Just a minor thing - Spondylitis is different to curvature of the spine (scoliosis). Spondylitis is something to do with a bacterial/fungal infection in the vertebrae which causes inflamation and swelling resulting in pressure on spinal cord.  Scoliosis can cause spondylosis (spinal arthritis) but it seems spondylitis is something completely different!

Not that that helps on finding him a home/placement but it may be worth checking what condition he has.  I know it's not something you have advertised though.

He looks adorable and I do hope he can be found somewhere.

That has crossed my mind Gill, I'm not sure where he was found etc but I'll give Josie a ring and find out.  Even if a cat can't be touched outside, once caught some are totally different and are little cuddle bums.  Brian my FIV was described as a feral and yet when I caught him, you couldn't have got a softer cat  :)

yep spondylitis and spondylosis are two separate diseases - I once got my fingers severely rapped for typing the wrong thing when typing up a patient's notes - doctors should learn to write better in my view ...

I've spoken to Josie and she's not sure what he's like with other cats, he will be going to hers tomorrow to be accessed.  When he was picked up it was found that he had undescended testicles and he has now been neutered.  He was in an RTA in Brentwood, Essex and was due to be pts as no one has come forward.  He's approx 3/4 years old and he's absolutely huge.  He will need someone who is prepared to put a lot of work in ie physio for his injuries,  he has a 3 inch surgery wound underneath and walks at an angle.  the disc damage is L6/7.  I dont know if this will ever make good, but the bruising to the back leg will.  he may have to be an indoor cat but will defo need physiotherapy.  I think he also has a bit of arthritis which he's on treatment for.  He pretty shy but he's been through a rough time of late but I think with some tlc, he will come on in leaps and bounds.  I'm afraid future vet bills will have to lie with the new owner as Josie cannot afford to lay out and she only stepped in as he was going to be pts.  I will probably speak to her again tomorrow at some stage so if I find anything else out I will let you know

Dawn, if he gets on well with other cats, i am more than happy to foster him till he is well enough to be rehomed.

I will cover the cost for his physio, but he is too young for me to adopt, as long as Josie agrees to find him a home once he is well enough.

We can discuss all this next week.

Hi Janey, Teddy went to a permanant foster home, the lady runs a small rescue her self and has 8 cats of her own, one looking very much like Teddy , i offered to foster him thinking he needs rest in his pen but i was told by Josie is best for him to be able to walk around so he doesnt get sores , and with Phoebe around i thought is not a good idea, there were few sanctuary who offered him a place but it was best for him to go to a home environment, so i offered to sponsor him and cover his treatment for first few months,  and this lady offered him a lovely home. Happy ending for gorgeous TEDDY.
