Title: The best birthday present EVER!!!! Pics added - Vids now added too!

Well microchips work and the PDSA are thorough!

Chilli has been found!!!!!!!!! A lady has been fedding her for a month, took her to be vaccinated, they scanned her and found out she is chipped and loved!! Going to get her at lunch!!!

Well I have just taken her home and she is most unimpressed. Spitting and hissing away but she's home. I may go home to a punctured Dave though  :-:

Shipping will be an £300 for her. It's money I don't have at this point but should get a bit of a tax rebate when I leave so hopefully that will help towards it.

Just can't believe she's back.

Oh and I have a fosterer now, we had a meet with Dave and her cat a couple of weeks ago so just have to break it to her there is now one more  :shy:

Dave seems non-plussed, more terrified of this wailing, hissing, swiping banshee I dumped on him at lunch  :-[

Nope, literally about 20 meters away! But she didn't start showing up there till about a month ago and the flyers and posters I did were in October so by the time she got to that lady it would have been long gone from her mind.

I don't want to be the one to spoil the party but while I'm happy for you I can't help feeling sorry for the lady who has been feeding Chilli.  She had taken her for vaccination so clearly is a responsible person who was intrending giving her a home - she must be gutted  :(

The nurse in the vet said that the lady was sad but very happy that she had been returned. She had literally only just decided to keep her. I am a bit sad for her and if Chilli really struggles to settle down again and I had to make the hard decision to think about giving her up that lady would probably be my first port of call. I am definitely going to do all I can to make Chilli at home again.

As sad as that lady is I've loved Chilli since she was a kitten, nearly two years, that lady had her for a few weeks.

Maybe the lady who looked after her could be pointed in the direction of Purrs rehoming section?? She sounds like she could offer some lucky puss a wonderful forever home. ;)

Well Chilli is still voicing her opinion of grumpiness with every movement anyone makes but it is done wit ears forward and no puffy tail so just a general air of grumpiness which I think is good? She has also eaten and allowed Dave to eat her leftovers so can't be too stressed. I got a little stroke of her head and managed to give her a treat stick but mostly I am just leaving her to get on with it but chatting away to her and not giving Dave too much attention.

I think we may be okay yet.

Poor Dave, you can see, just wants nothign more than for Chilli to be his friend and love him  :Luv2: He's such a little hippy.

Well it was quite a peaceful night, took my life in my hands going to the loo though as had to walk past her growling and hissing on her perch in the dark! Otherwise she just had a moan when Dave walked too close to the perch.

She had breakfast, again grumbling away. On the plus side she had a bit of a wander this morning (trying to get out I think but at least she moved).

Dave just makes my heart melt though, he is such a good boy, not too bothered by the hissing swiping banshee and has even had a couple of runs and jumps up to her, I think trying to get her to play :Luv:

I have ordered refills for my Feliway diffuser and some Zylkene from VetUK today. Want to do all I can to help her settle again. The fosterers are also totally fine about having one more and have said that if it comes to it they will just put them in separate rooms when they are at work as they have a lovely big flat so can well accomodate grumpy kitties!

I have always thought she was a ridiculously pretty cat, she's fuller in the face than when she went missing but one of the first things I said when I picked her up was I'd sort of forgotten just how beautiful she is. Everyone comments on her.

I think Dave is a teeny bit miffed that his attention quota is a bit lower than it was  :shy:

BC, I think you are completely spot on, exactly what I was saying at work today, she can't be completely miserable and distressed as she is eating and turning her back on us and sleeping and cleaning and stretching. She's just establishing the hierarchy in the house again and making sure we all know our place, whcih is at the bottom of the chain after her ladyship, a place both Dave and I are happy to be  :Luv2:

We have made some huge progress this evening, I really thought it would take a bit longer but Chilli has just let me give her a full head and chin rub, no hissing or growling. I did a little victory dance afterwards  :evillaugh:

Well they have been going at it great guns this morning and I thought it was Chilli provoking Dave but after getting up and seeing for myself it is Dave who is provoking her! He keeps trying to play with her tail and chasing her round the flight, she is not happy about it, the noises she is making is horrendous but it seems it is just that, all noise. There doesn't seem to be any claws out or teeth bared and Dave remains completely silent throughout. I think he has his own plan to get Chilli to settle in! it would appear she is beginning to tolerate him a lot more and is even being nicer to me.

They have completely broken the perch off the scratching post this morning so she's not really got anywhere she can peer down on us from, again, maybe no bad thing.

Do you know, in my excitement I completely forgot to ask if I could have her details or my details passed onto her. I could do a little leaflet drop as I think I'd like to get her a bottle of wine or some flowers as a thank-you. I know where she lives and it's only a small cul-de-sac so wouldn't be hard. Then I could lure her into the murky world of the purrs rehoming section  :evillaugh:

I only ask because I have a friend in London in a sticky situation with a cat she has rehomed as a buddy for her current cat - unfortunately the newbie is not settlling and her current cat is now loosing his hair with the stress a sad situation but all the rescues are full and she really has tried everything

Someone has been into my flat while I was at work and cast a spell  :shify:

Chilli no longer makes a peep when I touch her, no purrs yet but happy eyes and I am allowed to properly stroke her. Dave is allowed to get to about half a metre before he gets a warning growl. They even had a little play in the tunnell  ;D

It would seem the chucking them back together and letting them get on with it approach is paying off massively. Dave's approach of annoying her till she gives in is also paying off  :evillaugh: He really isn't giving her any peace at all, someone must have told him about that flooding technique for phobias  :evillaugh:

She is still grumbling quite regularly but it seems to be far less serious and more just for the sake of it now. Carry on like this and they'll be cuddling by the end of the week.

I really couldn't be a happier Meowmy right now!

Here are a couple of videos of Dave and Chilli playing in the tunnell earlier, they are now crashed out, Dave on the sofa next to me and Chilli on what remains of the scratching post which is right next to the side of the sofa Dave is asleep on  :Luv:

Well it feels like we are making a weeks worth of progress every day now! Today they are taking it in turns to jump on each other, still a little aggressive and Chilli still grumbling but it is definitely friendlier than it was. At one point earlier Dave was lying on the floor and Chilli went up to him and kind of stuck her face in his fur on his side, was very cute to watch and not entirely sure why she did it, they're not at the cuddling stage just yet ;)

She's still not forgiven me I think, I'm allowed to stroke her but only on her head and she will not show nay signs of pleasure whatsoever. Doesn't stop me trying though and I am constantly talking to her and telling what pretty little lady she is  :Luv:
