Sylvester would always burrow under the duvet to sleep and we called it a Vesti-Lump when we saw it - a perfectly made bed then a big mound in the middle. :evillaugh:
Anyway last night went upstairs and there was a Vesti-Lump! It was Poppy, she'd never done it before - I just burst into tears and cried for about half an hour, had to pull the covers off poor Poppy as it was upsetting me too much, I ran downstairs and grabbed Vestis urn and hugged it and sobbed :(

Maybe it was Vesti sending a message through Poppy to let you know he is fine?

Aww sweetie

That's exactly what I thought :)

Poppy has changed recently and wants more hugs like Vesti always wanted.
-
maybe she feels she can get closer to you now vesti isn't around, our Star has taken to running to get on oh's lap whenever Amber leaves it vacant (not often) so after being with us nearly three years has become a lap cat
-
Probably as Vesti always slept on our bed and Poppy never use too, now I wake with Poppy resting on my feet

Its strange but I've found that often happens. I've only ever had 2 cats at the same time but but when one has gone to the bridge the remaining one has developed some of the personality traits of the bridge baby.

This could be Poppy trying to comfort you for your loss of Sofa and Vesti and also her seeking reassurance

awwww,

Funny thing here is that it's Mosi who does a lot of the same things as Magpie used to do. He sleeps in the same places (some of them rather odd) and has many of the same mannerisms. It's like he's a slightly manic version of Magpie. Magpie on speed!

Our other two, George and Magnus have been much more affectionate since Edward died last month.
George is sleeping in Ed's bed, and following me to bed at night for cuddles (it was always Ed that did that). And he's sitting next to me on the sofa, with his front paws on my knee - again, that was always Ed's thing. He's claimed Edward's basket too.
Magnus has started wanting hugs and headbumps, and even let me pick him up the other day (which has never happened before).
Meanwhile, I burst into tears & sobbed in Sainsbury's the other day, because the cat on the Go-Cat box looks just like Edward...

I hope you manage to move into a time when incidents like this bring joy rather than sadness.
There are flashes of Sam and Nike in Flynn, and Mini occasionally reminds me of Liqui. Our beloved cats live on in our memories.

It used to upset me when I saw one of the other cats doing something that I specifically classed as a "Toby or Parsley" trait. It does get easier, to deal with, honestly. You never stop missing the ones you've lost but reminders get a little less painful.
