THis arrived this evening - beautifully packaged, and it is gorgeous. I have to admit I only bid on it cos it was not getting any interest and virtue should be rewarded (the artists, that is). It is a lovely wee miniature! and the colours are wonderfully vibrant. Please tell Gordon thank you.
I will put a lot of thought into how I have it mounted. At present I am erring toward a thin timber frame (d-section) which is 'tortoisehelled' in the colours of the painting (yes, it's real!) and with a wide matt surrounding the image. I will make the frame myself once I have some spare time from renovations lol. It will be hung in the hall of the new house, along with a few other watercolours of various genres and mounting styles, so will need to put some thought into arranging them on the wall so they work together. That way they will be away from direct sunlight and will not be damaged ;D .
It is great to have an original art work, and I am really very pleased with this one! :wow:
