Hello All
I got home yesterday & Leo had been sick, thought it was just a hair ball. Then from 5am this morning he had diarrhea which contained a little blood mixed in with a bit of clear fluid (sorry to be so graphic). He has also had diarrhea this eve (but no blood), on & off. Will call the vet 1st thing just to get it checked out, but in the meantime am I best off not giving him any food?
Thank you

If you feel he wants something to eat, the best thing is something bland, liked boiled chicken and rice or white fish. I can't see it would do any harm to starve him for the evening if you can get him in the Vet tomorrow morning but the bland diet may be worth a try to see if it clears the diarrhoea up first. Could he have eaten anything he shouldn't have while you have been out?

i agree. 24 hours of small, regular meals of plain chicken is usually enough to clear up a dicky tum. personally i'd wait before making a vet appt ;)
-
Thank You ;)

My Vet always says to stave for the first 24hrs and then feed bland food until it has cleared up.
-
Erm .....p.s
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN YOUNG LADY ???????????????????????????????????????????
-
Well I called mum & she said thats what she used to do to me & my sister when we were younger & had a dickie tummy! :evillaugh:
I very rarely get time really to be honest , I used to be on allot while at work but its all been banned !..(although I managed to hack onto Purrs this arvo - has never tried before!) I sell allot of stuff on ebay & that takes up allot of time whilst im not entertaining Master Leo! :evillaugh:

A-HA! I was thinking of you the other day. Is Leo still being a sod about grooming? If he is, have a look at the thread I started about the Furminator:
http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,21338.0.html
I was put on to a really great grooming tool (not Furminator). I have used it twice and by the end of the second time, Dot was just lying there, totally unrestrained, enjoying her pampering session. It was while I was grooming her that I thought about you and Leo - read the thread and see what you think.

Bless you Catbird!
Leo still fights me when it comes to grooming.. I trim the hair around his back legs now as that doesnt bother him at all.. he's a strange one!
I do actually have a furminator.. I must say they are good..& he doesnt mind it half as much..
Thanks for the info hon :)

Prokolin? If so, I give this to Dot when she's skwittery and it does seem to help. If I catch things early enough it will stop it dead.

Well, I hope you get on OK with it. It really seems to help Dot. You can buy it on line much cheaper than at the vets. I get mine from vetscriptions.co.uk - that's run as a sideline from a vets surgery in Paddington. I have even been lucky enough to get some free advice from a very nice vet there.
Hope it works for you and Leo - skwitters in a long-haired cat ain't fun (Dot always manages to drag her tail through hers  )

I got it from Vet UK, it was only about £6 if I remember rightly?
It certainly isn't fun!..
I wasn't smiling in the early hours, half asleep, Trying to catch Leo before he sprinted around the flat with it going everywhere  & he is too quick for me at the best of times!! Bless his heart! :Luv2: His tail hair is actually longer than mine & I have a bob to my chin....You can imagine!
