I just phoned the vet and explained that I won't be able to keep my appointment for Alice & Kylie's vacs on Monday 15th due to recovering from an op. They said that is fine and they will do a home visit and do all 4 at the same time. This will mean 3 of them being done a month early. They said there will be a £27 home visit charge ;D - I asked if that was x 4 and they said no, that is the total ;D - It will save me and the cats so much stress and hassle :) - I can't believe it is so cheap - especially as they are 5 miles away in Herne Bay.
They have asked if I want FeLv - can anyone advise?. They said they recommend it as there are cases in the area at the moment. I said my cats don't leave the garden but we do get feline visitors. They said they can bring trivet and separate FeLv and I can decide on the day.

I am impressed with them. They are also the only 24hr vet in the area. All the others use Vetsnow in Canterbury, 7 miles away. The senior partner is very personable and was joking with a customer last week that he doesn't treat rats (speaking about her smooth dachshund pup :evillaugh: ) - I actually saw him walking through the practice holding a chicken recently :evillaugh:
On a serious note. I had been thinking about getting Clapton's bloods done this time but assume they don't do bloods for home visits? - I think he is quite stable and eating well at the moment so I don't see what purpose it would serve as there is no other CRF treatment. They would know if he was getting dehydrated when they give him a once-over anyway?

If cats go out then I would recommend it as indeed do CP HQ. However, if indoor only there is no need as there’s no contact with any other cats.
Since the FeLV injection has become commonplace I have noticed a huge reduction in the number of cases of FeLV I hear about.

That is very very cheap, it would be at least double round here, unless you know the vet and his wife very well and he has to pass near your home to get to his. ;D. I say nothing.

It is more the visitors that I am worried about. Only this mornig, Kylie spotted on of the tortie girls in the back garden. She can really move for a big girl as she sees of intruders with a passion :scared: - if they aren't quick enough, she will beat them up :(

In that case I personally would have my cats injected for FeLV, as if she picks on the wrong cat she may well then contact it and pass it on to the others.

That seems very good Mark - our vet didn't charge for her home visit when we had Padraig PTS - just for the medicines she used which I thought was very kind.

If you dont already have felv done then remember you will need another visit in 3 weeks for the second part
