I'm not sure. I don't buy them often but just wondered.

Mine love the chicken and rice Purina one...........and its gentle of Jerrys tummy.

I bought some Purna One Natures balance and mine ADORE it!!! Not sure how good it is but when we had our family cat Ozzy, he ate purina one vital balance and had the healthiest coat we'd ever seen so it must have done something good for him. Mine really love the natural balance wet food too- it's their favourite.

Are you talking wet or dried food?
My birmans have the salmon and rice Purina One biscuits and will not eat anything else .......they are bolshy little felines!

It was the dry I meant - Proplan seems to be in more of a "vet type" bag. It was 3 for 2 for 3kg bags in PAH a while ago. I got 2 senior and one regluar. Mine didn't like the senior so I gave it to one of our fosterers. The regular is going down OK. I will order some more Orijen but want 100% assurance it is safe.
Willow eats Nature's balance wet and she is really fussy. It is the only thing I can get her to eat regularly since they stopped selling the one I have forgotten the name of (made by Mars)

I havent tried the Proplan and did try to get the comapnay to tell me what was different without success, they didnt even offer a sample.
The birmans and the big cats will not eat the chicken flavour though only the salmon one!!

Iirc, proplan has a higher meat content and is more of a "premium" product. Purina one is a cheaper product and sold in supermarkets etc. while the purina pro plan is only sold in pet shops (not a guarantee of quality, I know). It's a long time since I looked at labels though. Mosi was on pro plan kitten when I got him so I remember looking into the ingredients then.

A 3kg bag costs over £12 at Sainburys and more at Asda
Funny enough i have a £5 voucher here for the ProPlan but have never used it

Wait until PAH have it on offer. When it was I think it is about £15 for a 3kg bag but sometimes you can get it 3 for 2

I wouldnt touch either, last time I looked, Purina had about 16% meat in it, and I dont think Proplan is much better, I have only ever used it once, as Lucy wouldnt touch JWB Senior, and as she had 4kg to lose, she needed some senior - it went with her when she was adopted!!

I didn't call it a cheap supermarket food - I called it a cheaper food that is available in supermarkets! There is a difference! Last time I looked, purina one had something like 14% meat while pro plan had something like 24%. That was a while ago though.

My cat Cuscus loves Purina One natures balance dry. He licks his plate clean! I have tried few others but he votes for this one.

Its a good food Desley although I do prefer the Technical but birmans wont eat that.

Sorry Gill, but I am snobby about my cats dry and dont think anything under 20% meat is a good food - I wont feed Royal Canin for a similar reason, as they wont state the percentage of meat. I couldn't find the percentage for TechniCal when I looked at it on Pet Planet. I am lucky that I get my JWB at a reduced rate through the rescue Mabel was from.

Pro plan is the better of the two, the bag of chicken i have to hand is 21% chicken, its not as good as some as uses more grain sources other than rice but not a bad quality food. Mister Magoo and Dexter eat this as compromise, has to be circular for Magoo and of certain taste for Dexter who doesnt eat JWB, the pieces are too small for his mouth, its like kitten food to him :Luv:

Salmon, duck or chicken in the adult range and theres a sensitive with turkey. Its £15 a bag in PAH and often on a 3 for 2 so better price than supermarket purina one. If they eat it that is :evillaugh:

I have been using Joe & Jills, what do people recon to that? And Iams natures wellbeing, that says 30% chicken.

Not tried Joe and Jills yet, as I struggle to get to a Sainsbury's, but I wouldn't touch the IAms food.

Dont go there much either, those are the two furthest away from my house. I didn't notice it when I went the other week though, although I did only look at Senior dry (dont normally bother with supermarket stuff, but Zi needed some till my JWB arrived)

pro plan is the better of the 2.
My ragdolls eat the delicate sensitive version and it has stopped Delphi's diarrhoea.
Their coats shine and they look very healthy on it.

Tesco are selling the 3kg bags of Purina one for £11.26. I checked when I was in on saturday. It is the 3kg bag.

I think Purina is very good and only buy mine those - though only Byron has them occasionally both being toothless. I started buying them when we adopted our last 2 cats from CP and the lady who homechecked said they both had sensitive tummys and to feed them Purina as it has few nasties in a high rice content so less likely to get allergies. It was brilliant for them and if they ate anything else they soon had diarrhoea. I have tried Pro-plan but they never seemed to like it as much.
