Well! After much behind the scenes negotiation, Susanne has very kindly offered to let me have this wonderul tea pot which will now travel with me to the colonies to be displayed with much joy in my new kitchen and taken down only for serving the finest of leaf teas ;D Thanks so much Susanne for your generosity. Sam, you probably already have my address from last year, but I will PM it to you in case. Am awaiting my final auction tally to make a payment as I seem to have had quite a few sleeping bids ... Ooops.
Susanne, you are a jewel among cat-lovers!! :Luv:
Edited to add: I will pay my final bid, in case anyone was wondering or still confused ... ;)
-
Correct - I have agreed to let bc have this at her final bid of £13 since she missed the deadline by such a small margin ;D
-
Paid by paypal (at least I think so ... lol, got a receipt though so must have ...)

Item paid for :thanks:

Item will be posted tomorrow ... Wednesday.

Sorry for the delay in sending this out Jo ... it'll be going tomorrow (by courier) now.
-
Don't be so silly. I can wait for a few days. Sam, please don't courier it as I am not at home to sign for it either. Post is fine ...
-
ooops sorry Jo missed your message and post on the thread ... Hope you are around when the courier calls :)
-
They can always redeliver. I guess I won't see it till next weekend now ... :(
-
Well bad news, I am afraid (albeit hopefully temporary). I received a note from the couriers on the 15th saying they had attempted to deliver and would redeliver the next day. I rang them and made arrangements for it to be redelivered today as I could take time off work to receive it. I left explicit instructions that under no circumstances was it to be left with the neighbours. All of this was carefully noted and is in their records (I know, I have checked). So sitting here I noticed the day was getting on and rang to see where it was, and was advised that it was left with the neighbours yesterday. Now not only is that in direct contradiction of my instructions, but they did not even have the courtesy to leave me a note to tell me, so I have been sat here all day waiting for something that has apparently already been delivered to my new (distinctly dodgy) neighbours. And guess what, The neighbours are not answering the door ... >:( Of course they could all be out for all I know, but really, that is 100% bad service as I am sure you will agree.
I have phoned and complained and asked that you, Sam be reimbursed for the cost of the delivery, and they have assured me that their driver will be instructed (on pain of sacking) to take measures to recover the parcel and redeliver it to me even if in his own time. So will see what happens. In the mean time will keep an eye out for the neighbours' return and see if it is there with them.
-
Well, the good news is that the neighbours may look dodgy but they are actually quite nice. So the package was ready at the door when I knocked, having heard them moving around inside. Sam the man said, when I called back the couriers to stop their driver harrassing the neighbours for the package, that all other matters would still be addressed. I would, however if I were you, complain from your end too, because it is really unacceptable and they should reimburse you for costs!!!
The teapot is now safely out of smidgen reach on top of the kitchen cabinets (along with a few other cherished items). It will get very good use when I am living in the country and can have tea parties with the neighbours!! ;D
-
pleased its arrived ;D

Thanks BC ... I will lodge my complaint with the couriers. They are the company we use at work so we rarely get to hear any feedback on their service.
Glad you got to meet your neighbours and so pleased your teapot arrived safe and sound. Although I've never tried pouring tea with it I did give it a test run with just water and it poured lovely so I'm sure it'll get plenty of use at your tea parties ;)
