I'm booking her in the vets today as she has been very quiet lately, she has been a bit sniffly (though that has gone) and not been eating as much. She has also made funny mouth movements so I looked at her 2 lower teeth yesterday (she had the rest removed but the vet said couldn't take those out as they may break her jaw) and her gums look quite red, when she had her vaccinations the vet wrote tartar on the card so I'm tipping that could be the problem.

Hoping all goes well today  for Byron.

Fingers crossed for her, but it is possible to remove all the teeth, I have had a couple of completely toothless cats.
-
Thanks,
Yes, the vet removed all Schui's but wouldn't do the same for Byron, I have heard of someone else's cat who couldn't have them removed because of the jaw so maybe it depends whether the roots go too far down? - I've really no idea but something I will ask when I go.
I was disappointed at the time because I could see this coming and have had tooth complications with another cat so I'm very wary.

Poor Byron. Hope the vet can get her sorted out quickly

Have just got back from the vets and Byrons gums around the 2 teeth were red and a bit pussy. The vet said the reason she was able to remove all Schui's teeth was because they were wobbly anyway but Byrons were deep rooted so it is risky removing them. She said she can do it but it can break the jaw so if she did it would be 1 at a time to avoid too much stress on the jaw. Also she said if it did break, at her age it's unlikely to heal. She said she would feel happier giving her a repeat prescription of Antirobe to take every few weeks or as needed and a little Metacam if she can tolerate it.
She also had her nails clipped after digging 1 into Rebecca's hand and her warty scab pulled off - again.

Aww, poor baby. Seems a shame to keep pumping her full of antibiotics though. Fingers crossed they work.

Aaah I hope she soon feels better.

thanks Desley and Maddiesmum.
It is and I don't like the idea - I won't take anything myself. I am hoping that these will work well for her because she must have them but afterwards will only give her them if really necessary, like myself I've always given them as few meds as possible.

Poor Byron and hopew they do the trick
