Hi to all,
maybe someone of you knows a little more then me:
Goldy ( 10 years old ) has a problem:
He has herpes virus in his mouth and jaws... So he can't eat sometimes his food.
We where at the vet now very often and 2 weeks ago he get every 2 days 2 injections. No he must get every 5 days a pill.... But I think that this don't really work.... He has problems and the only one the vet told me : I can give him before his food a little ice or cream... He like the cream but I think it can't be sooooooooooo good if he get evry day cream before food....
Knows some one of you more about this problem???

Sorry, I don't know anything about herpes in the mouth, but only the respiratory system where I think interferon is sometimes used to try to boost the immune system. Is that what he had? As for the cream, if you are concerned, have you tried a teaspoon of plain natural yoghurt instead to see if he likes that? Is the idea to sooth his mouth before he eats? Poor Goldy, I hope his pills and injections help him. It's such a difficult thing to control - I have always been told that stress makes herpes worse so you also have to try to see that he is kept as unstressed as possible. Good luck
