no name yet
she is a bit skinny, coat is manky and sticky, diarriah, wormy tummy and a really loud mieow if you leave the room
oh and fleas
she was free to a good home and I fell in love... I have a feeling they got fed up of her mieow/couldn't be bothered with her... so friendly though and fairly relaxed considering
-
You big softie
She is :Luv2:
-
Awwww I love her pink nose.
Grrrrr to 'free to good home' ads. She is lucky that you ARE giving a good home
-
What a sweetie :Luv: she looks well settled in bless her
-
Ummm, let me think, do I still want to cuddle her after that description ?
Yes of course I do :Luv2: Good for you. Hope you think of a name soon.
Mary
-
we agreed to go look at her as I figured this is a real bad time of year for free kitties as they become 'presents' so I asked mum and she agreed if we liked her and thought she would get on with Indy then we would give her a try.
she has already been an early present to a 16 year old, left alone all day and they wondered why she was shy at first but noisy/clingy
they also saddled her with the name 'Holly-Berry' and I don't want to call her Holly... or Berry
vets booked tomorrow and if all clear we can start the intro to Indy
-
Lol, whoopsy.. So cute though!
If I wasn't limited by my flat/landlord, I'm sure this would have happened to me by now!!
-
she is gorgeous ;D
-
how kissable is that pink nose? :Luv2:
-
am in Chat if anyone wants to help me with the list of names I am bouncing around
-
Sorry I'm off to bed now BUT my suggestion would be Angel as it is nearly Christmas and I reckon the Angels were looking down on her when you came to her rescue. :Luv2:
Mary
-
What a darling :)
I'm forever asking my OH if I can bring more babes home, I have no willpower!

Names I am considering:
Lyra - 'Musical' she is fairly noisy
Maya - 'Illusion'
Twyla - 'Star'
Vega - a star within the constellation 'Lyra'
Nefertari - 'The Most Beautiful' Egyptian
Isis - 'Queen' or 'Throne'
Neko - 'Cat' Japanese
Kiara - 'Bright' Simbas daughter in The Lion King
Mitzi - 'Love/Beloved'
I need to decide before 11 am tomorrow for her vets registration tomorrow
-
I vote for Kiara - those lovely eyes :Luv:
-
i think kiara as well beautiful name for a beautiful cat :Luv: :Luv2: :Luv:
-
she is lovely :Luv:
-
(http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r49/CityKittyFish/animals/baby6.jpg)

-
all i cn say is :Luv: :Luv2: :Luv: :Luv2:
-
:Luv: :Luv:
She is gorgeous. I like Kiara too.
-
I think Kiara too, gorgeous name!
-
:1st place: on your new arrival, she's absolutely gorgeous :Luv2: Hope she and Indie become the best of pals :)
Probably too late now as it's gone 11am but I vote Kiara ;D
-
I love the name Isis. :) She's a sweetie.
I wish they'd ban free to good home adverts. There's a ginger and white tom on our local recycling site!
-
I lost track of the time.....but Kiara would get my vote :)
With those pretty eyes, what else could it be? :evillaugh:
Heres hoping she gets the all clear from the vet...then home to start a life of cuddles, kisses and Indy's company!
-
Lovely!
Hope the vet trip went well.
Gizmo talks like crazy so I know how annoying it can be at times (the sheer amount of times I thought he was in pain and ran after him only to find him looking at something on the wall!).
Now tell us what you decided name wise ;)
-
She looks like a Kiara to me too! :Luv2:
-
Just to confuse things I think Kiera is nicer than Kiara but if I had to choose between your two names its gotta be Kiara :Luv2:
Shes a mini version of my Grwndi :Luv:
-
I prefer Mitzi!
-
well... yeah
Vets trip went well... a name was chosen literally in car on way to vets... Kiara after Simba's daughter in Lion King II: Simba's Pride
In vets, loving the vet... purring away... verdict of a flea treatment bath, claws clipping and good food to clear up the upset tummy (prob caused by a diet of only Whiskas Adult wet food, no biscuits) and then worming and flea drop on back of the neck and I would have a lovely
wait for it
(http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r49/CityKittyFish/animals/Misha01.jpg)
little tom cat!
so HIS name is Misha and his is 11 weeks old, still got all his baby teeth.
Going back next week for jabs after the tummy calms down... proves his last owners never had him at the vets as they would have known 'Holly Berry' was more 'Harry Berry'!
-
No I really don't understand how people don't notice they have a boy cat. But maybe that's because I have only ever had one boy kitten and that is Dave and he has laways been very, erm, "blessed" in that department.
Misha is a lovely choice though and sounds like you have given this little bundle a loving new home.
-
A boy :wow: Still absolutely gorgeous :Luv2:
-
he has been curled up in the pen ever since we came home so not really had a chance to look... as with him being dainty and a girly mieow... and the last owners saying he was a girl we didn't go out of our way to check
Misha was actually my first name choice but had to leave it as it was a boys name
so after finding out he is a 'He' I decided between Orion (my other fave boy cat name at the moment) and Misha... Misha won hands down
now wish me luck... clipping claws followed by a bath... make his nice and not itchy
-
Lol, good luck. My experience bathing cats has generally been damp and painful!
-
Lol, good luck. My experience bathing cats has generally been damp and painful!
Same here, but it usually ends up with me on the floor in fits of giggles..........due to the combination of the soulful 'What did I do to deserve this?' look and the drowned rat fur!
-
one bathed kitty
he sat still the entire time, maybe the water was soothing... nearly 100 (at rough guess) fleas jumped cat and went down the drain and then combed several more out, he now has the drops on back of his neck and have sprayed/powdered/hoovered everywhere he has been, other pets had flea drops updated
He is such a cuddly puss! wants to be on your lap or shoulder at all times and purring like a tractor... he curls his feet up weird but that may be normal and Indy was weird... or both normal in their own way.
Indy came in when I was feeding Misha and not a hiss between them.... Indy just sat and watched :cheer: :Luv2: :) so proud of my big boy
Photos after the bath

And when feeding him Indy came into the room... I got ready for fur to fly but Indy was a gentleman... not a hiss or glare between them

-
Thats one lucky little boy! I think he knew you were helping him and he trusted you. :) Arent you LUCKY? TWO gorgeous kitties! :briggin:
-
Ooooooh only just caught up with this ... Misha is gorgeous and very "pretty". Poor little lad housing that many "friends" No wonder he sat still in the bath if they were jumping cat ... I bet he was over the moon watching them drown.
Glad to hear Indy is accepting of his new housemate ... I'm sure they will bond as they are both young enough. And lucky you having 2 such gorgeous boys to share you home :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
I was going to say have you checked sex is right :evillaugh: people often lie to get rid, more people seem to want females :tired:
Indy will love having a boy to mess around with ;D
-
well, we just had a supervised play session and it went great! :Luv:
MEGA PICTURE POST
they played and sniffed and then had a rest... then a minor tiff. Indy doesn't scratch on the scratching post much but he objected to Misha doing it!
hopefully Indy will learn to use the posts rather than the sofa corner... then when they got a wee bit too excited Misha came running to me for safety... again Indy was like 'hey that's MY Mamma' and sat on him. So they have been seperated again with another meal and both given extra loves.

I think big bro looks quite proud and think they are going to get on so well ;D
Now where did that name come from...........cept my Misa  Yes thats how you pronounce Misa.....well Meesha really cos its Czech
-
That's fantastic, I can't believe they only just met! Indy is a very good boy and seems to have mastered the 'boshing' without using claws on his little brother :)
-
actually Misha is named after a character from a video game I play :-[
in the game GuildWars my main character has a pet Lynx used in battle and the cat is called Meesha... so when I had to choose a boy name on the spot at the vets it was the first name that came into my mind!
He nearly was Orion after the constellation
-
Well that looks like it went well !
Brilliant x
-
Boy cat! I thought it was a girl cat
I musta missed something again.......sigh
Think I will go and have a danish and rebuild by strength while watching celebrity
-
here is digital Meesha, he is 4 years old in real time and a great game companion :)
That is my digital alter-ego, a Ranger called Bellona of Karayan ( a name that means - Light of Harddrive, I am such a geek)
*sigh* I wish I had her figure
anyway, now you know :evillaugh: :innocent:
-
Wow ..looks like your boys are going to get along just fine and dandy. I'm sure there will be a bit of jealousy to start with but it looks like they will sort it out OK.
-
Looks like they are going to get on great! How lovely... :Luv2:
-
Aww he's lovely!
I wish I had another boy cat :)
-
hmmm... Misha is off back to the vets on Tuesday for his jabs
I am also gonna ask for a test on his hearing... he yells a lot and doesn't respond well to sound, no reaction to clapping/sirens/rattling treats,,, though if he sees the treat tub in my hand when I rattle it he is straight at my feet or on my shoulder
obviously I don't care either way, I love that lil scrap of fur already :Luv2: but it is something to be aware of
(http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r49/CityKittyFish/animals/MishaToday.jpg) oops noticed attached wrong piccy
he has been de-flea'd, de-wormed and de-gunked
and he has started playing with toys... he will watch Indy play with a toy then copy him *exactly* to the point Indy fell off scratching post playing with a mousie and Misha flung himself off with his mousie
-
      :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
What a cutie :Luv: I'm so pleased that he and Indy are getting on, long lost brothers :)
-
sooo cute!!! ickle pink nosey :Luv:
-
Indy and Misha having a brotherly moment
(http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r49/CityKittyFish/animals/theboys.jpg)
then Indy pounced
oh and Misha is really excited about Christmas... :innocent: :)
-
Oh, thats so cute! Cheered up a grey, bleak, cold, wet Sunday morning no end!! :) What would we do without our cats?
-
how sweet :Luv:
-
another Misha pic... tis amazing how they look different when all tucked in, he looks older!
Also he sleeps a good 20 hours a day... Indy never slept this much at that age so is it ok for Misha to?
he makes me worry a little...
He s also ver much a lap can and will lay on you for hours, snoozing away. He also will eat as much as you feed him, no matter how much, in wet food, dry he will only eat after the wet has gone but I want to get him mostly on dry in the long run. His breath is really smelly too though the gums look healthy... anything I can do for that?
-
Kittens will sleep a LOT! As long as he's bouncy and sprightly when he is awake I wouldn't worry. In terms of food, many kittens and cats alike love their food so just make sure you feed the reommended amount spread out between 4 meals per day. If he's enjoying the wet food then definately encourage that as it's uch better for him than the dry- perhaps go for 3/4 wet and 1/4 dry in a day.
Glad he's settled so well
-
He's delicious :Luv: I'm so glad he and Indy are getting on well ;D
-
even when up he isn't overly active, but then again he lost over 100g of worms today
maybe now he will perk up more, he is friendly and loving the cuddles but spends a total of 10 mins a day playing, either by himself or with Indy
could just be the moving in shyness I suppose? he is more active than yesterday
-
even when up he isn't overly active, but then again he lost over 100g of worms today
-
He should feel better without his guests, keep up with regular monthly treatments ;D
-
well, time for an update now Misha has been with us a week, and has done such a lot
made us drive 34 miles to get him
mieowed 34 miles back
introduced a host of parasitic friends
won over the entire family
enjoyed a bath
still can do a very good junior fire-alarm impression if feeling ignored
how is that for a nom-able tummy?
and here he shows off his pretty new collar (which I use to hear where he is)
he has had his first injection and a hearing test. It turns out he has 65-78% function in his left ear... has trouble hearing either end of the pitch spectrum. So it is really great for him that this is an indoor home, though it may improve over time as it appeas to be due to an old, untreated, ear infecton. He is barely affected, just can't figure out the direction of some sounds and doesn't seem to hear clapping or alarm clocks
-
awwww, Misha is lovely :Luv: very like our first cat Penny
-
He's a beautiful boy, he looks so relaxed already :Luv2:
