Title: And so it begins....
Post by: JackSpratt on January 14, 2009, 10:07:39 AM
...our local "freebike" site had a ban on putting animals on over Christmas, (big sigh of relief) but now we're into the first week of the New Year the ban has been lifted. In three days, there has been a dog and an 18 month old cat.  :(

The lady who posted the dog answered me really politely and said she just wasn't sure what other avenue to take. I gave her links to the "free to a good home" forum and dog pages.

I tried, I really did. I emailed them last yearand the end of 2007 repeatedly. So much so, that they eventually gave in and did a poll last year. Not enough people voted against it.... :tired: And that was after I emailed anyone I could think of that would join and vote!

I'm on three freecycle groups - am inbetween areas.

Of those only one has any ban whatsoever on animals (although it's a permanent one).

Sadly not. It took me about a year of nagging to get that one - and people just weren't bothered enough to vote against it. :( Feel free to try though, I can PM you the moderators email address. ;)

What makes me worried is that without this  'free to a good home' option these people might throw their animals out on the street. I bet some of them are capable of that...
