Title: New Go-Cat indoor sample
Post by: Liza on March 06, 2009, 16:26:08 PM
I don't know if anyone else received a free sample of the new Go-Cat indoor dry food through the door.........well I thought I'd try it as Jet & Cruz's bowl needed a top up with biscuits.  Well!!!!! I have never seen biscuits been eaten that quickly!!!    Cruz normally will nibble them "if she has to" but these were completly demolished - poor Jet really had to nudge her way in.   Has anyone else tried these yet?  I'm assuming that they are the normal poor quaility like Whiskas etc

 :thanks:

I must say that my lot absolutely adore these and they are demolished in seconds, which to me is better than throwing more expensive foods away cos they don't like them.

I hope so, because there are two bags of them in the back of the van now   No, I know they will - this is their second week of begging for them.

Hmm I need to get new biscuits for them anyway so may give them a whirl - cheaper than Science Plan.  As you say I'm sure that they'll turn their noses up when I buy a big box  :Luv2:

If you want a cheaper alternative to hills try jameswellbeloved, pah brand or pro plan, such a big drop in quality to go cat may well end in runny bums

Very true - they're not overly keen on PAH (in silver bag) it get eaten but just slowly - it was the way that the demolished the Go-Cat but as you say I'm concerned about the quality hmmmm

I think cats will demolish Go-cat the same way a lot of us would demolish a Big Mac or Fish & Chips but having them every day would make us ill and give us a short life expectancy. When I met OH, the cats were on Whiskas dry but I soon knocked that on the head  :evillaugh:

You get what you pay for really. Apart from cheap cereal & colours, they contain just the basic vitamins and don't have the anti-oxidants and trace minerals etc that the better ones have.

I am waiting for the Easter offers at PAH to be announced as usually they have own brand premium and Science Plan BOGOF. Even when it isn't on offer, the portion size of quality foods is much smaller so doesn't work out as expensive as it may seem.

I've got my fingers crossed for 5kg bags of Hills being BOGOF again this year especially with all the price increases

Me three!  I bought one bag the other day at full price and it hurt  :evillaugh: I've always bought it when it's been BOGOF or 2 for £cheaper since the boys were kittens and they were two last month!

One thing I did notice is that the PAH own brand in the silver bag was almost double the price of their 'Purely' Pets at Home brand which looks like it's being marketed as a premium food.  2kg of PAH purely was £5 odd whereas the stuff in the silver bags was £9.29.  I bought a 4kg bag which was a bit better at £15ish.

2.5 kilos of Orijen cost me over £15 :(

I got my sample today...though it won't be served up as Z has a wheat allergy and I can't risk him snaffling them!

So am trying to decide who gets the sample, my dad (for Mizzy) or my Grandfather (for Koscha) as both of them feed Go-cat...

I'm waiting for BOGOF announcements on PAH premium, its the only way I can build up a Stockpile.....commmeeee onnnnnnnnn!
