Hi all
We have just taken in a puss cat that has been a stray for several months living in someones garden. 2 yrs old approx, un neutered (although he is now) and no chip.. The vets put him down as a choc point siamese but no way as the eyes are blue and he doesnt have points. Not all one colour either so not burmese.. But he as choc, cream body body and black, brown feat, paws and ears. Photo is on its way but is this a posh moggy or maybe a tonkinese with is what the fosterer thinks when she looked at her cat book.. He is SH and a very handsome if somewhat noisy puss cat..

Sounds as if it could possibly be a Tonk. They have the points and their body is sort of pale shading. Their eyes are not usually the blue of Siamese, but a lovely clear aqua colour. Some are more chatty than others - my Oscar chats a lot.
-
I think we need piccies :drool;
-
Could be an Oriental rather than Siamese, they are often solid colouring and can have blue eyes. Step daughter has a Tonk but he does not have blue eyes.
-
I met Merlin tonight but didn't have the camera. Very Birman-like I thought - maybe a bit of Raggie. He is a lovely, friendly cat and will be homed in no time.
Sharn told me the silly vet had him down as Siamese - no way - nothing like

Sharn said Christine took the photos on Thursday so I'm surprised she hasn't emailed them to you yet.

This is a very interesting sounding cat! Birman, siamese, snowshoe and ragdoll :waiting:
-
Burmese i think! Or a cross!
I have one or two more but these are the best.. If a pedigree will get on to the welfare for him
-
whatever it is beautiful I love that colouring its my favourite
-
I’d vote Burmese, though he doesn’t look nearly as grumpy as my Lirael (she’s not but she always looks that way).
Lovely colouring!
-
Does anyone know any Burmese people on here that can confirm about this puss cat. We have called him Merlin by the way..
-
Guess what. I think its just one beautiful pussy cat
-
Before anyone starts - it was dark when I saw him! :shy:
-
I am 99.9% sure that he is a Burmese
-
But Burmese don't have blue eyes - Some Tonks do though ;D

LOL :evillaugh:

TBH he looks like an old style seal point Siamese to me! In the days before mese's were all pointy and cross eyed they used to look just like that. :Luv2:
Might be worth contacting this lot to see if they can help:

old style siamese is my dream cat :Luv:
-
Yes I did wondered about that Sam, there are still some traditional siamese breeders out there.
-
I have absolutely no idea, but just thought I'd say that Merlin looks gorgeous!
-
My hubby used to have a Tonk and she was a mink/chocolate colour. She is gone a long time now and haven't had the pics of her out for ages. If I remember correctly she was a similar colour in the face but her body was darker and she had a sharper face. I can't swear on it but I think she had blue eyes. Minka was a pedigree. She was one of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen and she had a lovely personality. I was terrified of cats until I met her.

No idea what he is........but hes lovely! :Luv2:
-
I dont know what he is.. a raggie maybe..but his head shape and look are so like Franta who is a Birman.....could be a cross or an old style siamese maybe.....just his look is soooo Franta, especially now Franta has ttrimmed his coat down to this length!
-
Just seen the second picture and wonder if he could be thin BSH.
