Title: Hi

Hi. New to site, so only just realised there is a FIV section on the site - i've been talking about Jack in general chat (newly adopted 10-13, neutered male) might have FIV - after next week he will have only 1 tooth (front fang); as well as his FIV test
Got some great advice already - i'm hopefully going to get a proper lab test (as oppossed to an 'in-vet' check) - his gums have ulcers, so this might be a big problem if he's FIV+. I'm getting a bit paranoid - every cough, sneeze, small cut under his eye etc.......
Anyway i'll keep you posted, thanks. Here's some pics of my toothless pal.  :wow:

Hi James and Jack  :)

Has Jack already been tested for FIV? I take from your post that he may of had an in-house test, which can be a false pos sometimes you know, there is a percentage, others may know.

Anyways would just like to say, if Jack is not badly ill with FIV, he could have many more years to come if managed properly. Some members here have FIV cats which are well into their teens.  ;D

I also have a cat with mouth problems, its a severe gingivitis, he has had most of his teeth removed, although he does not have FIV. So hopefully Jack does not have FIV but  going on what I hear here, FIV is really nothing to worry about  :)
