We've just had a young cat arrive with us tonight who is in a bad way so can you please send her some positive vibes.
The little one is a gorgeous little girl in poor condition and suffering from dehydration and some form of injury to her hind quarters. Have just checked in with the vet and have given her some Metacam to help with the pain and am getting fluids into her to try to stabilise her prior to getting her in for x-rays and or possible splinting of the leg which she appears to have damaged somehow. No open wounds so could be from a strike of some sorts.
We'll keep monitoring her through the night with fluids and keep fingers crossed she is fairing better in the morning.
-
I do hope she will be ok
:censored:would do to the nasty folks that hurt her
Good luck with the monitoring - what with the winds tonight perhaps she can be called Storm
-
Poor little darling ,i know what i would like to do with the :censored: who did this. >:( I do hope she responds to treatment and recovers enough to go to the vet. sending lots of healing vibes for her recovery
-
Poor little thing. Hope she has a good night and good luck with the x-rays.
-
Wishing her well, come on sweetheart, we love and care for you.
:wish:
-
Poor baby, hope the fluids and metacam help, and that the vet visit goes well
-
Sending the little one lots of healing vibes, hope she starts to recover soon. I like the name Storm good idea Liz :)
-
Do her claws look shredded, suggesting a road traffic accident?
Please giver her a gentle fuss from me. :Luv:
-
Sending lots of love and get well soon vibes
-
hi guys,
Storm does sound like a good name actually and she suits it being a torbie! :Luv2:
She has taken on some fluids voluntarily which is good and have mixed in with the likes of Tuna etc to make sure she has a bit of variety. The downfall is we have to stay with her or else she stops even though she is clearly very hungry. But her dehydration is improving and that is the main thing. Earlier a pinch wasn't bouncing back at all... at least now it is slowly edging back... but its improvement! ;) Although she is adament she is staying in the litter box and not coming out for anyone.... but then its really not uncommon for us to see this in cats that are unwell / injured.
Her rear left side is affected and is sticking out at any angle at the knee so could be the top of the leg / hip /pelvis I suppose. Bit hard to describe to be honest. She is comfortable for now but is obviously very sore too and not putting any weight through that leg. There are no other obvious injuries or at the claws madas.... but in honesty if it was a car I think its been a glancing blow to her hind quarters although I'm not 100% convinced that it necessarily happened today... but obviously the vet will know better hopefully and our job for now is to stabilise her.
me and OH will be taking it in turns through the night to check on her and hopefully in the morning we can get her into the vet to see exactly what is going on. I've to phone the vet in the morning to inform him of her progress before doing anything just to ensure she is stable enough to cope with the journey and the treatment. if need be we will be able to make arrangements to have her put on a IV tomorrow but I'm hoping that won't be necessary and she will help herself tonight with fluids.
I have passed along all the wishes and fusses and little Storm says thank you
-
Im so glad to hear she is taking some fluid and a little bit of food, poor darling must be so scared :Luv: but at least shes in good hands now, fingers crossed shes okay to go to the vets tomorrow
-
Sending positive vibes for little Storm, poor little girl. If she was involve in RTA today she might still be in shock.
Finger crossed for her.
-
The poor littl mite. I hope she's ok.
-
hi guys,
just to let you know that little Storm had an OK night and took in a good amount of fluids for us so her hydration levels are a lot better this morning. ;) Will be putting a call into the vet very shortly hopefully to arrange getting her x-rayed, and go from there. :scared:
Poor wee mite is very very sore this morning and seems to have difficulty standing.
Will report more as soon as I know fingers and paws crossed here for her :um: :wish:
-
Im so glad she has taken the fluids overnight and fingers crossed that the vets can help her poor little mite im praying he can as she deserves it after the trauma shes been through, sending some healing vibes hoping they help as well
-
on way to the vets now and will report more when we get back! fingers crossed! :scared:
-
poor kitty :(
sendng best wshes to Storm, hope all goes well at vets
-
thats us back from the vets where we've had to leave little Storm for now.
She is in a lot of pain and vet wants to keep her in and on stronger pain meds and keep an eye on how she does overnight continuing to get fluids into her.
Plan is sedate her tomorrow morning for a full x-ray to see the extent of the damage which may or may not be a dislocation and go from there. We are to call in around lunchtime tomorrow to get the results and see where we go from here.
we have all fingers and paws crossed here for her. Its so horrible to see her in so much pain but we are doing what we can for her and just have to hope that tomorrow brings an optimistic outcome! :scared:
-
Fingers crossed for her, at least she is with you now, and will get the best care.
-
I hope Storm keeps improving and all is well tomorrow
Our Storm all 5lbs wet through of bengal feralness is sending get well vibes for her namesake :Luv2:
-
fingers crossed she is well enough tomorrow to have the x-rays and that something can be done to help her,she is so lucky to have found you as she will now get the best of care :Luv: hopefully now she is on stronger medication she will settle and not be so stressed by all this poor little thing :Luv2: and we all hope for an optimistic outcome for her
-
Finger crossed for little Storm, she is very lucky to have found you.
Sending lots more positive vibes for her.
-
Currently nursing a stray lad that came in just before New Year. He was minus claws and scuffing to the rest. He held his leg at a strange angle as well and it transpires that he has ruptured his cruciates on his right knee, so is seeing a speciailist tomorrow for possible reconstruction. Both me and the vey missed it intially as we were dealing with his dehydration, starvation, corneal ulcers and all over naff condition. Touch and go, but we are getting there.
Called him Nicko as we got to him in the Nick o' time. So good vibes from Nick, me and the rest of the feline troops. :Luv2:
-
Hope Nicko goes on okay at the vets tomorrow and that they can help him :Luv: is it me or does there seem to be a glut of injured cats and kittens at the moment ????
-
Hope Nicko goes on okay at the vets tomorrow and that they can help him :Luv: is it me or does there seem to be a glut of injured cats and kittens at the moment ????
Well in the month of December I took in three cats that were in a dreadful state one way or another. Does not seem a lot, but normally may only take in this amount of poorly pusses in a year! All three of these were due to peoples ignorance and ignoring the poor cats plight!
-
It makes me wonder if people are just plain ignorant or once the novelty,s worn off they just dont care what becomes of them >:( and leave them for someone else to pick up the pieces
-
It is a combo of ignorance and a selfish attitude. People do not seem to realise that cats have feelings. Nicko had been in someones garden for weeks, but the bloke does not like cats so he and his neighbours all who had seen him around ignored his plight and quite happily let him starve. He only called us in, because the cat had stopped moving and he was worried about a corpse on his hands! :censored:
-
Beggers belief that someone could watch an animal in obvious pain and difficulties suffer :censored: i will never understand the human race, we are supposed to be a nation of animal lovers, dont know where they get that from >:(
-
We had a similar end to last year, with strays in bad condition, and again, it was unusual for us to have so many in one go. Fingers crossed for all the poorly rescue cats.
-
I do so hope she pulls through.
:wish:
-
How is Storm today?
-
Sending positive vibes for Storm. Hope she can be sorted out and on the road to recovery very soon.
-
Thinking of Storm this morning and sending positive vibes that she had a good night and that they came help her today
-
we've had no news yet so are working on the theory of no news is good news!!!!
I've to call in at lunchtime and see what the results are of the xrays and how she is doing so we're currently clock watching and hoping that we will be able to know where to go from here. :wish:
-
Fingers crossed for good news
-
All fingers and Paws crossed for Storm here at the Clan Cats and a little  from our Storm to yours
-
thanks guys!
Well, I finally managed to get through to the vets. Oor wee Storm it would seem in the vets opinion has received her injuries as a result of an RTA! :'(
They took the option to knock her out this morning as she was in a lot of pain with her leg and to ensure that she was as relaxed as possible to enable manipulation of the leg. Result of the first x-ray is that her left hip was most definately dislocated. :( On examining her fully whilst under they also discovered another open wound which has led them to believe that the cat is most likely an RTA case. :( >:(
Post manipulation x-rays however have shown that although they have managed to get the hip back into place it is not stable and keeps wanting to 'pop' out. So they want to keep her in and monitor her leg today and overnight with a view to assessing her in the morning.
The likely outcome at the moment is that she will require surgery of some description to put the hip back in place but a decision regarding this and the options ahead will be made in the morning after giving her 24 hours rest.
She is eating and they seem generally happy with her although have said she is still in a lot of pain and she is continung on her strong pain killers.
So will just have to keep all fingers and toes crossed that after all she has been through already that she does not have to go through surgery as well although I have a feeling (from what they are saying) that it is already a given!
:(
-
Poor little soul. She must've been in a lot of pain. Let's hope the outcome will be a positive one, whichever route has to be chosen re surgery etc.
-
poor baby, hope she makes a quick recovery.
-
Poor little storm :Luv: she must have been in considerable pain, lets hope that the outcome is bright for her and she makes a complete recovery
-
hopefully. :wish:
I have just got off the phone from the local radio station. Storm is such a little sweetie and I just feel that after all she has been through we should make that extra effort to see if we can find her owners. Granted they may or may not want to know but at least we will have tried.
It is hoped that a message will go out on the radio this afternoon to see if we can trace her owners that way.
I suppose we can but try!?!?!? and well if they don't want to know then fine, we'll just have them sign her over to us.
-
Unless they are really genuine cat lovers i dont suppose they will come forward knowing they will probably have a large vets bill to contend with,in which case little Storm will be better off without them, :Luv:
-
true, but then if it was me I'd want to know and suppose we can't tar everyone with the same brush!
-
I hope for little Storms sake they are genuine and that they do call ,and yes i agree but im afraid i dont have much faith in the human race as it is nowadays, this throwaway society we have created
-
and well if they don't want to know then fine, we'll just have them sign her over to us.
Poor little baby. Hopefully the owners won't expect you to foot the bill and still have her back. I know it isn't unheard of.
-
Just come across your posts and wanted to add my good wishes and (very gentle) to Storm, from me and my poor wee 'xyz' (as yet unnamed!)who is so stressed out at leaving the rescue shelter yesterday, that he hasn't eaten/drunk/pee'ed or poo'ed yet! At least I know he's not in physical pain like Storm - but it breaks my heart to know that he doesn't feel safe here.......
Anyway, back to poor Storm - I do hope that, whatever the outcome at the vet's, he makes a full and complete (same thing?!) recovery very soon. I also hope you're not left to foot the bill........
-
you're not alone in the disappointment in general with the human race... I'm with you loud and clear. But this afternoon I sat and thought about it and knew I would be devestated if one of my little one's was going through something like this and knew that I would want to know. At the end of the day we're not silly and we know the tricks that people play but on the off chance that it is someone genuine I felt it was worth the effort for such a little darling.
The bulletin went out with the afternoon news on the radio and if we hear nothing back then so be it but at least I know that we tried and to me, that's what matters :)
Just a waiting game til morning now to see how she's faired over night! :wish:
-
If no response then you can rest in the knowledge that you tried your best  i do so hope that little Storm is able to be helped and then to find a lovely new home, after all she has been through she deserves it :Luv: :Luv:
-
Is there any news on Storm this morning?
-
not yet  I called a little while ago but the nurse and vets are all busy so said I would call back at lunchtime when things are a bit queiter.
could only speak to the receptionist who didn't know what the current situation was with her.
I did get a call last night from the young couple who brought her in who have been going door to door to see if they can find the owners but to no avail so far. They have called every day since she arrived and I really felt for the girl who was so upset at seeing wee storm in so much pain. (we're convinced that they are definately not the owners... as that's usually my first suspicion) ;)
Although it did raise one point when telling her about the announcement yesterday in that perhaps if the person who hit her heard the news then hopefully they have a conscious and thus feel like crap about injuring her..... well we can but hope I suppose!!!! :sneaky:
will update as soon as I know more.
-
next update folks! :-:
Spoke to the vet dealing with her case and she is comfortable for now but the hip does not want to stay in place :(
So, they want to keep her in under close supervision for the rest of the week with a view to keeping her in until at least the weekend so that they can keep her confined to a small pen area and limit the possibility of the hip popping out again. They don't want to risk further damage to the hip by moving her un-necessarily either and to that we obviously agree especially if it would risk damage / disjointing the hip again. It also means that they can monitor her pain levels and give her stronger meds as required.
It is still very likely that this little one will need surgery and the vet said that if things don't improve towards the end of the week that they would be looking to knock a chunk off the top of the femur to get it to set in place again as they had a very hard job getting the hip back into place and it does not want to stay there. He even commented that she is a lovely little cat and I'm sure she is getting lots of attention and cuddles from the nurses.
We've to check in each day to see how she is doing and have to play things by ear really. Hopefully she won't need the surgery but I got the impression from the vet that it pretty likely she will.
So all we can do is keep our fingers and paws crossed. She is in the best of hands for now and all we can do is wait until she is stable enough to be returned to us.
-
At least she is in safe hands as they sound as they treat not only the injury but also the cat, so many now adays forget that its a living creature, and if she does need the surgery at least it gives her a fighting chance to recover and go on to hopefully lead a good life with people who will love her  sending lots of healing and calming vibes for Storm :Luv: :Luv:
-
thanks hun, yes our vets are brilliant so many nowadays just think of the money at the end of it and forget about the animal suffering. we are so lucky to have such good and supportive vets.
-
Sending Storm more love and best wishes.
:wish:
-
really hope the wee one gets better.
I agree with you about the radio announcement - we lost one of ours after an RTA a few years ago, and I was so, so grateful that the neighbours who found him managed to find us before he died.
-
Topping up the love and get well vibes for this little lass.
-
Sounds a great vet, lots of positive thoughts for this little one xx
-
Hope Storm had a good night with not to much pain and discomfort, :Luv2: sending her lots of healing vibes
-
thanks guys, will be checking in with the vet this afternoon to see how she is doing.
-
Give this little lady lots of hugs from me here - sending vibes to heal those little bones of hers - that we all love xxxx
-
Topping up some more get well soon vibes for Storm  :Luv:
-
Called the vets a little while ago and and she is feeling more comfortable today. :) They say she is being very sweet and affectionate and giving lots of purrs when receiving attention. They did have to give her quite a lot of pain meds yesterday but so far today she seems to be coping better with a smaller dose however it does seem dictated by how much she moves around.
They are still limiting her movement as much as possible but it is simply a waiting game for the next few days to see if the hip will eventually take and stay in place which they have their fingers crossed it does so she doesn't have to go through the trauma of surgery too! bless her. :Luv2:
All we can do is hope that the next few days go well for Storm and her hip. I'll be checking in with them again tomorrow to see how things are and will update you all.
-
So pleased to hear they've managed to elicit a pleasurable purr. :) Lots more positive vibes sent her way. Come on Storm!
-
Best wishes for Storm
-
So glad little Storm seems to be doing well and all fingers and paws crossed here for the little star - just wait till the painkillers wear off bet she will be a feisty little poppet!
-
I am so glad little Storm feeling better and more comfortable, bless her.
-
Lovely to hear she's doing well!
-
Do we have any update on Storms progress>? how is she doing today, fingers crossed that she had a calm and mostly painfree night, sending lots of positive and calming vibes for her
-
Love, huggles and lots of healing vibes for little Storm xxxx
-
hi guys, not much to report today as I only got a chance to call into the vets at 5pm so couldn't speak to the nurse!
But the girls say that she seems to be doing OK today and has been trying to put a little weight on the leg. Other than that I don't have any details today about pain levels, hip stability etc.
Will check in tomorrow lunchtime to have a word with the nurse and get a better idea of what is happening. According to the girls at the desk, for now, it looks like the vet would like her to stay til at least Monday but should find out more specific details tomorrow.
fingers and toes crossed its starting to knit together! :wish:
-
Knit, knit, knit, little hip. :wish: :ok:
-
Time for todays update! :)
On speaking to the vet today they seem to be fairly pleased with her progress. She is hobbling around and seems to be trying to put weight through the damaged hip, which is a good sign. They can't tell 100% whether or not it is staying in well or forming a false joint without knocking her out and x-raying the hip but they really don't want to do that to her again so soon.
So, plan of action for now is to continue to monitor over the next couple of weeks with a view to x-raying again then to see what is going on. Vet wants to make 100% sure that there is no other option but the surgery prior to doing it as he really doesn't want to put her through another ordeal unless he really has to. :shy: As he rightly says all we have to lose is 2 weeks and we can't put the top of the femur back once its off!!! ;)
He has had her walk through the surgery today to monitor her walking and from what he said there is signs of improvement in terms of her at least trying to put weight through that leg. She is currently residing in one of the kennels at the surgery and on checking whether they wanted us to collect her or leave her be I got a firm, no, leave her the weekend! lol somehow I think she's got them eating out of her wee paw but she is such a sweetie :Luv2:
I don't think there will be much change over the next few days / week but we will just have to keep checking in to see how she is. Hopefully on checking in on Monday we will have a better idea as to whether they are comfortable with her being moved back here or whether they want to leave her where she is until the end of the week.
-
Thats brilliant news, hopefully she may not need surgery, fingers crossed she continues to progress like she is :Luv: and from the sound of it she has wrapped them round her little paw, you do realise you may not get her back dont you ;) ;)
-
So pleased this little one seems to have stabilised and is healing, hope she continues to make progress and won't need the surgery. :wish:
from the sound of it she has wrapped them round her little paw, you do realise you may not get her back dont you ;) ;)
I wonder too if a vet/nurse has become smitten and and will consider homing her!
-
Fingers crossed for her, at least it is looking promising for no surgery
-
well anything's possible I suppose! lol although I have a funny feeling she will come back to us. Our vets I am very proud to say are far more about the animal and what is best for them so if they say its best for them to stay, then so be it! :)
For me, so long as she is comfortable and its the best thing for her then I don't mind whether she is there or here to be honest. I totally understand their point of view about moving her and I know I would feel very guilty if we moved her and she fell the wrong way in the cat box and knocked the hip back out again. So, as long as they are happy to care for her and she is happy in herself then that's the main thing for now.
-
Your vets sound brilliant ,like the old ones used to be, animals first money afterwards, after my experiences with vets (Meg and Ninja) i find it very hard to trust any now >:( i think i will have to relocate and come to yours ;)anyway im glad Storm seems to be stabalising and look forward to the next update on her progress
-
So pleased she is doing well and sounds in very good hands :)
-
So pleased she is doing well and sounds in very good hands :)
Me too. x
-
Quick update today guys having just checked in with the vets.
General opinon is that the hip is not staying in :( and has definately come out but that Storm seems to be adapting to using the leg a little to hobble around.
At the moment only time with tell as to whether it will form a false joint. Leaving things with the vet for now to decide how we best proceed from here as to whether to x-ray again and whether or not she is to be transferred back here for monitoring while we give her time to heal and decide what the future holds for the little one.
-
Oh dear thats not good news but if she is adapting to this maybe time and rest will help this false joint to materialise and save her having to have the op, but if it does form is there a risk it could go again at a later date ? and if it does what are her options then will they still be able to operate?
-
Ouch, poor little one. Sounds like the vets are really doing their best to consider the options.
-
Just caught up with this thread and will include Storm in my prayers. You are a pair of fighters and I would be exactly the same.
Praying for as perfect a recovery as possible.
-
Poor little lass. It sounds as if your vets will do what's best for Storm regardless, and that has to be some comfort. Let's hope that if she does need the op, it'll be 100% successful.
-
fingers crossed for her, whatever the vet says is the best thing to do
-
well, little miss storm has come home with us today! :)
She is currently resting peacefully, has eaten and getting settled into her old pen again. :Luv2:
Decision was made today to give Storm 4 weeks of recuperation to see how she fares and then re-assess the situation of the hip. Vets hope is that it will form a false joint, which she should manage with fine although in old age would be prone to arthritis. Alternatively we are looking at the surgery.
In summary we are in no rush to force Storm into any form of outcome simply because its 'easier' so we have all decided the best thing to do is to give her time and see how she manages on strict cage rest for the next 4 weeks. At that time we can make a decision regarding the best route for her.
It is obvious on looking at her that the hip 'is not right' but she is trying to use the leg and is putting a little weight through it at present although it is obviously still bothering her.
We are letting her settle for now but will try and get some piccies of the little one later on tonight for you all. Her general condition has improved greatly since she arrived and she is showing how simply gorgeous she really is :Luv2:
-
:wow: So pleased she's been allowed home. Sometimes, giving a cat time to recover and to heal can work miracles. Would be so nice to have some piccies of Storm. :Luv:
-
here you go guys a little piccie to keep you going for now! :) isn't she gorgeous? :Luv2: and her nature is fantastic too.
I've only taken the 1 piccie for now as every time you go near the pen she is adamant she is coming over for big cuddles so makes it very difficult to photograph her at the same time!!!
She is doing well and settling back into her pen brilliantly. As soon as she could smell the familiar scent from her bedding she settled down for a kip right away, well not after ensuring she received plenty of cuddles and affection first!!! :Luv2:
-
She's a lovely girl - so glad she is on the mend. Hopefully some lucky people will be taking her home soon :Luv2:
-
She is gorgeous Sarah, such a lovely face. Glad she is back home and hoping that the rest does the necessary and helps her leg.
-
I always said i would stop at 8 but that little face :Luv: she is just so adorable, you feel as tho you could just scoop her up and love her.Im glad she is back with you and look forward to updates on her progress :Luv:
-
Aww bless her :Luv: She looks so sweet.
-
her picture certainly speaks a thousand words as she really is very sweet. My OH is already smitten with her.
Although we just noticed that if you look at the picture I posted closely you can actually see the distortion in the hip area where the hip is 'out'
she still has a long way to go by any means but at least for now she is safe and by the sounds of her purrs she is content and happy to be back in her little space at the 'harbour' :)
-
She is just gorgeous :Luv2: and yes I can see the hip poor girl what she has been through please give her a gentle cuddle from me xx
-
Stunning. :) Glad she's getting better.
-
She is lovely, fingers crossed the cage rest works for her.
-
Oh, Lord bless her - she's a little beauty. And what strength of character. Sending a special Paddy PPPPprrfffppTT just for Storm. ;D
-
She's such a pretty girl :Luv2: Glad she's back with you, agree that the home environment will surely help her, and fingers crossed that her hip settles without the need to operate :Luv:
-
:catlove:
AWWWWWWWWW look at that lil face!!!!
Shes a dear little thing. :wow:
-
she is gorgeous isn't she? :Luv2:
She is currently enjoying the luxury of a brand new cat bed that was very kindly brought in yesterday. Enjoying it so much in fact that she hardly comes out of it other than to use her litter box!!! wee tike.
Her nature is truly fantastic and I think whoever ends up taking her home with them is a very lucky person indeed.
No real change in the leg thus far an she continues to try to put some weight through it which I take as a good sign however she does have a big of a problem swinging it round to lay down. But she is managing very well and it certainly isn't affecting her appetite for food or cuddles! lol
-
awwww, :Luv2:
-
Sarah Miss Storm is a beautidul lady and if we werecloser she could have her R & R here, I so miss fostering and its a shame as Hubby's company pay us an hourly rate for fostering!
I will dig out a piccie our Storm one where she is acting like a lady not a floozy!!!!!
-
aww thanks Liz... and yes it is a shame we're just slightly too far apart isn't it!
always the way! ;)
-
So pleased she seems to be making progress Sarah. :)
She really is a beautiful girl!
-
Just wondering how Storm :Luv: is going on, does she show any signs of improvement ?
-
hi guys,
much the same I'm afraid. from what we can see its definately still 'out' and most of the time she is comfortable and it doesnt bother her too much although she is having the odd time where it is painful and causing her pain when she moves, letting out a lovely growl so we know, bless her :Luv2:
All we can do is sit and wait and see what happens over the next few weeks. :wish:
-
Sending lots of healing wishes...... :wish: :wish: :wish: :wish:
-
Strong positive vibes from me as well.
-
Our Storm is sending get well vibes from all here and hope that she does improve if not just more time on cage rest!
Our longest on cage rest to date is Puma - he cost £1500 + to rebuild at 14 months and had 11 weeks in a kitten pen his Daddy lined with perspex to stop his fixator castching on anything - have to say Robin took the large bill very well but was severely hacked off at the price of the perspex and the fact it was minus 7 when he was cutting the stuff to fit and bolting out the kitten pen!!!!
-
Just to say that Storm is still much the same, albeit her new bed has turned her into a right lazy bones as she loves it that much she never comes out of it.
Been busy with the camera this morning so here are some more piccies of the gorgeous storm for you all! :Luv2:

-
I dont know what it is but she tugs at the heartstrings :Luv: :Luv:
-
You're right Bonnielass, she does. She's gorgeous, bless her. ;D
-
She really is a babe :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Hi Sarah, how is little Storm doing? :Luv:
-
Hi Pav,
not updated thread as not had a lot to say really as she has been on cage rest for so long and just been content eating, sleeping and sleeping some more bless her :Luv2:
She is due in this week for a review with the vets at which time we will know how things stand for her. Certainly from what we can see the hip is still most definately out its just whether or not it has formed a false joint, of which I can't say I'm convinced it has but once she sees the vet we will know more.
will update as soon as we know more
-
Good luck with the vet.
-
Poor little lass. She's got such a lovely face.

an update!
Well it would seem that the hip is forming a false joint after all.... so the verdict being that if she can walk on it then why put her through the trauma of surgery and so are going to monitor her for another few weeks building on using the leg and see how it holds up. ;D
From a 'look' point of view those that know can obviously still see that it is 'out of place' however the only other obvious thing of note now that she is allowed to walk a little on it is the fact she has a really bad limp.
She is such a sweetie pie and certainly for the time being I would like to hold on to her for another few weeks to get her used to walking on the leg again a little at a time with a view to building up the muscle again in that leg after weeks of cage rest.
I do wonder though how easy she will be to find a home for bearing in mind her bad limp albeit from my point of view I would much rather an indoor home only as I don't think she will be able to jump too well.... but then... we never know how well she will adapt now that she can start to use the leg again. Either way it still needs time to form properly and muscle to strengthen and in the meantime we will just have to monitor her and decide whats best for her as we go along.
-
Awww, that is good news, and so pleased she's not going to have to go through an op just now :Luv2:
-
:Luv:
-
That sounds like really good news - maybe if she could find a predominantly indoor home but with access to a safe garden? ;D
-
in the long term yes definitely an option.
-
Just caught up with this again. Poor little Storm, she has been through the mill hasn't she. Glad she is on the mend Sarah. She certainly looks content to be with you :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Glad the vet thinks she can get away without an op
-
Hope that lovely girl will be ok without the op xx
-
wee update for you! :)
Stormy is doing grand and is such a little luv :Luv2:
The hip seems to be settling in place (albeit out of where it should be) and she has finally come out of cage rest. We are going to give her another few weeks to see how she gets on under 'normal use' and go from there.
On an 'up' note for Storm however we may have the perfect home lined up for her after a young couple came to visit and fell in love with her instantly before they even knew about her problems which didn't seem to phase them at all. So, fingers are crossed that things are starting to look up for ickle storm! :)

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
-
;D awww, that's great news fingers crossed she has her new home soon xx

-
yeah it will be great to finally see her go somewhere where she can be happy adn settled. she is doing really well so just keeping our fingers crossed all goes to plan for this wee star!
-
Thats wonderful news , ;)keeping everything crossed that this is her forever home with someone who cares
-
just a wee note to say that Storm is doing really well. We have built up her 'roaming' time a little each day and she is doing brililantly. Manages to walk around fine, albeit with a very bad limp. Anything faster than a walk is a problem for her at the mo... but its all a step in the right direction! :)
-
Im so happy she is progressing well ,but i think we need some more :pic: :waiting:
-
Well done little Storm, you sound a good team
-
Just got back from hols - what a nice start to the week! ;D Well done, Storm.
-
I'll get to work on some piccies for you all this avo! :)
-
hi guys... well I DID have some new piccies... but do you think I can find what I did with them????? lol
the original interest in Storm didn't come to fruition so we had to put her up for homing through normal channels. We have been inundated with interest in adopting her which I did find very strange but I think he looks more than anything are what really made people think wow! We are of course, being very careful in our placement of Storm as we want to make sure she gets the best possible match in her new home.
I will try (once again) to get some piccies today as I need to get piccies of Skye's babies too which are HUGE!!! and hopefully this time... not delete them or hide them from myself! lol
-
Great news about Storm :) best of luck finding a lovely home she deserves xx
-
Hi guys, just thought I'd drop you a quick note to let you know that we have found the perfect placement for Storm. :) even better is that she is only going a few streets away! :)
She will be going to her new home this afternoon where we are sure she will settle in quickly and make herself at home. I hope to get pics etc from the new owners and will be able to update you on how she is doing.
We will as always be keeping in touch with the new owners and will be on hand for support and advice as Storms leg continues to heal and strengthen over the next few months. We are so happy for storm who can finally get knee's of her own to cuddle into. :Luv2:
-
Great news for Miss Storm and you that someone has fallen head over heels with this poppet
Look forward to updates

Great that she has a local new home :)
If you ever delete pictures again, there is some free software that find deleted pictures as long as they haven't been written over. A few years ago at a friends wedding, I had been taking photos all day. At the reception OH wanted to take some and ended up deleting everything. I found this - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/smartrecovery.html and it worked! :)
-
thanks for that Mark... I have literally just found them whilst looking for something else.... they were on the other camera!!! doh!!! I was SO sure I'd taken them with the SLR and not the small camera... oh well!
Here are a couple of piccies of madam for you!

She looks full of mischief and im sure your title of Madam suits her but she is still rather gorgous :Luv: and i hope this new home is purrfect for her, well done
-
:Luv: :Luv2:
-
oh yes... madam suits her perfectly! lol bless her.
She was rather unsettled when we first got her to her new home and was very wary and clung to paul and I for reassurance. Bless her she even went over the cat box we tookher in... opened the door and climbed back in! lol Nothing that quite makes a statement than that! lol
After an hour though she had got herself up onto the sofa and settled on her new mummy's knee and we know we have definately made the right choice for her. We will of course be keeping an eye on her and making sure all stays well with the hip but she SO deserves this.
I got an email from the new 'parents' last night to say:
Just wanted to drop a quick note off to you to let you know Storm is settling in just fine. She's been exploring, playing and doing lots of cuddling. We have finally gotten her to drop off to sleep as she's been awake since she's been here. She really is a jem and a lil sweetheart. We'll keep you updated.
:Luv2: :Luv2:
