet says to wait a few more days before starting them.
Thanks Bazsmum x
-
glad to hear Issey isn't doing too bad and that the lump seems smaller, good luck with the injections, hugs for Issey
-
Thanks Jane xx
-
Fingers crossed the tablets continue to work
-
:brick: :brick:
She has a new lump in her back leg :(
Dont understand it as the lumps in her neck and groin have gone down alot (not gone but deff smaller)
WTF is going on ??
-
So sorry
-
How does she seem in her self Michelle?
-
Have you spoken to the vet ?
So sorry ,
-
How does she seem in her self Michelle?
She has been doing really really well,
today she is very sleepy though....trouble is when they have something like this you never know if its just a sleepy day for now reason or because they dont feel well !!
And she hasn't really eaten today either
Have you spoken to the vet ?
So sorry ,
She has an appointment with our vet on monday as she will have had the last chemo tablet on Sunday
-
Sadly that is common with cancer. Fingers crossed for Mon, and I hope she is just having a sleepy day, and she has a better day tomorrow
-

Thanks Desley -
This is such a rollercoater.....
Because of the new lump, now I'm not sure if the original lumps have actually got any smaller, maybe I am just imagining it ?!
-
It is - I think the original lumps could be smaller - the vet will be able to tell you for certain on Mon.
-
 thinking of Issey and you
-
-
She got her to eat some dinner....it was only a little but better than nothing.
Her coat is horrible again, think thats the chemo
-

-
I have always buried my others but I'm not sure I want to do that with Issey -
and i think I want to take her there -
I also think I need to start making the phonecall
:'( :'( :'( :'(
-
you and Issey have come a long way together on this journey Michelle - so sorry to hear it is nearly at an end
-
:care: :ahh: :grouphug: Thinking of you both! x
-
I hope she has a good night, and the vet can give you some positive news on Mon Michelle.
-
Just given her a mistletoe injection -
Didnt start them last week as vet wanted to see how the chemo would work
Got nothing to lose now....will try anything
-

Sorry shes going through a bad patch, i hope you vet can help you on monday.
Remember you can have a home visit
-
Fingers crossed the mistletoe helps her.
-
I have just got up -
She is weak on her back legs but has gone out and laid in the sun :Luv:
Can't believe how old she looks....and she is only 5yrs old bless her
We got vets at 4pm....
I dont think she needs pts just yet because she is manageing to eat alittle and enjoying the sun
Actually i just thought, wonder if its the chemo that she has been having ?
Remember she got really bad on the other chemo she had....
She might pick up abit without it
-
could be Michelle
people on chemo often struggle to understand that it is the chemo which makes them feel lousy rather than their cancer
-
Any news?
-
Hope it went well today Michelle
-
Had such a terrible day :(
Had convinced myself it was time to let her go.....screamed, cried and was sick (thats me not issey) Took loads of photos
Phoned my Mum to take us to the vets
Get to vets, had a long chat and my vet (and my mum) both felt she isnt quite ready to go ....although my vet has told me 100% that she is now dieing but he doesnt think she is suffering. He says she is gently fading away.
What I want more than anything now is for her to die here at home
But I also now know that I will be strong enough to PTS if it comes to it
So this is it........
My Brother and Sister inlaw have just been round to see her and say their goodbyes
Just one last thing,
She has a few bald patches on her from the Op and from being shaved to be scanned and blood tests etc, these have never grown back due to the Chemo.
I had asked my vet a few weeks ago if they would even grow back as i didnt want her dieing looking a mess - he said probably not
Today I noticed the fur is growing :Luv: on all of the patches.....
-
So sorry its been such an awful day for you Michelle but glad you have a little longer with Issey I think we all hope they will die peacefully at home. Would it be an option for your vet to do a home visit if that time comes? We had our cat Button pts at home ..although an awful thing to go through was made easier knowing I didnt have to stress her more ( or us) taking her to ther vet Lots of  to you and Issey xx
-
I agree with nicter I would ask the vet to do a home visit when the time comes
-
Yes my vet would deff come to me if I asked .....I will speak to him about it as my bill is creeping up again and I dont want him to think i am taking the P xx
-
So sorry its came to this Michelle :(
Wishing Issey peace for the rest of her time
-
She has got "that smell" :(
and she has started drinking alot ......
think everything is starting to close down
She doesnt seem stressed and gets up and slowly walks around....infact she is in the litter tray now....and now has gone back to lay by the back door (gap where air comes in)
-
 thinking of Issey and you xx
-
i am sorry the vet wasn't more positive, and I hope you can have a bit more quality time with her. You are both in my thoughts.
-
She had a good night, I sat with her for most of it.
couple of times I thought she was going to go but she is still here this morning :Luv2:
I am in constant contact with my vet -
She is deff drinking alot
Just going to spend the day keeping her quiet and having lots of cuddles xx
-
 ahh, give her a gentle cuddle from me Michelle xx
-
Wishing Issey and yourself the most comfortable, peaceful time ahead....am thinking of you both hun x
-
I think the way you are managing this is just great, Michelle
this is a special time for you and Issey - I hope so much nothing spoils it
-
Many gentle strokes to Issey and you are doing great with her
-
     to you and Issey - sorry she seems to be fading - hope things continue to be peaceful and calm - lots of gentle cuddles to Issey
-
long may she remain comfortable Michelle
-
Issey has spent the day in the garden under the trees.....she hasnt eaten again today but I assure You she seems comfortable.
I have checked on her every half hour and each time she lifted her head up to see Me :Luv2:
Its such a lovely day here that I will leave her out there for another couple of hours before bringing her in
-
aww bless her :Luv:
-
it's so nice that you and Issey have had such a good day :catlove2:
-
I'm glad that Issey has managed to enjoy a day in the sunshine, I think the warmth on their fur makes them feel so much happier :Luv2:
You are being so brave for your little girl, and you are in my thoughts
-
Great to have some sun on her fur I am sre she enjoyed that ;D
-
I'm glad she's had a nice day out in the garden and that she seems comfortable
-
I'm glad she has had a nice day outside, and i hope you can get her to eat something
-
She is alseep under the table.....
But she purrs when I stoke her and lifts her head when I speak to her.....she is breathing ok, no flicking of tail so while she is like this and peaceful I will let her be.
We have had the chat about "its ok to go"......and I have spoken to my vet who is happy for Me to continue like this at the moment
-
all I can do is offer loads of    Michelle
I so hope you and Issey are storing up some good memories for the time to come
-

I so hope you and Issey are storing up some good memories for the time to come
Thank You
I just can't stop crying....it wasn't meant to be like this
-
it was meant to be that you did your very best for her - and you are still doing that
-
Its a very vewry hard time and know what you are going through. Treasure every minute with Issey
-

Thinking of you and the lovely Issey.

Michelle,
When my Mums little one went to the bridge in May she was very poorly and had been for quite a while ..... my Mum said that on the day she passed over Mum knew it was getting close, she spent the night sleeing with Chloe, brushed her with her favourite brush (this was one of Chloes favourite things) and told her it was OK to go whenever she wanted to. Apparently Chloe looked at Mum, gave a little meow and closed her eyes. She went to sleep and passed over while Mum and Dad were sat with her.
I'm sure when Issey is ready you will know most definitely. You know your little girl and you will be able to tell by looking at her.
Take care ... you are both in my thoughts and prayers.
:Luv2:

You know i am so glad i didnt pts on Monday....I had hubby having ago at Me saying i was being cruel keeping her and just get it over and done with but thank goodness I rang my mum to take us to the vets .....she took one look at her and said she isnt ready....then my vet agreed with my mum when we got there.
I have had "the chat" with Issey.....I have told her its ok to go and a couple of times i really have thought she was going.
I actually dont know how she is still here,
she hasnt eaten since Sunday....although she is drinking water, she is very weak when she walks to the litter tray....She just lays on the floor BUT she purrs when i stroke her.
Thanks again to everyone on purrs....you have all been amazing xx
-
She's still with you babe because she wants to be, she loves you so much that she doesn't want to let you go

Issey continues to amaze Me -
One minute she is laying on the floor, eyes starring and then last night she suddenly gets up and climbs the STAIRS :Luv2:
She has gone out in garden again today...its a lovely day and she is laying under the bushes

He was like it on and off for ages and wobbly on his legs but I would say with the not eating about a week. We were so unsure for a while and waiting for the steroids to kick in again but they didn't but he seemed content and went out in the garden the day or two before but there was a point when he just lay there and other stuff happened and I knew. I think you're doing great Michelle just taking it a day at a time
-
I can see your love for Issey is giving you the courage and strength that you are now showing Michelle, just like Issey's love for her mummy is giving all this back! Thinking of you both! :Luv: :Luv:
-
Thanks Jane and Bazsmum
Been to see the vet today (Me not Issey) and asked if a steroid injection would kick start her eating again.
Bless his heart my vet didnt think so but said you never know so did give me one to bring home and give her (we got nothing to lose)
Issey has enjoyed a lovely day in the garden... :Luv2:
I have just bought the cheapest crapest tuna in the world, its happy shopper tuna flakes and its literally just mush.....She liked it last week so fingers crossed
-
ISSEY EAT SOME OF THE CRAPPY TUNA.....ONLY A FEW MOUTHFULS BUT THATS THE FIRST THING SHE HAS EATEN SINCE SUNDAY
and that was before the steroid injection
MY CLEVER GIRL SO WANTS TO BE HERE.....WELL DONE MUMMYS SPECIAL BABY :Luv2:
-
 aww he sounds a good vet, hope that the steroid will help, like you say you've nothing to lose. Glad Issey's had a nice day in the garden and I hope she enjoys a little mushy tuna

He is the best Jane
I just sent him a message with my theory that maybe she has an infection due to the chemo making her white blood cells low and maybe an antibiotic injection would help......love him he replied saying we could try anything
So collecting one tomorrow
-
I really think although vets have the medical knowledge, some of us are tuned in with our cats. I think you could well be right :)
I think it is the same reason I had a gut-feeling about Clapton ans wasn't stressing all week as I was confident he would get the all-clear (not that I would rely on gut instinct over vet care).
Glad she is still here and still happy with all the TLC she is getting from you Michelle
-
How are you both today Michelle? Hoping all is calm with Issey and yourself! :Luv:
-
Well listen to this one .....
This morning she actually asked for some food so i put down some of the crappy tuna which she eat.
I then had to go and drop hubby at work and collect her antibiotic injection....
When i got back she asked again for some food so i put out some more crappy tuna which she eat and then she went to the bowl that had felix wet food in it and started eating :wow:
Anyway, I gave her the AB injection and had to take my grandad to the Drs....while i was out i decided to buy some purina one kitten dry food just to try and see if she would eat it, gave her some when i got back and she eat it
this evening she has eaten alittle felix again and some more dry food
to say i am over the moon doesnt even touch it......
She is still very weak and deff not out of the woods i know that but can you imagine how pleased i am that i didnt pts on monday ?!
I am going to go to bed tonight, i am shattered, drained and need some sleep and i'm pretty sure she will be ok.
-
:) Great news Michelle - it is amazing how they can pull back from the brink. Clapton has done it to me several times. Over 2 years ago I thought he was a goner but at the moment, he has no sores and is looking better than ever :) (even though he hates me and thinks I am out to get him  )
-
Wow! That is amazing Michelle, sounds like your initial thought to the reaction of the chemo/white cells etc was correct! :wow:
Sleep well tonight Michelle, Im sending you both vibes to continue with much of the same that is happening now! ;) :Luv:
-
Thats excellent news! Its the best feeling isnt it? when they suddenly start to eat again.
-
Thats wonderful and long may it continue

Long may it continue, indeed ;D

-
I am glad she had a good day, and hope you have another good day today
-
Another good day :evillaugh:
I am amazed at the turn around in her....a couple of days ago she was laying on the floor starring into space.... just need to build her up now :Luv2:
-
Am really pleased to hear this.
-
This just gets better! ;D :Luv:
-
Wonderful news hun, so pleased for you both  :wow:
-
She's not quite as perky today but still ok-ish
Found out last night that my vet is leaving at the end of next week.....i am totally gutted.
He has been with us every step of the way, can't believe we will have to finish this journey without him :(
I can still be in contact via text and internet but it wont be the same as he wont be practicing
-
I'm glad you've had some good days with Issey and that she's still coping. I can understand how you feel about your lovely vet going - its so important to have someone you trust when you're going through something like this. I hope his replacement is just as nice
-
I can't find her - She was in the garden but she's gone :shify:
Trying not to panic, I am sure she is ok but worried as she is still so weak
Don't You just love em !
-

Although I am stung to pieces by stinging nettles :(
Going to vets tomorrow as she is constipated
-
Oh heck! That must of been scary for you! :Luv:
There's an awful lot of constipation of late with our babes in this section! :(
-
Glad you found her hunnie
-
Good luck at the vets ( sorry your good vet is leaving - mine must be at least retiring age or over , i dread it when he finishes , he has been there as long as i remember !)
Glad Issey has been eating and feeling better -long may it continue .
I am back again tomorrow at the vets with Bungly - think he is only weighing her to check the fluid too.
-
I am back again tomorrow at the vets with Bungly - think he is only weighing her to check the fluid too.
Good luck at vets
Issey has stopped eating again :tired:
Hardly anything yesterday and hasnt got up for anything this morning.
She tried to do a poo last night but nothing came on...then when she was walking in the frontroom a nugget fell out
Going to go vets this morning ....she must be very uncomfortable
-
Glad you found her :)
Poor girl, hope the vet can help her and her appetite improves again. Sorry to hear the vet is leaving I would feel the same if mine left too, hopefully the new vet will great too
-
Didnt go too well -
Because she didnt get up for food this morning I didnt realise, until I got her up for the vets, that She has become VERY weak on her back legs....very wobberly and only walking alittle way before laying down :'(
She had another steroid injection and I'll see how she is in 24hrs.....
She isnt consipated so that was good
Damn this :censored: Lymphona.....I hate you :'(
-

-
Sorry Michelle
-
So sorry Issey isnt so good again.
Hope the steroid works and makes her feel better and eat .

-
-
Thinking of you both, it's just heartbreaking
-
Steroid injection has kicked in......She started eating again last night and was starving this morning....she is alot brighter again :Luv2:
But how long do you continue with them ?
Hubby doesnt think keep giving them to her is a good idea (but then he wanted pts last monday)
but whats the worse they can do to her ?!!!!!!!!!
-
Glad they have worked - I think you could keep using them till they no longer work, or if she does develop a side effect, but it could buy her some quality time.
-
glad she has picked up again.
hugs to you both ...
-
I agree with Desley, it can't hurt to repeat the injections for as long as they continue to work
So pleased she's brighter today and wanting her food again xxx
-
its about quality of life Michelle and at the moment she sounds like she is doing ok
-
its about quality of life Michelle and at the moment she sounds like she is doing ok
Seconded! ;) :Luv:
-
Thanks guys
She deff isnt in a hurry to go anywhere :Luv: what a fighter :Luv:
She has been really clingy today, pick me up...put me down...pick me up...which is quite tiring but I'm not complaning
and now she is laid out in the evening sun in the garden
XXXX
-
Glad they have worked - I think you could keep using them till they no longer work, or if she does develop a side effect, but it could buy her some quality time.
Totally Agree, if they are Helping Issey lead a relatively Normal Life, I'd carry on with them and following the vet's advice
so Glad she's Feeling Better :)
give Issey a cuddle from Me :care:
-
;D that's great news! I would give them for as long as they are helping her - we did Schui under vet's instructions and they gave him alot of time, I hope they continue to help Issey for a good while yet
-
Been in and had a chat with my vet today.....(he is so wonderful)
Anyway, going to continue gives her steroid injections....they are helping her and at the end of the day what is the worse they can do to her ....and without them that is going to happen anyway !!!!
So all the time she is happy its all good....but obv the cancer is continuing to wreck her body and the injections wont work forever
but she is fighting so hard, she has come back from the brink twice now :Luv2:
-
Sending lots of positive vibes for the steroid injections to keep working for a long time
-
Lots of love to Issey and I hope that the injections work for a long time

Gave her another steroid injection today and she still seems to be doing ok on them
She was out the front with my this evening ....first time my neighbour has seem her for a while, My neighbour was shocked with the weight she has lost.
I can see she has lost weight but where i am with her all the time i spose it doesnt look as bad to me :(
But she deff has quality of life still....and has had almost an extra 2wks so far....I want more please :Luv2:
-
When you are with them all the time you dont notice rthe changes like someone who hasnt seem them for a while.
I am shocked now when I look back at Kockas last pictures but I didnt see her like that at the time.
I hope she has lots of time with you
-
Hoping Issey has loads more time yet with you
-
me too. Every day is so special. wishing you lots of good vibes
-
Just popping by to top up the good wishes and
-
Extra special vibes today Michelle, Love to Issey too! :Luv:
-
I was the same with Max hunnie, I knew he'd lost weight, but I didn't realise how much, as I was with him every day.
Keeping up with those positive Issey vibes  xx
-
Sending keep strong vibes to you and wee Issey
-
Not as good again today......laying under the table and hasnt got up for breakfast !
Was ok in the first half of yesterday but seems to gone down again....
She only had a steroid injection Friday so that shouldnt have run out already
Vets this morning I think
-
Fingers crossed for today Michelle. Some steroid jabs do only last a few days.
-
Ok looks like the VN gave me a short acting steroid injection for Issey on Friday ....
So have now got 2 long acting ones, have given her the first one but just hope she hasnt gone too low that she wont pick up again :(
-
Hoping that this longer acting one works Michelle, we got some confusion over how long Schui's were for at one point plus we saw a different vet at the practise as our usual one was off! it's always good to double check because it can be a worry when they soon go off again
-
Sending more positive vibes Michelle~~~~~hope the steroids act quickly! :Luv:
-

-
Thinking of you and your darling baby.
HUGE love,
Sparklecat and Tulip
xxx
-
God bless steroid injection's :Luv:
She had picked up by last night, eating again and happier....
My vet gave Me a spare injection so going t give her that in 4 days.
What I need to do is keep her topped up with the steroid and not let it get out of her systum (sp)
-
:) That's great news! you're right it's knowing when the steroid just need that top up, I'm so pleased she is doing well
-
I so wish we had started these earlier.....say like when we stopped the first lot of chemo
because all her lumps have gone (due to the steroid injections) but sadly the cancer is in major organs
but maybe we could have stopped that ?!
-
I dont think the steroids would of stopped the cancer Michelle hun, its something that perks them up and helps keep them strong! ;)
So glad she has perked up Michelle.... :wow: ;) :Luv:
-
Sweetie you must not think "what if" - I know its hard not to do and we would all do it and all do do it but you are doing everything in your power now and thats what is important.
-
Which steriods is she on Michelle?
I know they pick them up great after having them, its the only reason my Ollie is alive :shy:
-
Sorry CC didnt see your question
she has 0.3 of Dexafort (injection).....it works out she needs them every 4 days
I have noticed there seems to be a problem with her right eye....not really sure what though, it just seems smaller and not quite right.
Can Lymphoma spread to the brain ??
-
How is Issey doing Michelle I do think of her every day
-
How is Issey doing Michelle I do think of her every day
Awww thank you Jane, You really dont know how much that means to me
She's doing ok, the steroids are keeping her going.
She is eating well but not putting any weight on sadly....she's a little bag on bones :( but she seems happy enough.
Just alittle worried about this eye
-
I dont know the answer to that Michelle, is it not the lymph nodes it takes over? Hoping that its nothing to worry about!
Sending you and Issey much love, so glad the steroids are helping her! :Luv:

 that's good, when it's a lovely day and Pep is out in the garden I always wonder whether Issey is out enjoying the sun too :Luv: Glad that she still has an appetite even if she is thin I think it is a good sign. I'm not sure about her eye either, hope that it is something minor
-
How's Issey's eye now Michelle? :Luv:
-
How's Issey's eye now Michelle? :Luv:
Its still slightly strange but to be honest the trip to the vets would stress her so much that I'm going to leave it for now.
I have to pop in there in the week for another steroid injection so will mention it to the vet though.
You know what though, My Baby has had 3 extra weeks so far :Luv2: and although she is slow and alittle weak she is enjoying her life.

.....And that's what we call "quality" ;)
Yep, I would not be too bothered about "slightly strange" when it came to upsetting her over a vet trip.... Glad she is doing well!
-
me too - I'd say if it isn't bothering her I'd try not to let it bother you
-
Glad Issey is still doing okay - hope her eye gets better - not been on here for long lately as have been soo busy at home -but always thinking of her :Luv2:
-
Glad she is still enjoying life.
-
So glad Issey is still doing so well, and enjoying life - it may be slower but she is still with you and both of you are enjoying this time together - long may it continue
-
Thinking of you and Issey and am so glad she is enjoying life.
-
Not such a good day, very cuddly and down.....not sure if thats because its so cold (have put heating on).
Hopefully its just a one off
-
Awww, hope its just the rotten weather, and having a nice warm radiator will cheer her up :Luv2:
-
yes hope a nice snooze near a warm radiator will help her feel better. Hope tomorrow's a better day
-
Im hoping its the horrid weather too! Hope the heating on makes her feel more comfortable and perks her up again! :Luv:
-
 awww, hope it's just the weather, it could be Michelle even Pepper wasn't bothered to go out today and usually has a tantrum when I bring him in.
-
Hope Issey is better today.
-
Hope you've got some sunshine today, and that Issey is feeling much better  :Luv:
-
OH sweetheart I am so sorry to hear this. Thinking of you both.
-
how are things today? I'm sure this change of weather to so much cooler and windy is having an effect on our poorly babes.
-
Abit worried today as one pupil is larger than the other and she seems to have a slight head wobble (it really is very slight though)
Have sent message to my vet....
Really want to be with Issey today but cant as my Husbands uncle is in his last few hours and we need to be with him................
-
Fingers crossed it is nothing, and good luck with today
-
Hope its nothing to worry about Michelle, hope your OH uncle has a peaceful passing.... Thinking of you all! :Luv:
-
Hope all is ok
-

-
She is not so good today -
Had chat with Vet and the eye is neological from the cancer spreading.....nothing we can do about it :(
She hasnt got her normal 4 days with the steroid injection....given her one this evening and that is only 3 days apart (vet did say this would happen)
So think she is going down hill bless her :'(
-
So sorry to hear this Michelle.
Strangely enough Bungly is having a first off day today too -she isn''t eating much and her tummy is getting almost as big as when she had it drained - she is due back next Monday , but will have to see how things are the next day or two !
This is so unfair as both of them are still quite young :'( :'( :'(
-
So sad for both of you.....sending lots of gentle strokes for Issey and Bungly
-
Issey may be going downhill, but it has been a very gentle slide, Michelle, and you have held her paw all the way
I think you've managed her illness really really well, and I'm sure will continue to do so
-

-

-
Michelle, she may be going downhill but Issey is being loved and she'll remember that. Cherish the time left.
-
Aw hunnie, feel for you  If she is going downhill, its a gradual decline, hope you still have a good amount of time left with each other, but as others have said, cherish every moment together
-
Thanks everyone
The sad thing is my girl so wants to live, you can tell that by the way she is fighting.
She deff isnt suffering but i am noticing that she is getting slower
I am so proud of her, she is an amazing cat

I am sorry things sound like they are spreading, but she is definitely a fighter (and has your love to help her), so hopefully she will have some more quality time with you

Thanks for your continued support everyone
-
Glad she's keeping comfortable Michelle and outliving the vet's expectations ;D
I hope she makes it to her 6th birthday too

-
She is worse today, very bunged up, very frail and was sick after eating.
Waiting for the vets to open, going to pop her along....
I want to try the other AB (10day one) as I think this one isn't the right one.....but I'm not sure if its too late tbh :(
This will be the first time of seeing the other vet (mine left a couple of weeks ago), bit worried about that really .....as neither Issey or I are used to her.
I think I owe it to Issey to try the AB that worked last time but i know for Issey's sake I can only giver her the weekend to respond :(
-
I do hope you are right and the new ab will help, although dont know if they can give a different kind so soon. Fingers crossed she improves over the weekend.
-
Thanks Desley
So hard knowing what to do -
My Mum is anti pts, well not anti as such but she thinks it is done too early alot of the time......where as my hubby would have had her pts 6wks ago !
Just noticed that Issey has snott coming out of her nose now, not loads
10mins now till the phonelines go on at the vets.....seems like it is taking ages
-
It is a very tricky situation Michelle, as they can't fully tell us how they are feeling, but it is better to let them go a week early than make them suffer for one day. i have seen what happens when people leave it too late to pts, and it isn't pleasant for the animals, so I wouldnt take too much notice of your mum - at the end of the day Issey is yours, you know her best and you and your vet will decide if there is hope with treatment - and you have tried so much for her, she coudn't have asked for a better mum. xx I really feel for you, I know how hard it is to weigh up with a terminal illness, and the fact she is so young makes it even worse.

You're right I am not going to listen to anybody else.... I know her best...and I will do what I think is right
THANKS DESLEY
Spoken to VN and have app at 9.30
-
Best of luck sweetie, I can only echo what Desley has said, as she is so right.
You know Issey better than anyone, and I know that if there is any way that she still has a fighting chance, then you will give her that chance. Hope the vets can prescribe the other ABs and that she responds
I know how hard this is, and how much it tears you apart, so I'm sending love and strength to you xxxx
-
I wish you very good luck for the vets today and only you and Issey can make that final big decision together - they usually tell you when they have to go
-
good luck Michelle
-
Best of luck at the vets Michelle, I can't really add much to what others have said other than what I went through with Schui earlier this year and making the decision was so hard especially when one day they are better then the next down you never seem to know and keep hope. You just have to go with what you feel, you can't do no more. Hugs to you and Issey
-
She has been pumped full of AB's
but on the way home she took a turn for the worse......she is comfortable, dont thinkn she knows much of what is going on, my Son and I are laying on the floor with her
she isnt suffering...her breathing is becoming shallow now
I am quite calm atm
-
Stay strong, Michelle. Issey can feel how much you love her and that will be making all the difference whatever is happening to her. :care:
-
oh MIchelle I am so sorry, it must be heartbreaking
-
Michelle both of you have been so strong throughout this I know we are all with you in spirit
-
Sorry Michelle - I know you won't let her suffer  - I know you would do anything for her
-
This is heartbreaking :(
I know you will do the best for Issey and you wouldn't let her suffer....no matter how much your suffering yourself :(
So sorry hun
-
Thinking of you all at this moment Michelle.....
-
I am so sorry to hear how bad Issey has got - this is so unfair on both of you and so upsetting.
You have been a wonderful meowmmy throughout all this and i know you will do the best you can for Issey.
I only hope i can do as well as you have.
Bungly sends extra special gentle    to you both and we are thinking of you here.

RIP Issey, play hard on the Bridge.
-
Thank You all so very much for sharing this journey with Me and Issey, it has meant so much having friends who care and I thank each one of You from the bottom of my broken heart.
Today really couldnt have gone any better tbh ......and I made the decision not a day too late or a day too early
on returning from the vets this morning she just laid on the floor quietly, then about midday she suddenly wanted to go in the garden so I helped her out there to lay under her fav bush....then she wanted something to eat and had half a plate of tuna....
She started crying about 2.15 which is when I knew it was time......
It was done differently to how I have seen before...the vet gave her 3 injections in her tummy first, she was so good as just lay on the table...then I picked her up and
I held her with her head on my shoulder and her arms around my neck.....that was so lovely because she was so close to Me and the vet could get her arm.
I brought her home for a few hours which was lovely as we had loads of cuddles, I have now taken her back to the vets where she will stay for the weekend.....I will collect her Monday and take her to be cremated
I think I am just totallly numb tonight, I have cried myself stupid and feel sort of in a daze now....can't imagine life without Issey :'( :'( :'( :'(
-
You did well for Issey
-
So sorry michelle You both put up a brave fight
RIP Issey xx
-

-
I'm so sorry Michelle
-
So so sorry to hear the news :(
-
I am so terribly sorry Michelle - you were both so brave and did everything you could and she went to the bridge peacefully and knowing how much you loved her.
We are all thinking of you here and Bungly sends you lots of    .
Take care of yourself - i know what you are going through and its hard !
-
i am so sorry to hear she couldnt win this battle, but she had a fantastic mum who gave her every chance possible and then allowed her to go with dignity and with the person who loved her most - she is now with Missy, and they will be saying how fantastic you are. Please take care of yourself and make sure you keep drinking. RIP little one. xx
-
So very sorry to hear this Michelle

A soft full tail, exquisite eyes,
soft purring at the door,
playful swatting, frequent naps,
toys strewn across the floor.
With gentle rubs and playful purring
you made your presence known
and, knowing you were always there,
we never felt alone.
You loved it when we scratched your ears,
we swear it made you smile.
We could never stay angry with you,
we couldn’t if we tried.
The soft sweet purring now has ceased,
no gentle rubs to greet us,
just memories of a special friend
and good times are all we see.
Although we miss you dearly,
we’ll try not to feel so blue,
because we know that there’s a bridge
for special cats like you.
:RIP: Issey
-
You know I am picking Issey up from my vets tomorrow to take her to be cremated.....
Well this is gonna sound kinda sick but i can't wait to see her, i'm almost excited.
My husband doesn't understand and thinks i'm weird.....maybe i am ?!
Even my Son says I'm odd
Can anyone understand where I am coming from ?
-
I understand  I've never told anyone this but I asked the vet if I could take a pic on my phone of Tiggy after she had gone - I think I just needed to be able to see that she was gone and remember how peaceful she looked :(
I'm not sure how they would have kept her body over the last few days so prepare yourself for her not looking the same
-
   Your not weird Michelle....I would be exactly the same....In a way I suppose its part of the realisation of it all, also wanting to know they are still okay!
-
Not weird at all, I took a pic on my phone of Max after we'd let him go, firstly because J wasn't there and I wanted him to see that Max was at peace, and secondly so I could remember how beautiful my boy looked even when his life was gone  I still have the photo, can't bring myself to delete it just yet
-
Just caught up with this and was so sorry to hear that Issey had lost the battle :( you tried so hard together and im sure Issey knew how much you loved her, shes safe now re-united
with Missy and free from pain   rip sweet one x
-
So very sorry that Issey lost her battle - RIP Sweetheart xxx
Thinking of you Michelle
-
Don't feel so excited today :'(
Got mixed feeling .....feel quite sick tbh.....think is gonna be a tough day :'(
I took loads of pics of Issey when i brought her home on Friday.....I made a bed for her in the bottom half of a carrier, I put her paw over her face like she used to sleep and then put some roses in with her ..... she looked so beautiful and peaceful.
-
This has been an awful sad time for you Michelle, I cant even imagine how you feel
Im glad you took some pics of Issey, you will always remember her then (not that you would ever forget) :)
-
   Thinking of you!
-
My baby is home forever......in a beautiful wooden sleeping cat :Luv2:
I also have some in a scatter box so I can put some under her bush and some with Missy.
I used the Surrey pet cemetery, what a lovely place it is.
There's a room just like you would get at a Crematorium with a little platform and a curtain. I could have had a 10min service but I didnt feel we needed it.
I cut some fur from her and the man put it in a lovely little green drawstring bag......
So thats it.....all over, can't quite believe it really...but there you go !!
I will do a tribute for Rainbow Bridge page but not today
~ Issey ~

I always say goodnight to Isseys picture, so I have just told her to find Boy and give him a head lick
Sending you much love Pav..cant believe its 3mths, seems like only yesterday  doesnt get any easier does it xx
-
There are no words, except that you did your best to help her, and the grace to let her go when she'd had enough. I was there in July and it is a horrid place to be and you will always miss them. Please concentrate on the happier times you shared. :grouphug:
-
Me and Issey just had a dance round the front room to Madonna's "True Blue".....
It was lovely, she had a paw round each side of my neck and kept kissing me
I sang the song to her but I changed the words to "True Blue Issey I love you"....sang them to her while crying my eyes out
No point to this message really, I'm just so incredibly sad about losing her
Got my rainbow yesterday and today I heard this song for the first time since she died
-
She will always be around you Michelle, what lovely signs for her mum! ;)
-
Awww - I think thats what's referred to as bitter sweet
-
Just read the whole of this thread - and cried so hard
Still can't believe all this happened and my baby has gone
It will be 5mths tomorrow that my girl could fight no more
I Love You With All My Heart Issey, I Miss You With Every Bone In My Body xxx
-
Oh Michelle. :care:

Sorry Michelle
I haven't looked at Willow's thread as it just brings it all back. We don't want to forget her but it is still too raw :'(
-
Sorry Michelle
I haven't looked at Willow's thread as it just brings it all back. We don't want to forget her but it is still too raw :'(
  MARK
I am slightly further down the road than you Mark, You are still at the really raw stage
I have read through this a few times since she died but not in the early days I don't think ...but each time I have cried my heart out.
-
Aw hunnie
I've done the same with the last threads I posted about Max, sometimes you just need to remember, no matter how much it hurts
-
I look at my Rainbow Bridge posts but find it hard to think about when my lost babes were ill before I lost them, so haven't braved reading any posts about that. I think it would hurt too much.
-
Know just how you feel Michelle  I read through my Gypsy's thread the other day with tears streaming down my face, its nearly 2 yrs now :(
I feel exactly the same as Clare, there is a need to remember every detail - I think it helps the grieving process somehow.
-
  I understand too, I read through my Schui's a while back and sobbed my heart out, it's nearly a year now and I still can't look at those recent photos.
-
      Michelle
Haven''t been back to Bunglys thread either .
-
I feel exactly the same as Clare, there is a need to remember every detail - I think it helps the grieving process somehow.
For me its also to help me remember that I did absolutely everything I could for my boy, as sometimes I do sit and think the 'what if's....', its way to make me realise there was nothing else I could have tried :shy:
-
:care: :grouphug:

Doesn't work for me. I find myself thinking of what ifs that wouldn't really have been fair but would have extended how long I had my babes around. I then drive myself to distraction trying to figure out how selfish that would've been, and whether I gave up too easily. It's horrible, so I try to focus on what I had with them before their illnesses and think about how content they all were.
Michelle, hope you're OK today. :care:

When reading it I can see that I did all I could for her but as you say there are always the "what if's" ......
Its also nice to see that she had so many good days too, they deff out weighed the bad ones...
And the support I got from you guys was amazing, thank you again x
I just want to send a hug to all those who miss their babies -
