My old girls meow seems to have depleted in volume! Can cats lose their "voice?"
-
Sorry dont know but it maybe worth talking to your vet about this. My elderly cat got louder not quieter as she started to go deaf.

Spoke too soon! She was obviously just relaxing her vocal muscles to make sure she had lots of ammo for 4am!

The old charmer's decided weeks ago THE best time to make the most noise is when everything else in the house is asleep! Love her anyway, though!

My cat is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo vocal. Except at night when he is still vocal but all his meow's become silent. He makes the motion and mouth movements but no sound. It's strange but cute. It's like his friendly, goodnight, I love you meows.

Samantha has the strange habit of taking food from her dish and howling - an odd muffled yowl - until she's eaten. I think she's trying to convince me she chased it round the kitchen, stalked and killed it!
