-
One of each :Luv:
-
2 girls here :Luv2: I always thought i preferred boys, but i seem to have ended up with compeltely the opposite to what i'd have specified as my preference, but of course, i wouldn't have it any other way. :Luv:
Plus it means i can hopefully make room for a boy in a year or so :shy: :evillaugh:
-
4 boys and 2 girls here :Luv2:
-
This time a solo boy, previously three girls to one boy. Oh and my girls were always the most affectionate cuddle pusses ever.

It's interesting because I've always wondered what the average no of cats is per household, does anyone know?
-
2 girls and 2 boys here ;)

Still haven't decided 100% about Ruby :shify: ...will know for sure next Monday after vet visit but meanwhile assume 4 girls and 2 boys :)
-
Four chaps here! ;D
-
One of each here. Dave is my first boy since childhood though. I have shared a house with two other boy cats though and about 4 girls. So more girls in my life.
-
two boys and one girl here
-
Now, 2 boys.
A few months ago, 3 boys.
A few years ago, 1 boy.
When I was a kid, 1 boy then 2.
Have always had all boys - though it's completely by coincidence. I have nothing against girls.
-
1 gorgeous boy! Have had 2 boys in total. :Luv:
-
I have 3 girls and 2 boys - the boys are much more affectionate and loving and fairly easy to give pills ( especially Smartie).
Bungly is the most affectionate girl and often sleeps on the pillow and is usually not far from me , Sophie occasionally sleeps on bed - loving on her terms only and FiFi is loving on her terms only .- FiFi is pretty good for giving pills to.
The girls are little sods to give pills to and all girls hate their eyes being cleaned and run off !!-bungly being the worst by far with Sophie a close second.
The boys are dead good and just stand there.
-
Up until friday 13th it was 4 boys 4 girls ( 7 still at parentals as they wouldnt let them move out with me!!!)
Now its 3 Boys 4 Girls
-
Including the ones that live at my Mums: 4 girls and 3 boys
-
We have more boys than girls by default - more male ferals are around here and somehow I have found the boys easier to get on with my ladies are all in charge of an age group sometimes with another girls but mostly in charge of the boys. Except Sweetie she is in charge of all of them - the dogs have a girl leader in jazz and Sky and Sunny are hers to boss around unless one of them gets to personal with the cats then they are allowed to impale claws! :naughty:
-
Just the one boy now but OH says he's a wuss (he loves him anyway). Over time I've had 4 girls and 3 boys but Korky is the only cat whose gender I specifically chose. We wanted a friend for Rosie and decided (not sure why) that she might get on better with a male.
-
Measnt to say we have more boys than girls I will do a total on the cats later but have 43 currently - 3 more boys outside that we have seen but something is hoovering the food outside so no doubt lighter nights will show us more
On the dog from 1 girl and 2 boys
The boys may out number the girls in this house but my money is on my girls :naughty:
-
It's interesting because I've always wondered what the average no of cats is per household, does anyone know?

Ours is slightly larger than normal as we have 2 feral colonies now living in the house on a full time basis - - one was our own as noone could feed them, we duly trapped them and moved them in, the others came last year from a farm where the others were being poisoned so we took what was left
Some are ferals who through time have adapted to being indoor/outdoor but have a fear of other folks but seem to love us, I have the ones that somehow the heart won't let go - my boys Cougar, Puma and maverick - he has only 3 legs but I hand reared them all and then couldn't give them up - no where I home checked was good enough!
I have had and lost several to illness - Bert to Cancer in his heart at 21 - we adopted him at 15 when nobody else would along with his side kick Moose who outlived the vets prognosis of liver and kidney failure in 3 weeks he went on another 9 months and died in my arms - he also had lost an ear and a bit to skin cancer, Phoenix has a grade 2 heart murmer and vets said he wouldn't survice kittenhood but is now 6 and a lovely boy whose life works at his own pace.
We have Beijing whose Mum and siblings died from FIP she is a Corona carrier but is my little darling so she stayed then her side kick Archie used as a football - h e has brain damage but is as thick as theives with Jingjing and she keeps him right! I have our latest boy jester - some nice untrained child repeatedly shut his tail in a door so they may come off at some point
I think they should be included afterall DD has the same roughlyish under her roof and someone else said 11 and counting!
-
when i got little Mouse i worried quite a bit that i was getting out of control and that i'd never be strong enough to say no to a needy puss. then along came Merlin . my friends and family have finally resigned themselves to the fact that there is just no talking to me when it comes to my animals. 13 is a good number for me and i intend to stick to it for a bit ;)
-
one boy one girl that all i have room for they run me mad dont know how you can all look after soooo many
-
Lovely Boy and one girl. :)
-
4 Boys and 2 girls. I really do believe when people say female cats are more skittish. All of my boys are very loving and always love human attention. One of my gilrs is very loving too, she is even great with the kids :Luv2: but the other , Macey, she is just a witch with everyone, she attacks me, the kids and the other cats  She is really only happy when she is the centre of attention.
-
mmmm, soooo if the average is 4 then I should have another 2 then? very interesting
ooh, yay! excuse to use with hub to get two more instead of just the one :naughty:
-
5 girls and I boy called Japer :Luv2:
-
Currently 2 boys and 1 Girl,
Throughout my life the count is 4 Boys to 4 Girls!
-
8 boys and 5 girls :wow:
-
3 boys and a girl here, and contrary to what most other people have said, my girl is more affectionate than the boys put together :Luv:
-
Some of my boys are only affectinate in full body armour and welding gauntlets - got to love Ace and Blue though still one day the vet will see them for boosters and a chip but they are both calming down and Blue only hisses once before his breakfast saucer now and is upset if there in not cat mil in the kitchen after his tea - so readily available in the wild!
-
The proportion of cats to people seem to be going up again
-
My first cat was a neutered boy and he went missing for days at a time, so I told myself I would only have girls after that. It worked, they were always in for their dinner. I do believe girls wander less.
I have had seven grils since then, three of whom are still with me. When I went to get the seventh, Mitzi, the Siamese cross female kitten I had wanted so much, there was this glorious little Egyptian Mau male who had been fostered on Mitzi's mum. I could not resist.
I have to say, I love him to bits. Flynn is such a boy, bounding about the place. He is far less territorial than the girls and not at all jealous (two of the girls are very possessive). Having catrpoofed the garden, I do not have to worry about him wandering.
But Mitzi is still the most affectionate. Those Siamese genes win out!

I'm weird, I read that and went 'awwwww bless their little hearts'
-
Lesley the only reason that I hadnt included Lizs 43 or even you 38 is couse in the 5 or more category I can only count 5 girls and 5 boys ;D
However if you look at the 5 and more there are over 80 cats between 8 -16 people

-
I just included my inside/outside cats not my resident outside cats but not sure how many currently due to the dark nights but we may be getting a camera system for the garage - it has electric so may know how many we have really
Lesley now you have room for more!
Lottie thanks for the comment they are both stunning boys and hopefully one day we will be able to touch more than a passing poke!
-
I have 2 boys - Harvey and Ollie.
-
2 girls at the moment, although not through choice, I prefer one of each, but not managed that since Ginger went to the bridge, as have had to keep girls since then. Do have a male long term foster.
If you include bridge babes, it has been mainly girls, as Ginger outlived so many of them!!
Boys - 1
Girls - 9
those figures dont include fosters who have lived their life out here, or fosters currently here.
-
One of each here :wow:
-
4 boys and 2 girls here :Luv: :Luv2: :Luv: :Luv2: :Luv: :Luv2:
