Travelling cat mystery

Vets were yesterday trying to discover how a tabby cat was found more than 300 miles away from home.

Pebbles was found wandering the streets of Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, but a microchip shows she hails from Dumfries.

Staff at the Arvonia Animal Hospital took in the stray after she was found in the Hatherley area of the town.

The phone number on her microchip is out of order and the original vet listed is unable to track down the owner.

We at Canterbury CP dealt with a case like that last year. Puss found in Canterbury but chipped to an address in Scotland. We managed to trace the owner, though.  :)

I think there furthest distance for a 'forgot to change the chip details' cat was one found in the UK that was chipped to Spain.  :innocent:
