Well we have been getting busier and busier with homing enquiries and although our team of home visitors are fantastic, we need a few more. If any of you live in Surrey area or just outside (Croydon area or west side of Kent for instance) then I would love to hear from you if you would like to become a home visitor. Full training going and you are welcome to give as much or as llittle time as you want. Even if you were to only do one visit a month, you would be helping a lot.

What training do you do as a matter of interest? Not sure if i sent you our branch Homechecking manual or not.. But perhaps you have some other ideas as well. I currently have 12 home visitors and its taken me 3 yrs to get that many and all are great, but its jolly hard work getting these lovely people trained up and on board.. Good luck

Yes you did send it to me, thanks Sharon. We currently have 5 who are all very experienced and another who we are currently training another volunteer.
In terms of training, I have some paper-based information which we give. One of which is an adapted version of what you gave and also a shortened checklist of thigs to discuss on a home visit. We also ensure that the new home visitor goes on a couple of home visits wth an experienced volunteer so they can see how it works. They do as many of these as needed and then when they are ready, they can do one themselves with an experienced home visitor to act as a support if needed. Then, once they are ready they can get started independently.

Arrr similar to us then.. I wouldnt mind a copy of your checklist if you dont mind! Glad my blurb helped as well. Not alot of point reinventing the wheel is there.?
