Well certainly not planned seeing as its not long since I adopted BB, but, a new girl will be coming tomorrow. She's at a persian rescue centre and came in for grooming the other day (when I say grooming, actually it was clipping her rather woolly coat off - not something I'm ever keen to do). She was in need of a new home and because she absolutely hates being groomed she was going to be difficult to place - so I'm giving her a trial run here where she will have her own personal groomer on hand to help get her more comfortable with it (hopefully!) Anyway, theres a pic of her here, she's Lucy 6 yr old chinchilla persian (if she stays here she'll have to have another name cos I've already got a Lucy - I thought maybe Lacey/Lacie whichever spelling) - well of course thats if she stays....... ;)

You are a glutton for punishment! :evillaugh:
She's absolutely stunning, I agree we need photos when she arrives!
-
So very much hope she settles in with the others Gillian. All paws crossed here for the best outcome. As others have indicated, no one putting bets on her moving on but obviously the current babes have to take priority
-
Well her pen at the rescue will remain free, in case she has to return ;) She doesnt look her best now (since I chopped her coat LOL!) Its not what I would have chosen to do if I'd thought about taking her on at the time of her 'grooming' session. It was only thinking about it afterwards (fatal, this thinking!) seeing how distressed she got and that the only option the rescue had would have been to pay for any potential new owner to have her shaved at the vets a couple of times a year - that I decided. Here I will have the time to get her used to grooming slowly and build up her trust. Thats the theory anyway.
So, luckily BB has now graduated and is part of the group now (more or less anyway - still has her 'safe' room overnight) there is room for another 'student' Lacie, LOL! ;D I will go and collect her at 2pm tomorrow (I'll have a chance to see the rescue too - oh dear!)
-
Definately Oh dear cos they have another one with the same problem apparently called Lily ;D

I like the look of Lily - but it is absolutely definite she can't go with other cats, so...phew...... :innocent:
-
Oh must have missed that bit !
-
So lily's not going to make the baker's dozen (13) then? :naughty: :evillaugh:

Here's Lacie safely home! See what I mean about her coat? bit choppy, but it will grow again! Needs her eyes cleaning too, but all in good time. She's quite confident, purry and very interested in whats going on the other side of the door! :shify:

A chinchilla for the Persian Palace...what intense eyes! :Luv:
-
OMG she is adorable
-
Congrats on your new arrival ;D
If it didnt work out you could be hired to visit her as personal groomer rather than being dumped at the vets for dematting :wow:
-
Awww she's gorgeous and I think reading between the lines she's got her feet well and truly under the table, one lucky girl and it will be great if she settles with the others :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
She's a pretty wee thing :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:

She is pretty - I am sure she wont be leaving you Gillian, it didn't happen last time!!

-
She is just gorgeous :Luv: :Luv2: the white really stands out against the black outline of the eyes and nose
-
Thanks everyone :thanks: She's had something to eat and I've sat with her and she's even had a little play with the ping pong ball :Luv:

The rescue have sent me customers before but they'd decided that Lacie was beyond normal grooming. However, I've just sat with her on the floor in the room and run a slicker brush gently all over her and she was fine, she purred and even did a quick roll over on her back!
-
She is stunning and what amazing eye liner she has ;D
I found with Misa who hates being groomed that once all the little matts and tanglers were gone he actually doesnt mind, till the next crop.......which he now has grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......maybe Lacie will be the same ;D
Lacie really does suit her ;D
-
Aw bless she's a doll, it will be no time before she is as pretty as one of the gang! (Dont tell Gwynnie I said that though!) :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
What a beautiful addition to your family, love the eyeliner.
-
I note the addition to the original title of this thread was 'She's Home' rather than 'She's Here' ;)
says it all really - by the look of her Lacie might have done the amendment herself
-
Wow what a stunner - she won't be going back - you can tell the way she's looking as if to say - yeah - I like this new place' ;D
Lacie does suit her too............
-
What a beautiful addition, she looks totally at home ;)
-
OMG what a beautiful little lady she is. :Luv: :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
she is gorgeous Gillian and I have a felling that she won't be going far! ;) lol truly :Luv2: sending big head rubs and  for the new arrival.
keep us posted with pics.... as always ! ;)
-
Thanks again :thanks: She was fine during the night, although I heard her meowing in the early hours, but it was a very refined Chinnie meow (not a grating 'yowing' like BB LOL!) BB is well annoyed at not being able to get into 'her' old room, despite now having the larger room - honestly, kids!
I took Lacie in her breakfast this morn but when I went back a bit later she hadnt touched it, so I sat in the room with her - and she proceeded to eat the lot :-: She purrs for England and sort of paws the air with one paw LOL!
I note the addition to the original title of this thread was 'She's Home' rather than 'She's Here' ;)
Hmmm.....must have been a Freudian slip LOL! :evillaugh:
-
What a beautiful girl :Luv2: Like there was ever any doubt :evillaugh:
-
So when is she getting signed over to you Gillian? :Luv2:

If you feel you've got too many now, I could take a few off your hands......

She is sooo beautiful :Luv2: . Dot actually enjoys grooming now, ever since I started using that grooming tool you put me on to, so perhaps Lacie will be better now she has met you. I so wish that Dot would let me have another cat, I never thought I liked persians until I saw yours but now I want one of my own!

good news about that grooming tool catbird - Gillian is my grooming guru and now my star is fine with grooming (although the tricky time of year for her is coming up when she seems to shed several kittens worth in about three days)
-
 another one. Congratulations Gillian she is just lovely x
-
Such a stunner, she has gorgeous eyes :) :Luv2:
-
Leigh was asking me what he was missing on Purrs... told him you now have 12 Gillian :evillaugh:

Glad the grooming tool is working for Dot, I hope Lacie will accept it.....some time in the future :-: I did manage to clean the other eye today!
Is it definite Dot wouldnt like another cat? ;)

All in good time LOL! If BB had her way, I'm sure she would be happy for Lacie to be integrated with the others, just so's she could get HER room back :evillaugh:

I think so. I did try taking another MC in about a year ago and it didn't go at all well. We did try slow intros, admittedly, however, they were not as slow and involved as is advised on here (I wasn't a regular reader then!)
Sadly, when she lived in a big mult-cat household, the other cats bullied her and she just doesn't seem able to trust other cats now. She looks after me so well and I love her so much that I couldn't stand her being unhappy, especially if I had caused it. I still want yer Persians though - want, want, want! :drool; :drool;
