has anyone else ever had to take the cat out at midnight to go do their business i ask this because our salem started crying like crazy to go out and do his business but i knew if i let him out i would not get him back in till about 3am so i put the harness on him and took him out into the garden (stupidly not taking a coat) and weve planted raspberries in the garden so the ground is freshly dug up i took him there and i had to attach him to the canes lightly cause i knew he wouldnt run with the harness on and i had to walk to the other side of the garden i know the reason he needed to go was cause we didnt leave him out for as long as usual but it was too bad weather to leave him out there

If your not using one allready Id suggest using a litter tray for him overnight! ;)

You need to have an indoor tray cos if Kali has a tummy problem like Franta has at present time does not matter, just like in a human, its rush to the tray or have an accident. trays are easier to clean than carpets and stuff!
Cats are not like dogs!

I agree with the others,
and its always best to have an indoor try too as its the quickest way of picking up on a problem (ie: UTI or upset tummy)

Simon will whinge to go out at night but im afraid im mean and ignore him, if i turn the light off he will then use the tray :innocent:

As posted on another thread, I am really annoyed with my brother and SIL for getting annoyed that their cat has started pooing by the back door when the poor thing hasn't got a tray or a flap - I think it is cruel to not provide trays. Imagine how uncomfortable (and dangerous) it is having to "hold it in" :(

i have got a litter tray i had just cleaned it last night i even steam cleaned it after using the cleaning disinfectant so it didnt smell like the cleaner im apalled that youd think that i dont have a tray for them over night i put it in my post i dont know why it didnt appear i have 4 cats so i know to have a litter tray he just wouldnt use it and before anyone start saying about urinary tract infection he went for a poo!!!

I know you dont know me that well but Im really annoyed cause ive been on here for god knows how long so id of thought youd know that im not stupid enough not to have a litter tray i have a cat that occassionally suffers from UTI so i know the signs they used to have 2 trays just for my younger 3 but found they only used one so the other is a spare and my older cat has a tray in my brothers bedroom

I think people thought that it was the answer to your problem as your OP didnt mention that he doesnt like to use the trays he has access to.
My simon is similar and prefers to go outside but if i just ignore he will use the tray, it just depends who breaks first, he has such a pathethic wail when he wants something :tired:

Sorry Kally but I was just responding to info given - just like the post the other day where we didn't know all the facts about the injured cat, we can only go on what we read.

when I read your initial post, I did think, why don't you get a litter tray?? :-: as you hadn't mentioned you had one

i didnt know that there was text missing until today and he usually does go in litter tray if i ignore him but for some reason he wouldnt last night i know he had to go cause of the fact that i had to get him in early cause the weather was bad but last night it was ok enough to take him out but too cold for him to butter off til 3am

sorry i just get so frustrated when i feel im being talked down to i already have it from the vet at the private practice everyone considers her to be the best cause she has so many qualifications including some in sign language to me that doesnt always make them the best vet she talks down to my sister aswell which is why she has changed vets

We dont mean to talk down to anyone, we just try to help and agree that vets who talk down to people are not nice.........I like to be able to talk on equal terms to my vet and be treated as an intelligent person.
Only problem with that is that sometimes she springs into vet medical lingo which I dont understand :rofl: :rofl:

mine keeps telling me to feed all my cats seperately and how can i do that when one will only eat his dinner when and where the others eat their dinner

know exactly what you mean, we had a different vet when ours was on holiday and she said, very accusingly "how long is it since this cat has been seen she needs a dental"! I said that if she had read the her records she would see that Summer had only been a couple of months ago and there was nothing wrong with her teeth then!!! She does need a dental now but it is because of the virus that she has! Was pleased to see our vet back last time I went, she is lovely and will be carrying out Summer's dental next week.

I also couldnt feed my cats seperately and when I had just Misa and Sasa I tried it cos was trying to teach Sasa thay I was not as scary as she thought, but it stressed proor Misa and me out so much we had to stop.
My cats free feed and maybe Misa feeds a bit often :shify: :shify:
