Boo has been with us for 9 years and today (thanks to Jasmine, his rescuer, Sharon and Canterbury CP) we now have James living with us. :Luv:
James enroute.

Boo not wanting to be left out.

Smug James atop the nearest lap.

Doesn't look as if it'll take James long to get his paws under the table :) and I hope Boo accepts him quickly too. He certainly seems more curious than agitated in the picture.
-
Boo looks as if he's weighing up the risk of making a dash for the biscuits
and James looks a real gentleman cat - his name suits him very well
-
Lovely!! :Luv:

:Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2: Fingers crossed Boo accepts James and they can live together inharmony for many years xxx

Well at the mo, James is trying to impose his will.
Round one to James on points for a swipe. :innocent:
Round two went to Boo for returning a hiss and then ignoring. :P
Not too bad for less than 24 hrs.
James has his bed in the cloakroom where Boo never goes, and Boo is in a chair in a distant corner of the house. They have sniffed lots and lots of times with no reaction so hopefully the spats are just a temporary thing. 8)

they've got to do their man thing and pretend they're alpha males - but we know they're just pussycats underneath the bravado :Luv:

Hi HH,
Glad the journey went smoothly yesterday and you're all back safe 'n' sound.
What a good boy James was... love the pics, but he doesn't look best chuffed in the close-up.
He does look very distinguished though, sporting a fine set of whiskers. :Luv:
A great success for Purrs - thanks to you HH who was prepared to take an old-timer on!
(only hope Boo forgives us!)

If only more people would give oldies a chance

how are James and Boo getting on, Happy Hippy?
fur not flying, I hope
-
Well they follow each other around. Sniff each others noses and walk away.
A good start. :shoosh:
-
makes a change from sniffing each others' a*ses, which in my experience is what most stranger cats do ;D
sounds as if it's going to be just fine
-
I am so glad this is working out well.. Would love updates for our newsletter in time.. Just shows you what can be achieved some time..
-
Sounds as though everything's being very civilised. Long may it continue! ;D

We have progressed to doing this very gingerly today. :innocent:
Baby steps. ;D

There doesn't appear to be an icon for sniffing posteriors... this will have to do! :bum:
-
Well, I seemed to have killed this thread... hope I haven't offended HH? :scared:
I wonder how James's first week in his new home has gone?
-
Am sure you haven't Jasmine - suspect HH has just been up to her eyes keeping things amicable between the boys and enjoying their company. :)
-
I adore the last photo, I love that look that cats give :evillaugh:
-
No not upset at all, just left computer less by Boo who managed to kill my hardrive !
Well Jimjam and Boo are still ignoring each other most of the time and any attempted by Boo to make friends is rejected! But most of the time there is a amicable truce, we even found them asleep on the same chair for 10 minutes!!!
Will update with photos as soon as my husband can recover them.
HH

Good to see you back & I look forward to the pics!

Boo making sure no picture evidence of his casual indifference make it to the worlwide web.... :evillaugh: ;)
Welcome back HappyHippy. :)

Don't know if anyone remembers James (later to be called JimJam) whom we adopt via the forum from a cattery where he had been abandoned in Suffolk. Sadly he was PTS this evening due to a terminal cancer. Fortunately despite it's advanced spread he was in no pain or discomfort but he was on the threashold of that not being the case. He didn't quite make it to his first anniversary with us but the vet determinded that he was approx 20 years old! What a tough little one he was.
RIP JimJam and many thanks to everyone here and at CPL Canterbury for enabling us to have the pleasure of the past 11 months with him.
xx
-
So sorry to hear about JimJam :'(
RIP gorgeous boy xx
-
I am sorry to hear that but so pleased he was able to spend his final time with you.
-
So sorry for your loss!
RIP JimJam, play hard on Rainbow Bridge xxx
-
Really sorry to hear this, one small consolation is that he went knowing he was loved and having a home he could call his own
RIP JimJam, safe and sound at the Bridge by now xx
-
Am so very glad this old lad had a wonderful last few months shared with you in a loving, happyhome. Safe journey, Jim-Jam.
