Round here (near RAF Lyneham) there is a serious problem with forces families moving and just leaving their cats wandering the streets - my vet gets involved a lot as one branch of her practice is pretty much opposite the base.

Yea but its not like its the proper press is it :evillaugh:

I know this has been a big problem for as long as I can remember and sadly that is a very long time. Rescues near American bases were particularly under pressure.

my bro and sis in law had a heck of a time getting permission to take their pets to Germany (bro is in army)
after much haggling they could take the cat, but the dog (labrador/collie cross) was deemed a 'large, agressive breed' mby German immegration so they gave him to a friend in UK... in Germany they got a lab/alsation cross who is twice the size!!
both pets have their pet passports and I think they would be as likely to leave Simba and Sam behind as they would to leave their son behind

yea but lots of people watch Springer doesn't make it true, or them people smarter

problem lies in the fact that those who read the rags are the ones least able to analyse the value of the information they are taking in. Simply because they lack the education to do so. And even more sadly, there are more of them than there are of us. That is why this sort of story is so damaging.

Anyone remember the episode of "Porridge" where Fletcher said to Godber "Buy me the Sun - Oh- and something to read ....." ?
