:thanks: :thanks:
First a big thank you to all that viewed the video and spread the word.
The contest ended this morning and by my reckoning the video finished 10th placed in the view count with nearly 25,000 views out of appx. 220 entries. Despite trying numerous times I never did get a reponse from Youtube as to where my missing 60,000 odd votes went else it would have finished an even more respectable 6th place or possibly higher had these missing views appeared as they should have done over two months ago. All said and done I'm very happy with 10th place considering the video started some one to two months behind many of the other entries and it was my first entry in a video competion.
There's a very slim chance that it might still be in the reckoning for the video that the band choose as their favourite, I'll keep you posted if I get any news.
The most important thing is to thank you all for your support, it has been good fun.

Hi folks,
Just a small bit of news, I finally and somewhat ironically heard from Youtube support the day after the competition had finished that they will investigate my missing views and, if they re-instate them it will finish with apx 83,000 views moving it up to 6th place. This could have been better had these views been re-instated over two months ago which might have had a bearing on the outcome. Whatever the case, as I said, thanks for all your support, it was good fun.

Hi Gill,
Thanks, I'm not really disappointed as it was always going to be a tough contest and there were some very good videos entered. It's a pity that Youtube didn't respond faster after I first contacted them as views counts, "honours" of which I had number one most watched UK music video on one particular day (though those too dissapeared), and ratings do count to getting publicity. At the end of the day it finished in the top 5% and maybe the top 2 1/2% if they reinstate the views but still finished well behind the eventual winner although it was ahead of that entry for some time when it had 83,00 views, I still don't understand how the top videos got as many views as they did but, as I said, it was great fun and also a learning curve as I've never entered anything like this before and learnt a lot about how Youtube operates.
Cheers

I really liked the video! ;D Afterwards I had to get Marillion song as well and every time I hear it, I remember the kittie band Letterbox!

Thanks, I'm really pleased you enjoyed the video and the song. Letterbox had great fun making the video, Alfie's such a poser ;D

Edit: I just learned that Steve Hogarth lead singer with Marillion is highly alergic to cats and was hospitalised as a kid because of it so I don't see it being the band's choice video, just my luck.
However Pete Trewavas Marillion's bassist has two cats so one never knows ;D
