Title: How very frustrating - a local ginger cat
Post by: fluffybunny on December 22, 2008, 13:48:19 PM
It was our annual village ladies night at the pub on Fri, and after Geoffrey's little episode of going missing the other week (he's back now...asleep next to me as I type!), it was one of the main topics of conversation.  It's obviously got people thinking, as a number of people at the pub said that they've seen him this week...someone up the top of the lane said their outside light came on at 6am and he was in their garden, and my neighbour said she saw a ginger cat run across the road at 11.30 the other night.  Now I know that neither of these sightings were of my cat as he's in at those times, and indeed last week we too saw another ginger cat run down the side of our house.

Well today a note comes round from someone at the other end of the village saying they have only just moved in and theiir ginger cat is missing.  So I rang them up and they say he went missing over a week ago.  How frustrating - it seems that at least 3 of us have seen their kitty but didn't know it was missing...if I had known, because of where he was when I saw him, I could probably have caught him.  I think it just goes to show that putting leaflets round should be a first resort not a last one.

But instead the poor little kitty is still missing, although he is obviously still around the locality.  He is 14 so not a youngster either, I just hope he's going into someone's house and eating their cat food in the meantime!

I'm definitely going to be keeping my eyes peeled, he's obviously still around and it seems as if he's coming out after dark.

The thing is, he looks absolutely nothing like Geoffrey, but you know what it's like when you're told to look for a cat of any colour, the owners know the difference but virtually no-one else does  :evillaugh:

Maybe you should explaint to them why the cat should be kept in for a few weeks after a move!

Hope he is home in time for Christmas.
