I just want to mention the passing of Hendrix who was PTS today.. He has FIV and was drinking vast amounts of water and petrified of us and his helpers.. He wasnt handable and the stress involved in his care was causing so much distress we were unable to treat him without making his life hell.. He just withdraw into himself and became like a caged animal.
He was loved in the past and was given some TLC food and wamth but by the time we were ablet to do anything for him he was too distressed and athough i would of liked him to of known we tried our best, in the end we had to call it a day.

A distressing decision but easy to make. I saw Hendrix briefly and he was in despair.
RIP Hendrix. Free again. :Luv:

RIP Hendrix, I'm sure he knew you were trying to help him, his fear was not created by you, but by his past.

i have to say this was such a difficult call, he was being loved and cared for but his life was no more he totally freeked out. There was something else wrong due to his water intake, but its not make it any easier.. Only the first FIV cat we have had to PTS this year, we have saved seven all now in family homes...
So many rescues PTS FIV in the first instance, he was i suppose lucky he came to us.. But still dreadfully sad...

Oh Sharon  I'm sure Hendrix knew you were trying to help him and the decision you took was in his best interest.

So sorry to hear about Hendrix. He was lucky to have your caring for him even though he could not overcome his fears. RIP fella
-
i am so sorry to hear this, but you did try your best, sadly we are sometimes hampered by other people, and it isnt our fault. The important thing for him is that he had somewhere safe and warm, and when he felt really poorly, there were some loving people who allowed him to be set free, his ending could have been so much worse, and he has you to be thankful for that.
RIP little one

So sad, but the right decision. All we can do is give them a chance, sadly in this case Hendrix was not able to take up our offer.

RIP little one, a very sad ending, but the right decision I think
Run free Hendrix xx
