I bought a Drinkwell a while ago and he still goes to the sink for water :-: I dont know why he would be doing this as the fountain is always on at food times and then some. He will always come to the bathroom when Im in there, and get in the sink. I will take him to the fountain but he just sits there and looks at it most of the time lol They all use it but he also carrys on wanting to use the bathroom tap :tired:
RE the fountains dont the half make a racket! :shify:

Not just me then?

I'm not quite sure where Dave is getting his water from at the moment as I've taken to putting the lid down on the loo, sick of soggy bum and soggy paws! doesn't matter how fresh his water is, it would seem the water in his dish is purely for him to stick his front paws in and flick around :tired: Dizzy would drink out of the tap in the bathroom when I was, erm, doing the necessaries but I haven't worked out where Dave is drinking from yet. Putting water in his wet food just in case he's not drinking anything!
Edit: Just noticed I'm doing the mother using the wrong name for the wrong child, I meant to say Chilli! I don't know what Dizzy's drinking habits are these days as I haven't seen her for two years, she lives with my mother!

I bought a Cat IT fountain for mylot and they all refused to go anywhere near it. I ended up giving it away   Some cats love em and some cats hate em ... I think fountains are the cat equivalent of marmite!

I was thinking about getting one for mine a while ago but asked for comments on here! Decided that my lot would probably be the "run away what's that" kind of cat rather than the "oh I like it" kind

I bought the platinum drinkwell because of its quiet motor. Lexy would not go near it, my sisters cat Spenny refused, even Pippa the one who lives on tap water refused. Gave it to T instead in the hope that one kitty there would benefit or she could auction it at one of the socials. Someone might as well make use of it, none of ours will. :tired:

Id try the famous "reverse psychology" ....
Pretend its something really special, NOT for cats, only for people and you never know ...
Ive just bought a drinking bowl for both cats who promptly ignored it. I wasnt too fussed as it was from a Charity shop but I thought Id pretend it was mine and see what happened. So I put some fresh water in it and pretended to drink out of it. (Didnt get quite as far as kneeling down and lapping!) And within 5 minutes of that they were both clamouring for adrink. Little perishers!! :tired:

Kylie and Willow (enemies) use our drinkwell platinum but Alice and Clapton won't go near it. The platinum is so much quieter than the normal one.

Well all of my cats use this, just Harry also prefers to use the sink aswell.

Toby had a tap obsesssion too, CC. My cousin will always remember the first time she came to meet my cats as she'd popped to the loo and only pushed the door shut (there was only us two in the house other than the zoo!) and when she went to wash her hands Toby leapt up at the sink and scared her witless!
We have had both drinkwell and catit fountains while we had Tobes and he still always preferred the tap. :Luv:
All four cats that live here no use the water fountain happily. Takes all sorts, I suppose!

The new addition to my family has a strange obbssession with the tap, she reuses to drink out of her bowl and will sit in the sink licking the tap even when its not running  Skiba will wait til the dogs get their water to drink from their bowl.. bless them :innocent: lol

Our Smokey loved water, his fountain, dripping taps, drips from the patio table and hosepipe.
Simone, maybe she is wanting you turn the tap on, did she do that at your dads? (just read your other thread)

Most of my cats love sitting on the sink or wash basin or bath waiting for the taps to be turned on. I've gone through numerous water fountains (eventually the pumps break - usually after constant use for about three months!) that I have given up on them now. However, even though most of my cats would sit and drink or paddle their paws in the fountain, they still used to love playing with the stream of water coming from the tap. And at least two of them will sit on the wash basin licking the tap even if it's not running... yet they have endless bowls of fresh drinking water dotted about the place.
I'm sure it is the movement and reflected light coming from a stream of water that fascinates them. Twinks, the little kitten who we took in in August, will sit in the sink or basin with the water running all over her shoulders and back without appearing to notice. When she has finished playing she just shakes her head and there's nothing to show that she was drenched a minute earlier. Completely waterproof. :)

Yeah Harry licks the tap when he wants me to turn it on.
He will even drink from the babys potty out the back  not wee though
