Yesterday Pearl and I were at the Burmese Cat Society show. It's a small breed show with a great atmosphere and it's so wonderful to be amongst friends. :grouphug:
As a result, Pearl got LOTS of cuddles and fusses throughout the day. :Luv2: She was so thoroughly spoiled by everyone including the show manager and some kind and thoughtful exhibitors who left specials on her pen. :shy:
Pearl won her open and had two firsts and a second in her side classes and picked up Best HP Adult. Another Purrs cat, Indy, got Best HP Kitten. So it was :duel: between them for overall Best in Show.
Pearl got the nod from the judges and took the overall Best in Show. :yesss: She's my :wish:
Bless her, she did herself proud and looked quite regal in her posh pen at the front of the hall - that was until she caught sight of her neighbour (a lilac neuter boy) and then you should have heard her language... :-[ :Nooooo: :notlisten: I think she didn't think too much of him. :evillaugh:
As it was a long drive home, we stopped off at Boxworth services (between Huntington & Cambridge) for a bite to eat. I usually stop there because they don't appear to have any probs with me taking the carrier into the food court. As I was getting the carrier out of the car, a chap pulled up into the space next to me and was wondering what was in it. So we got chatting and stuff - turns out he showed horses and dogs - and we had a good conversation while grabbing a bite to eat. Pearl and I were also ambushed by a busload of ladies of pensionable age and she was duly admired by them too.
Then the girl who was on clear-up duty in the food court came over because she was curious about the carrier and was wondering what I kept on putting in it. :evillaugh: Of course it was pearl and yes, I was feeding her some chicken. :oolala: Pearl actually had half of my chicken legend and I had the remainder, together with a portion of fries and a hot c.h.ocola.te. :heeee heeee:
Was home my eight which wasn't so bad. Pearl dashed straight to her bowl and vacuumed up a portion of felix, then dashed in the opposite direction to the litter tray so she could do the necessaries. Toby on the other hand, set himself to inspectorating the rosettes and prizes as only he can. :agree:
It was a great day and good fun. Was good to finally meet Indy and his meowmy too.

To get to where she's at has been the most amazing journey and what she's achieved this year in terms of results on the show bench has been nothing short of astonishing. :shy:
Doesn't stop her from chewing my toes at three in the morning though... :evillaugh:
