Thank you for those that have sent me NL in return. Leeds CP you do indeed how your work cut own for yourselves with all that trapping we dont get so many poorly cases as you write about. Good on you for doing something..

I would be interested in knowing the prevelance of FELV in the ferals.. Do you test all of them when they come to be neutered...?

Hi,

Yes we do have a ridiculously large problem in Leeds but then it's a huge city and we're actually only a small branch! Our trapping team are amazing and it's where most of our resident cats come to us (which means in turn that we often cannot help cats who are having to be re-homed due to family circumstance etc). It also means that we end up with many many timids who take longer to re-home, but we really feel that no-one else in Leeds is doing the feral and timid side of things and so we make that the focus of the branch.

I'm not really on that side (being the homing officer), but know that we blood check all our ferals and most of the cats who come to us through vulnerable circumstances. We look after around 10 feral colonies in Leeds and have a high success rate at re-homing FIV cats (Tozer found a great home btw!)

I am so proud of our branch as you can tell lol!
